Samuel didn't have to worry about how he was going to convince Lena to come with him to the venue for the engagement party by the time that the weekend arrived. Zane took care of it for him. He recommend that they go do it since there was only a few days left.
The princess didn't object even though there were a number of other things that she needed to do. Her reason was that she wouldn't reject her father's suggestion and figured it was something that her fiancé would want to do anyways. It was a fair exchange for the fact that he had been making sure that they had a special lunch together after the first time he had done. She was kind of curious though why he had asked if they could later on in the day when she thought that the morning would've been the best time to visit.
The day before he had taken it a step further by somehow convincing James to get her to go and take care of something for him while he got things set up for a bit of a different setting. He had gotten Crocus to put in the middle of the table along with heart shaped plates.
Samuel wouldn't tell her though who gave away the fact that Crocus happened to be one of her favorite flowers. She asked and he simple shrugged his shoulders and told her that they should enjoy the food before it got cold. It was coming to her attention that the other was rather bit more of a romantic that he had given her the impression.. This happened to the exact opposite type of person that she was.
She didn't have any problems with romantics. It was just something that had never been a part of her life and was really pointless as far as she had been concerned with the type of world that she lived in. She didn't think that there was anything romantic about being in the mafia.
Samuel somehow though found a way to introduce a touch of romanticism into that side of the world and their relationship. The princess didn't have a problem with it, she just wasn't certain what the appropriate response to such things were.
Was she happy because of what he was doing for her? Absolutely and of course she thanked him for going to the extra trouble, but she felt like that wasn't quite the way people should behave in those situations?
Of course though, she didn't really have a reference to go off for those type of things. Her parents she had supposed were romantic in some senses and she saw the way they interacted with each other when she was younger before he mother passed away. She wasn't like that though. The way her mother openly expressed her emotions and feelings wasn't something that Lena had been equipped with. In fact, it was the exact opposite.
She didn't even remember ever having watched or read anything romantic. She was certain that they probably showed some things similar to that in school. More than half the time though that they were going to play movies, she would skip class in order to do something else.
"Wait, am I expected to decorate this whole place?" Ryan asked as he turned around after seeing exactly how large the venue was. It would certainly fit the number of people that they would inviting.
He had come along with them because he was going to be the one ultimately in charge of setting everything up and he would need the extra days to make sure it was all finished. He also wanted to get an idea of the shape to know how best to set everything up.
"I thought that was something for you to decide yourself." The princess replied as she put her hands in her pockets. She had dressed down to a t-shirt and pair of jeans for the occasion. She didn't think there was anything to wear her typical attire since after they were done she assumed that they would be going home.
The venue was two hour drive from the estate. It was certainly a worthwhile place. Chart house was the one that her father had chosen to go with. He had even gone as far as to book the whole place so that there wasn't any risk of anyone else being around when the event took place. He made sure to pay extra so the owner couldn't complain about losing business even though he was also doing it as a favor to the mafia boss.
Samuel seemed to be enjoying looking around the place. She had to remind herself that even though he was getting used to being in the family, he wasn't used to being in such extravagant places yet. He would soon would be though with everything that he would be taking care on the Vedova Nera side.
He had invited Jovani to come along and see it since he would be helping to provide the security for the event as well, he rejected the offer however as there was still a lot of work that he had to take care of. He did ask for pictures though so he would get a general idea of the place.
"I can see that there would be a lot of benefits to how things could be set up here." the chef mused as he moved to the center of the room so that he could see it from a different perspective. He was trying to calculate how best he could take of the set up. He would definitely have more than enough space for all the food and décor that he was planning on adding to the place. Emerald and rose gold would look rather well with the ambiance that the lights gave off.
"What do you think about the place? Lena asked after he had a chance to really look around and get a feel for what it would look like being there.
"I think it will work well, certainly much larger than I had imagined." He replied with a small laugh. He realized that it was probably silly for him to be in awe of such a place when the princess was used to all of this.
"Probably because the outside of the building doesn't quite match the inside of it." She pointed out. Because of the way it was built it could give off the impression that it wasn't quite as large inside as it was on the outside.
"Are we going to be inviting enough guests to fill this place up?" Samuel then asked as he looked at the edge of the room, he couldn't really think of the number of people who might be able to fit into it because of how large it was.
"Not quite. We'll be inviting a large group, but my both my father and I agreed it would be safer not to pack it too full. Too big of a risk of something happened." The princess replied as she watch Ryan who was busy examining all the nooks and crannies of the room, seeming to be talking under his breath as he took everything in. He certainly was taking his job very seriously in being in charge of making sure that the setup was going to be done perfectly.
"Don't be too surprised by the amount of people that you will have to be around. At the wedding there will probably be two if not three times as many people as we'll be having here." The princess told him with a sigh. She would have personally preferred to do something more private, but she knew that that wouldn't be an option.
"Hundreds more people?" He asked rather surprised. Lena nodded her head in response to the question.
"I guess there will be a lot more people for me to meet and get used to I guess." He marked. He wasn't quite sure how he was going to be able to keep track of the names of so many people.
"Don't worry about it too much. You only have to act like you remember who they are when you meet them. I don't think there are many people within the family who remembers everyone the name of everyone they have to meet with." She assured him. Julius was possibly the only who had figured out the way to do that. Even her father didn't put that much time and trouble into it considering there was always a never ending circle of people he interacted with when he was at his busiest.
"In the long run it'll probably be better for you since you're going to be having to get used to everyone you need to know from the Vedova Nera side as well." Samuel knew that she made a good point in saying this. That didn't mean though that he wouldn't give it his best effort to try.
