Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 733: Unable to Unleash His Full Abilities

Chapter 733: Unable to Unleash His Full Abilities

Brother Xue realized it wouldn’t be possible for him to destroy the battle formation after losing his ally.

As the battle dragged on, he could feel himself slowly being suppressed.

His hopes and dreams of obtaining the reward for breaching the opponent’s defensive lines were dashed, but he quickly managed to calm himself. He once again thought about the original plan the higher-ups of the Spirit Abundance World came up with.

If everything went smoothly, all of them who had arrived were there to buy time for other experts to be transported over. They would eventually overwhelm the enemy.

He felt that they had a chance to breach the defensive lines because of the squad they ran into after arriving. After all, he could tell that Shang Xia and the others were newbies who just stepped into the Martial Dipper Realm. That would mean that they used up all of their fighting strength and were at their limits.

Now that he decided to stick to their battle plan and drag things out, he started to deal with their assault in a calm manner. He strengthened the protective barrier around himself to the limit. Shen Baisong and the others were unable to do anything to him with their meager strength.

However, they had an impressive record of killing the second element Martial Dipper Realm expert. They far exceeded what others expected of them and now that they were able to suppress an expert in the third element of the Martial Dipper Realm, no one expected more from them.

During the ascension of the Tongyou Mysterious World, Shang Xia exhibited his godly control over world origin. The endless tide was easily manipulated by him and controlling the inner qi of the other 4 people in the battle formation was too easy.

A greater portion of Shang Xia’s consciousness was fixed on transforming the different types of dipper qi at that moment. He wanted to use the chance to deepen his understanding of how the 5 elements interacted with each other in order to improve his rank five arts.

Throughout the process, Shang Xia didn’t forget to play with the Tongyang Needle from time to time. He would infuse some inner qi into it occasionally in order to draw Brother Xie’s attention over.

Even though Shang Xia’s squad had the advantage, they were quickly forced back into a stalemate. Both sides were unable to do a thing to each other and fighting more would just devolve into a battle of attrition. They would eventually be comparing the depths of each other’s foundations…

As such, they had a lot more time to observe the battle happening around them. Shang Xia noticed what was happening in the region of sealed space.

The fifth wave of experts from the Spirit Abundance World had already arrived and the sixth was on their way.

The squads who arrived to intercept them were slowly starting to get overwhelmed. There were still 2 other squads who hadn’t dealt with their opponents.

With more experts from the Spirit Abundance World pouring in, the battle formations were eventually overrun. They had to split up to fight individual opponents.

Luckily for them, even though they had to fight individually, they had the numerical advantage. Even if they were in a pretty bad spot after fighting experts from the Spirit Abundance World back to back, they were able to hold on. The situation hadn’t deteriorated to the point where they were completely fucked.

However, the clock was ticking. How long could they maintain their advantage?

Shang Xia couldn’t help but ponder. He extended his divine will to its limit and even though the battles around greatly affected what he could detect, he was still able to discover a thing or two. He discovered Shang Bo’s battle formation was still intact and his grandfather was looking pretty good. He heaved a sigh of relief inwardly.

The number of Martial Dipper Realm experts sent by the Spirit Abundance World numbered at a staggering 25 by that point and none of them had cultivation level lower than the second element of the Martial Dipper Realm.

The experts of the Azure Origin World and Azure Spiritual World were able to gather 9 squads of 5 experts each, but if they were counting in terms of cultivation level, they were pretty scattered.

The only advantage they had was their numbers. They could easily work together to form a battle formation to maintain their current advantage.

Of the Martial Dipper Realm experts from the Spirit Abundance World at the fourth element or above who came in the first wave, 2 of them had already died. The final one had multiple Fate Dipper Clones destroyed and was pretty much on his last breath.

There were 4 experts who arrived in the second wave, and 2 of them were dead.

6 experts arrived in the third wave, and similar to the second wave, 2 of them had been slain.

The fourth wave arrived when Shang Xia and the others were still fighting, but of the 6 who came, things were pretty similar. Only 2 of them were killed.

The situation was turning grim after the fifth wave came. They were unable to hold their advantage and they even lost several experts on their side!

With 2 experts from the Spirit Abundance World dragging one more expert on their side down earlier, the total casualties from their side rose to 3.

The battle was violent and the losses were great. However, what they were losing wasn’t just their experts.

Cultivators in the Martial Dipper Realm were extremely hard to kill. It was especially so for those who had refined more than a single fate dipper.

The Spirit Abundance World might have lost 8 experts and the Azure Worlds lost 3, but multiple Fate Dipper Clones were destroyed along with them. Many people’s cultivation fell continuously.

After sending 25 experts in the Martial Dipper Realm, the spatial tunnels showed no signs of opening again. It seemed as though they had also reached some sort of limit as they slowed down their offensive.

Unfortunately, the Spirit Abundance World was a higher world and that was far from what they were capable of.

One had to know that the Azure Worlds were able to gather 45 experts in the Martial Dipper Realm now that their new world was under threat. The Spirit Abundance World clearly wouldn’t just gather 25 experts if they wished to invade their world. Moreover, they had proven their abilities. From how none of those they sent had a cultivation below the second element of the Martial Dipper Realm, their deep foundations were clear for all to see.

The high average cultivation level was probably why the Spirit Abundance World slowed down. It wasn’t easy to gather so many strong experts. Luckily, they seemed pretty limited for now. It was why the Azure Worlds could withstand the invasion with the use of their battle formations.

Even so, no one celebrated despite the lack of response coming from the spatial tunnels. The longer the period of silence, the more pressure they felt. A sense of crisis descended upon them.

Shang Xia wasn’t the only one who felt it. In fact, almost everyone understood that the moment experts started pouring out from those spatial tunnels again, the battle would reach its climax. It would be time to determine a victor.

