Arranged Marriage To The Princess Of The Red Scorpions
Chapter 322 Law Of The WorldLena wanted to go back to her father's room but chose to avoid it knowing that Julius hadn't left yet. Her troublesome Uncle whom she'd rather not see chose to remain as stubborn as herself. Wanting to be by his brother's side even if that meant his niece refused to occupy the same space with him so soon after everything that took place. She'd eventually have to be in the same space with him. Just not when she was uncertain whether that would involve pulling a gun on him again or not.
The princess instead found space away from everyone on a different floor. Having created enough chaos in Leo's room, she didn't want to go back there yet. Hence, the sixth floor would have to do for now. She would take some time to breathe and figure out what to do next.
Hester wouldn't be coming back for a while. Not until he determined how best to utilize the information that they had gotten. Romeo needed to tend to the thing at the estate still. Him being the next in command with Julius in no state to do it himself though Lena would've preferred that.
Eventually though she would have to ask Romeo to come back in order to help with other matters. Hester would need someone to help him sort through the data if something important came out of it. No to mention when Jovani came back, there would be a lot to do with that as well.
The latter who still hadn't been messaging het back after the last little scuffle the two of them had. Lena shot her phone a disinterested look. Jovani was the only one to blame for the whole matter that took place. Lena would have no issue with the other if he stopped trying to hide whatever was going on and just told her or someone else about it. He was worse than Richard in that respect. Staying close but not enough to let anyone really touch what exactly was going through his mind at any given moment.
Richard was off doing whatever he did when he wanted to avoid being around other people and the only other person who came around was Clive's wife. But, was talking to someone about what the princess wanted at the current moment?
Not exactly. IT would just serve as a decent distraction until her emotions went back below the surface. Her trigger fingered wouldn't stop twitching even if the urge to murder someone faded to a dull background buzz.
An indication that the last person in the world that she would want to talk to happened to still be around? A question she didn't even know the answer to though she didn't think that the director would be fool enough to make that move.
If he were still around, the director would no longer have to worry about doing the task requested of him. Lena would take care of the matter herself without giving it a second thought. She very much so still wanted to be the one to deal with the problem.
One extra body on top of all the rest wouldn't change much for her. Negatively at least. There would be a great number still to come even after she had taken care of his. The current attempt to settling things down came as a temporary solution. Eventually, she would be putting a bullet through his head. The princess couldn't see any other way around the other whole matter. He wasn't his father but that didn't mean he didn't deserve to die just as much as his old man did.
Her hand tapped idly on the side of the coffee cup. Another day of caffeine with nothing else. Another day that made it harder for her to find the high off the dark liquid.
The only thing that felt like it would work at the current moment was getting something in her hands that she could break. Hospitals weren't very breakable though. At least not if one didn't want to pay afterward or deal with complicated relationships.
The princess looked from the cup upon hearing the gentle pitter-patter hitting the window. It seemed as though today even the sky wasn't in the best of moods. The lack of thunder likely meant there would be limited worry of thunderstorms. The princess didn't want to have one more thing to be worrying about.
The hospital might've been well built, that didn't mean however that there wouldn't be need to shift people around to safer locations.
"He's going to be able to come home soon though right? Daddy even said it himself he would be fine!" the shrill voice and the sound of something glass hitting the floor caught Lena's attention.
Turning away from the window, she took note of a mother trying to console her young child. The kid hardly registering anything his mother said as the crying kept up. The curse of being in a hospital; there would always be more than one person having a bad day at any given point in time. Sounded as though the kid was having a worse time of it than the princess.
She wasn't the only taking notice of the situation either. Older patients were coming over to see if they could give the struggling mother some help. With a deep breath and slight huff Lena turned away.
She finished the rest of the coffee before crushing the cup and tossing it away. One time or another the kid would realize that parents didn't last forever. If it didn't happen now, then at some later point in time his parents weren't going to be there for him.
The cruelty of living. Even if nothing horrible ever happened to someone, they would still end dying at the end of the day. Thus was the law of the world. A law that Lena hated with her very being.
For so many reasons it was one of those that should've ceased to exist a long time ago.
