Notice of Critical Condition
Could it be that someone let the cat out of the bag? Was it the people in the school or sworn-enemies that were trying to make things complicated? Or were there hidden messages behind this?
However, no matter who called them here, it was pointless now. Pengzhan had to find a way to handle these people. Otherwise, these reporters would surely make a mess out of it, and the school’s reputation would surely be damaged heavily.
"I’m the chairman of the Pengzhan industries, my name is Chu Pengzhan. May I ask where you got this news from?" Pengzhan had to get himself out there and talk to the reporter.
"Oh? Even the chairman is here?" Great, I’ll interview you directly then!" the direwolf’s eye twitched and redirected his target. He was trying to lay a trap for Pengzhan to step on it. "I heard something terrible has just happened to the school under your industries. As the chairman, how do you see this matter? Was it because of management oversight? Was someone not doing their job properly, or perhaps some of the teachers were the prime suspect of this?"
This direwolf was famous for his bad-mouth. All the questions he had asked so far were all jarring to the senses.
"My friend, I don’t know how you got this so-called "horrible" news from." Pengzhan smiled lightly. "But, the result has yet to be confirmed by the doctor. The parents here and I are in the midst of confusion. We’ve no idea what causes all this mess, so how did you learn this?"
"It’s none of your business. Naturally, someone had provided me the information!" the direwolf continued: "Even if you knew the reason, I bet that you would never admit it, would you? Hiding the truth from the parents is what you school authorities are good at. There’s no way you guys will care about the safety of the students!"
"Hey, you are wrong here. Chairman Chu’s daughter is also one of the victims, ’kay? How could you say that he doesn’t care about their safety?" the previous middle-aged woman said. Although she was annoying, she wasn’t a bad person.
The direwolf was taken aback. He never thought that Pengzhan’s daughter also fainted! His second statement appeared to contradict the first; Pengzhan was actually very concerned of the students.
However, the direwolf was fast. A bright idea suddenly occurred to him, "Guys, have a look at it yourself. Even the chairman’s daughter is involved in this mess. We can see how poor the management is here! Do you still have the courage to send your children there now?"
"Ah!" the middle-aged woman paused and thought deeply. What he said wasn’t unreasonable. Even the chairman’s daughter couldn’t avoid this, just how terrifying it would be for the commoner’s children?
The parents started to think after they heard what the direwolf said. Even the chairman’s daughter was in danger. How much danger were their children exposed to at school?!
"Everyone, please calm down!" Pengzhan waved his hand, "Didn’t I say earlier? I don’t know the real cause of this event. Even the school doctor had a difficult time determining the cause. The only thing we can do now is to wait for the results. If the school is really responsible for it, the school will take responsibility for it! Besides, saying all these things now is just too early!"
Pengzhan’s words comforted the parents once again. Their children were still in the emergency room. The cause of this event was still unknown. Getting angry over it now was indeed slightly too early.
The direwolf couldn’t believe that Pengzhan was able to handle the problem so well. He couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. He was receiving twenty thousand RMB from Cihua. He had prepared to ruin the school’s reputation. Giving up now was not an option, but, at the same time, he couldn’t just say crap. Otherwise, Pengzhan’d never hold back, and he would sue their newspaper office for defamation. What he had to do now was make the parents angry. It wouldn’t be defamation if those comments were coming from the parents. He was just representing the parents, and Pengzhan would only be angry at the parents, not him!
However, the direwolf was out of tricks to play! But, he was no idiot. He pondered for a while and found another tactic against Pengzhan! Since he was unable to trigger rage from the parents now, he might as well wait for the results and see if he could attack from that direction.
Of course, he didn’t know that Cihua was behind this, and he didn’t know that someone to poison the students. He only knew that Cihua and Pengzhan had some bad blood, and he was sent here to ruin Songshan’s first school’s and Pengzhan industries’ reputation.
After waiting for around half an hour, the emergency room door opened. A man with a white coat came out hastily. He saw the people outside of the emergency room and said. "You guys are the patients’ families, I suppose?"
"Yes yes! How’s my son?" the middle-aged woman and the parents surrounded the doctor, seeking news from him.
No matter how much Pengzhan wanted to understand her daughter’s condition, he was representing Pengzhan industries now. He couldn’t just behave like a worried father caring for his beloved daughter. All he could do was to wait for the parent’s questions to be answered. Only then could he approach the doctor.
"Things aren’t looking good here!" the doctor said. "At first, we suspected that the patients were having food poisoning, but after running some tests, we found out that there was nothing harmful or poisonous in the patient’s abdomen that could make them collapse!"
"Ugh....." the parents were puzzled. If it wasn’t food poisoning, what could it be?
"And the patient’s symptoms are very different from other emerging diseases. Of course, this might be a new infectious bacteria!" the doctor continued, "All of the patients are unstable and their physiological functions are degrading dramatically. Even with the help of a transfusion, their condition has worsened! We’ve separated all of the patients to avoid further spreading of this emerging disease!"
"Ah? They haven’t escaped the critical stage yet. On the contrary, their condition has worsened?" the parents were paralyzed by the news. Just what was going on? Even the hospital couldn’t find a solution to this problem?
"Indeed, we’ve already reported this to the higher authorities and contacted the medical specialists regarding this problem. An expert’s consultation will be carried out shortly, but we can’t guarantee that a solution will be produced in the process!" the doctor said. "These are the medical crisis notice for the patients. Please sign on your own child’s page!"
"Medical crisis notice?" The parents were lost. They didn’t know what to do. They couldn’t believe things escalated this rapidly up to this stage. It was just normal fainting and out of nowhere, it transformed into a notice of critical condition?
"What if we refuse to sign? We want to see children!" the parents voiced.
"We will stop treating your children if you don’t sign." the doctor explained. "We can only find a way to resolve this after you sign, but we can’t guarantee their full recovery. Besides, you are not allowed to get in touch with the patient now, as this might be a new infectious bacteria. According to the regulation on the management of infectious disease, we are supposed to isolate them individually."
