Samuel knew that it was a big thing that he was trying to take on by suddenly requesting to work with Richard on this. He felt though that it was something that he could do.
He went outside to call Jovani in order to make sure that no one else would interrupt while he was talking with the other. He knew that once the other had gone over it with him and agreed to it or not, he would need to talk with Lena about it next.
"I was wondering if you were going to be calling me back tonight. I guess you were wrapped up with the princess all day?" He didn't miss the joke that Jovani made but he was too focused to properly respond to it.
"We were enjoying our day off. figured that whatever it was was something that could wait until later for me to get back to." Samuel replied.
"Hm, so if you're not calling to get back to me about that, what is it that you need then?" His cousin asked. He likely could tell that there was a difference in the other's tone of voice that let him know something else was going.
"I actually have a favor that I want to ask you about or rather your opinion about something I want to do."
"Is this something to do with the issue that is going on with Richard. If so, I'm not sure that's something you should be so quick to jump into and try to handle." Jovani warned. This wasn't the kind of answer that Samuel had been expecting from his cousin.
"I think though that I would be the best person to handle this though." Samuel pushed back as he put his left in his pocket. It was a little bit chilly not that it was getting later on in the year.
"You even said yourself that it's better not for people to know what my real position is because it would be easier for me to gather information because people wouldn't be careful talking about around me yet."
"I did indeed say that but not so that you would try to jump into something like this. I don't by any means think you're incapable of handling this. For a first time job though, it might be a little hard." He didn't want to shoot the other down, but there were a number of reason Jovani could think of as to why it might not be a good call to let the other do this.
"Have you talked with Lena about this? It's also something that you would need to clear with her before you thought about doing it." Even though neither said it aloud, they both knew that she would be the biggest obstacle to getting clearance for this type of thing.
Despite the fact that she lacked the ability to be openly affectionate with Samuel, she was far more protective of him than Jovani would've thought her to be. If she ended up giving him clearance, then he might be willing to further discuss the matter with him.
"No because I thought it would be pointless if I couldn't get you to onboard with it first since you're the one who has all the information about the situation." Samuel replied honestly. It was getting past dinner time which meant that she would likely be getting up soon if she wanted to eat. If not, he might have to wait until the morning to discuss anything with her.
"How about about doing this backwards then? If you can get your little fiancé to agree to it then I will talk further with you about it and we can come up with some kind of plan. Only if she agrees though. Depending on how things turn out over the next few days however, I might also change my mind as other pieces come into play."
He didn't want to flat out reject giving his cousin this opportunity. There were however quite a few pieces going on that Samuel wasn't yet aware of but that his older cousin was trying to keep track of.
"I will call you back tomorrow then. If there's anything else email it to me and I'll look at it tonight and we can go over it to tomorrow." Samuel told the other before bid farewell and ended the call.
Now though, he had to figure out how best to bring this up to Lena. It wasn't something that was going to impact the next few days that they had off together. He didn't think though that she would still be thrilled about it.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom Lena had woken up not long after Samuel finished calling Jovani. She knew even though her sense of time was distorted until she looked at her phone that something was different. The difference being that Samuel was no longer there with her.
Even though she had been sleeping for quite some time, she still wasn't ready to get up. The position was comfortable and her body still felt rather heavy. Godfather was still playing in the background which meant that they had never made it to the third movie.
Watching the movie though, it made sense as to why she had the dreams that she did. They were likely influenced by the background noise of the TV. She wasn't a big fan of dreams but these weren't as bad as some of the ones that she had had in the past.
Huffing, she knew that she would have to get up however if she didn't want to. She would be hungry later on if she missed dinner and she didn't fancy the idea of bothering the staff to feed her in the middle of the night.
Her sleep schedule was going to be come completely off now though thanks to how things had gone over the last two days. This meant that she was either going to have to stay up for one whole night in order to fix it or try to sleep early for a few nights until it evened out.
She had hardly sat up and began tidying the things around her after brushing her hair out of her face before the door creaked up. Because of how careful the other person was being, she could only presume that it was Samuel.
"I'm awake." She informed him before his head poked around the side of the door.
"Oh I had hoped that you would still be asleep." He replied. If she had been, that meant he would be able to put off what he wanted to talk about until the next day.
"I slept too much." She told him as she stood up and stretched her back. Her body might have still been tired but her mind was going to be awake now for the next few hours.
"Should I have woken up you sooner?" he asked as he came over to help her fix everything.
"You could have tried but I doubt that I would've woken up." She answered honestly. On the rare occasions that her body shutdown so that she could catch up on missed sleep, there was very little that could wake her up. This kind of thing usually on occurred in spaces where she felt that she was completely safe.
"Your body just needed the rest then. Maybe it means that we can focus on other things tonight?" The princess couldn't help but roll her eyes at what the other hinted at. She wasn't likely to be in the mood for that kind of thing.
"Probably not." She replied as she turned to look at him. Her eyes narrowed though when she noticed the expression on his face, he didn't have to say anything for her notice that there was something that he wanted to talk with her about.
"What is it?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. He probably shouldn't have been so surprised that she could read him so easily.
"There's a little something that I want to talk with you about. It is kind of a huge thing but nothing that will be taking place right away if you agree to it." Samuel replied. He figured he would be easier to be straight with her.
"Just tell me what it is then." The princess replied. She got the feeling that it wasn't as small as he was saying it was based upon his behavior.
"It's about something that Hester and your father found out while you were sleeping." He explained.
"Something that I would like to be a part of because they need help getting some information and I think that with my position I would be the best fit for the job." Lena stared at him quietly. It was a rather vague explanation that he had given her which meant that she would have to hear it from her father or Hester to understand it better.
From her perspective however, it sounded like Samuel was wanting to offer himself as bait for whatever it was that they needed.
