[Day 3, you became braver and attempted to explore further. Not too far into your exploration, a Bubble Turtle spotted you and initiated combat.]

[After a simple combat session, you get beaten by the Bubble Turtle’s [Rush] skill. Because of your thick skin, you didn’t take too much damage, just feeling a bit humiliated.]

[Day 4, you hid on the island, practising [Spit Water], determined to retaliate.]

[Day 5, still on the island, you continue practising [Spit Water], your skill proficiency upgraded from novice to skilled.]

[Species Talent]: Devour (Entry-level)

[Introduction]: The Slime that has been contracted through dimensional summoning, and possesses extra skills compared to ordinary slimes.

The increase in proficiency of the skills led to an unexpected joy–the growth level of the Slime improved by two ranks.

Spit water and Rush were nothing but ordinary low-grade skills that were commonly possessed by pet beasts. They were of no interest to him. He was only interested in the [Devour] skill.

[Introduction]: Enhances digestive ability, increases the amount of absorbed energy threshold, and reduces the chance of physical explosion. When digesting a pet beast, if the Species Level of the opponent is higher than self, there’s a slim chance of self Species Level increment.

The skill levels of pet beasts vary from low to high, categorized as: Low Grade, Middle Grade, High Level, Super Grade, Emperor Grade, and Divine Grade.

They correspond to pet beast Species Level: Awakening, Extraordinary, Commander, Monarch, Overlord, Guardian God.

A High Level skill was something only a Commander-Level species could comprehend, highlighting the value of this [Devour] skill.

But he quickly realized that this skill was rather limited.

The fact that there was a “slim chance” of increasing Species Level indicated that devouring one or two wouldn’t do much; it would require devouring a large number of pet beasts to increase Species Level.

And there were only two places where there would be a large number of pet beasts.

One was outside the city, and the other was in a Mysterious Realm or some relic.

Going hunting in the wild was risky, as many powerful pet beasts were highly territorial.

Killing a large number of pet beasts in a Mysterious Realm was even illegal.

For instance, in the Water Mysterious Realm, a Beast Master could accidentally harm or kill other pet beasts during a fight, but he couldn’t commit savage or random killings.

To supervise this, everyone is required to carry a Mysterious Realm Pass which ensures the holder can reach their intended Mysterious Realm and acts as a monitoring measure.

This monitoring measure can ensure the safety of the holder and prevent them from committing illegal activities.

If Vincent started to slaughter wantonly here, he would likely be arrested and sentenced before he killed two beasts. Off to the sewing machine for him.

“Only because I have the [Simulation] Beast-controlling Talent, which lets me keep the Species Level achieved during the simulation, I’m able to do something. Otherwise, I can only stare.”
