The drive back to the estate was a relatively quiet one, but not in the tense way that it had been the night before Lena and Samuel.
This silence was due to the fact that both of them were busy working on different things. Even though it was a day off, there was a number of text Lena still had to reply to since she had been ignoring her phone for the last day and the half.
Not everyone knew that she was getting engaged and she was happy to keep that way even though she knew that it would mean more work for her to take care of after the fact due to impatient people wanting to get a response about work matters sooner rather than later.
"You're honestly not worried about what your father or anyone else in your family is going to say?" Samuel asked as the silence continued to drag on.
"Is there any reason for me to be worried?" Lena asked, not taking her eyes off her phone as she continued to sort through everything that she would need to reply to.
"I mean it wasn't exactly an expected situation that occurred and I'm not quite sure what your family's standards are on things like that." He explained. The only person he really worried about was Julius or Zane. Both who were rather intimidating despite the fact that neither one thus far had had a problem with accepting him into the family.
"My father won't care and my uncle won't say anything unless my father first has a problem with it." The princess replied as she put her phone down to look at the other.
"Besides, I think it is a little bit too late to be worrying about those things. They would still know something happened even if we didn't say anything to them at this point." She pointed. Even if though she had somewhat tried to, it was rather hard to cover the marks around her neck.
Not to mention the fact that her father was a very observant person who would probably know exactly what occurred without anyone having to tell him anything. He had years of experience learning how to read people to help him in these kind of situations.
Plus, her brother would be likely to drop teasing hints about what happened without saying anything specific. Even if she asked him not to, he was just that kind of person as he didn't think there was any reason to keep it a secret either.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom "Engagement is close enough to marriage anyway. The ceremony that will take place is more of a tradition rather than something that's important." She continued as he glanced at her phone when she noticed that her father had messaged her back. Seemed he had spent most of the night with everyone back at the club. Fun somehow always turned into business when he was involved.
"If it was up to me, it wouldn't be happening in the first place. Appearances are too important to everyone else however and thus it must go on regardless of difference in opinions." The princess said with a sigh. Like her father there were a number of things that she wanted to change when she took over. She knew though that some of them wouldn't be possible due to the people who were in charge at the top. They would only allow her a certain amount of power.
"So just let it be then unless it is brought up?" He asked, focusing on his own phone he saw that he had gotten a text from Jovani with an image attached to.
"Exactly. If it becomes a thing, we can discuss it then. I honestly only care about whether people on the outside cause any problems about it. Most won't say anything, but there are some people who would make a deal out of it." She replied.
"You did this?" Samuel suddenly asked, changing the subject as he showed Lena the picture that Jovani had sent it. It was of his swollen cheek.
"He unexpectedly got into my personal space and said something annoying. It was reflexes that caused that to happen." She explained. She couldn't deny that it did look rather painful, but she didn't feel sorry over what had happened. It was the other's fault for doing something he knew he ought not to.
"You probably should've have apologized to him at least for reacting subconsciously, it looks like it is rather painful." Lena cast an indifferent look onto the picture again.
"No reason to apologize for something that was his own fault. I have warned him before about not getting into my personal space or doing things like that and he didn't listen." She replied, defending her action.
There were other people who would have done far worse to him for that kind of action than what she done. Perhaps a bit rough because he was considered family. She hadn't however gotten over her bad feelings towards him after what had happened with Samuel.
At least she wouldn't have to see him for a while after this and Jeff would be getting to come home soon so somethings would be taking a more normal turn for a while.
"Still, you should be careful about those kind of things." Samuel tried to reason as he texted his brother back.
"No, other people should be more careful of what they do around me if they don't like the results of their actions. I only react if people do something to me, I rarely ever instigate anything." The look on her face told him that there was no point in arguing about the situation any further.
She wasn't going to change how she reacted to people as she felt that there was no reason to. She had personal space and she expected other people to respect it the same way that she did with most everyone else except for Samuel.. She didn't mind him invading her space too much.