Everyone would glance at the spatial tunnels from time to time.

Outside the glass barrier, a horrifying ray of light approached from the depths of space. The experts at the Sixth Order of the Primary Realm from the 3 Elysiums were also enduring great pressure. They didn’t have the ability to pay attention to anything else.

With everyone’s attention on their respective opponents and occasionally, the spatial tunnels, a powerful ray of light arrived once again. It seemed to possess endless might as it crashed into another point in the barrier.

Crack…

The sound rang in the ears of those present, and it also seemed to slam heavily into the hearts of those from the Azure Worlds.

Another point in the glass barrier broke and a torrential wave of energy poured into the region of sealed space. It eventually stabilized and formed a fourth spatial tunnel!

The hearts of those from the Azure Worlds sank at that moment. They felt as though the world was going to crash down on them.

As for the experts from the Spirit Abundance World, they attacked with an invigorated vigor. Some of them even used the chance to break through the encirclement around them.

Brother Xie, who was held back by Shang Xia and the others, also chose to burst forth with all his might that very instant. He even separated a Fate Dipper Clone to cover him as they ran in different directions.

Already distracted from the fourth crack in the glass barrier, Gong Xinlan and the rest failed to react in time. Gong Xinlan and Yi Jingzi made an error in judgment when the Fate Dipper Clone appeared and they chased after the clone instead of the real body.

Shen Baisong and Lady Yu were clearly no match for Brother Xie’s true body even with Shang Xia’s strength amplification. What was more, Lady Yu’s Water Screen had been torn apart twice since they started fighting and her condition was quickly deteriorating.

Indeed… After a series of short exchanges, the Wooden Ruler in Shen Baisong’s hand was sent flying. Lady Yu spat out a mouthful of blood and it was obvious she suffered heavy injuries.

Because he separated a Fate Dipper Clone, Brother Xie was no longer at his peak state. He wasn’t able to escape unscathed under Shang Baisong and Lady Yu’s combined assault. His body trembled violently and he failed to break through their encirclement despite dealing some damage to the other side. Fortunately for him, no one else stood in his way.

“HAHAHA!” Brother Xie roared with laughter. He took a step forward to leave as he gestured behind him to retrieve his Fate Dipper Clone.

His expression changed the next instant. He lost all connection with his Fate Dipper Clone!

That fucking needle…

Brother Xie was no fool. He had been watching out in case Shang Xia made another move, but everything he had to protect himself was on his true body. His Fate Dipper Clone remained completely vulnerable.

What was more, he didn’t think that Shang Xia would actually use his killing strike on a mere Fate Dipper Clone!

One had to know that Shang Xia had been observing the battle since he was providing support from the rear. He should be able to discern the difference between the true body and the clone, but he still chose the wrong target. It was clearly an obvious mistake!

To others, Shang Xia definitely messed up when he destroyed the clone.

Brother Xie felt a trace of regret as he wasted a perfectly good Fate Dipper Clone. Whatever it was, escaping was of utmost priority. He could turn back and deal with them in the future.

Unfortunately, another figure appeared before him when he tried to leave. The youngster that was hiding behind the rest to unleash his sneak attacks actually came over!

The only difference was that he was no longer holding the needle in his hand. Instead, he held a broken blade!

A strange five colored glow surrounded the blade and as it cleaved downwards, a blade qi that was made from five colored light emerged. It destroyed everything in its way and a clean cut was made through space as the blade qi appeared above Brother Xie’s head.

Divine weapon! That was a damaged divine weapon!

The protective barrier around him was sliced open in an instant. He couldn’t move forward because Shang Xia was standing in his way, and the space around him forced him to stay in place. He couldn’t dodge if he wanted to. There was only one option and that was for him to retreat…

However, the moment he did, he would be surrounded by the others again. If that were to happen, he would have wasted a Fate Dipper Clone for nothing!

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant and he eventually made up his mind. He took half a step forward before raising a short trident above his head. The trident seemed to resemble jade, but it also seemed metallic at the same time.

Clang!

The clash happened without any fancy explosion, but Brother Xie felt his arms becoming a lot lighter. He felt that things had gone awry and he no longer cared to break through the encirclement. He retreated quickly, abandoning his weapon.

Even though he reacted as soon as he could, his protective barrier had already been cut open. The blade qi extended deep into his body and a long cut went straight down to his belly. Blood sprayed out from the cut and if it went a little more, he would have been cut in half.

Brother Xie felt a chill running through his heart. He instinctively wanted to tap his acupoints to stop the bleeding, but his hand was still holding on to the trident he thought he had released earlier.

Even though he wanted to block Shang Xia’s blade qi with his short trident, it was immediately cut in half the moment the Abyssal Blade arrived.

Luckily for him, the trident delayed Shang Xia for a split second. That was the only reason his body was only sliced through by the blade qi. Otherwise, he would most likely have lost another Fate Dipper Clone.

In the end, he was still thrown back into the encirclement.

Gong Xinlan and Yi Jingzi couldn’t care about the embarrassment of chasing after the Fate Dipper Clone earlier and they quickly came over to assist. They attacked relentlessly, not giving him time to recover.

Shen Baisong and Lady Yu also ignored the injuries they had as they flew over to join the assault.

After unleashing his blade, Shang Xia shook his head in disappointment. He didn’t seem too happy about himself as he returned to support the rest.

If he had a true rank five martial art at his disposal, he would definitely have been able to cause the expert from the Spirit Abundance World to lose another Fate Dipper Clone.

Also, Shang Xia looked at the Abyssal Blade in his hand helplessly. It seemed as though it wasn’t exactly able to unleash the full potential of his Five Elements Dipper Qi.
