"How do I know though that you're not just going to disappear after all this unnecessary trouble that you've caused?" Lena asked as she eyed Jovani with an expression that told him she didn't trust him for one minute.
"Because Princess, my job is hardly done." Jovani replied, he would've smirked but the extra facial movement would've hurt his nose too much.
"I think that you forget the part where I've mentioned that Samuel is family and as such he's one of us. Which means that I won't be going anywhere since there's so much still to take care of with him." He further explained. Samuel put his arm around Lena in a gentle way. It caused her to tense in her current state, but she didn't pull away from him.
"He's really not the one we need to worry about although I can't say I'm happy about the way everything was handled or what happened to Jeff because of the decision he made. He's not really a threat from what I've been told."
"You believe what he would tell you?" Lena asked as she looked up at the other, a touch of disbelief in her tone. It didn't seem right to her that he would be so quick to believe someone who had just put them through all of this.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom "I'm not sure if I believe him, but I don't exactly think that he's on the side that's against us. His methods aren't practical or reasonable, but he has explained far more to me than I imagine one would if they had ulterior motives." Jovani stood back as he let the two talk. Truth was, the whole reason he did everything was based upon ulterior motives. He didn't want to let his cousin win the bet after all.
Although, the real issue was much larger than a single bet between two cousins. Samuel's safety would've been genuinely in jeopardy if had gotten ahold of him and he didn't comply with what they wanted. There was still so much that they didn't know.
"Fine, but I won't hesitate to shot him on the spot if he doesn't have a good explanation for all of this." Lena said as she fixed the other with another hard glare.
"Goodness, she certainly really is a protective one you have with you. But far enough. You can pick the time and date and I'll give the best rundown of everything I can. I would offer for you to stay here but I doubt that you would take me up on that offer." Jovani said as he removed the handkerchief from his nose as he was fairly certain that the bleeding for the time being had stopped.
"No. In fact, the next time we meet it will be in my territory where I know I won't have to worry about anything unexpected going on." The princess replied. She wasn't going to leave anything to chance after today. Even though she had Samuel back next to her, everything still wouldn't feel right until they had made it back safely to the estate.
"Fair enough. You can tell me when that would be and I will clear my schedule for it." Jovani agreed. He was curious to get the chance to see the estate anyways even though he knew he wouldn't be the most welcome guest that they invited there.
"Now before the princess changes her mind. I think that it is time that I take my leave. If you go back through that door behind you and take a left it'll take you straight to the entrance and you can leave." He told as he turned around to take his leave.
"Since you seem more than qualified enough- I trust that you will be able to to do a good job of taking care of him until the next time that we meet." He told the princess as he glanced at her over his shoulder. Lena didn't bother responding to his comment as she turned around to leave. She didn't have the energy to deal with this troublesome person and her father was going to be more than worried by this point in time.
Samuel nodded his head at Jovani before he turned around to follow after Lena, Clive, and Romeo. Neither of them were particularly thrilled about the situation, especially the fact that Lena and Samuel wouldn't be heading back to the estate unscathed but instead with what seemed to be more problems to deal with. If it wasn't for his respect in following Lena and Samuel's lead, Clive would've had no qualms about shooting the other on the spot either. It was his job to protect both of them and that man had evidentially overstepped his boundaries.
The only thing in his favor was the fact that he hadn't been lying when he told them how to leave the building. The heat outside wasn't much better than it had been on the inside. The brightness made Lena's head hurt worse as they made it back towards the car.
Samuel wanted to say something to Lena since she was being so quiet, but he didn't know what it should be. On the opposite side of what the princess had gone through, he hadn't been thrilled when Jovani said that he wanted to test them with what they were doing. He objected it to it, but there wasn't much of anything that he could do to stop the other since he didn't have his cell phone to get in touch with them.
Lena still didn't say anything once they were back in the car. Romeo joined Clive in the front so that he could update Zane on things while Lena and Samuel sat in the back. There was so much she wanted to say to Samuel and yell at him about but at the current moment in time she didn't have the energy for it. Her emotions were almost at the bursting point along with the heavy fatigue and pain she was feeling. It would have to wait until later once they got back.
