Chapter 32: Core?

Amidst a swarm of goblins, a man with brown hair appeared to be gracefully dancing to the tune of death. With every precise thrust of his spear, he expertly killed one of his enemies. Their flesh rained on him, but he didn't care. The flesh didn't last as long on his body as his armor quickly cleaned up the mess, making it as good as new.

The blade of the spear, which seems to be razor sharp, cuts anyone with a single thrust. Even with all these corpses, there was barely any blood on the floor. The corpse couldn't even bleed, as the spear greedily absorbed all the blood.

Slowly, due to the number of enemies being so great, the spearman began to sustain injuries. But like the immortal he looked, his body also seemed to be immortal, as any injury sustained by it didn't last long and quickly healed.

'Huh... now this is fun as much as it is dangerous' Dhruv thought while beheading one of the goblins once again.

He lost count of how many goblins he had killed so far. No matter how many he killed, it seemed there was no end to their numbers. But Dhruv wasn't at any loss, as despite the numbers, even goblins don't seem to possess the strength to kill him. He would have at least sustained some injury if there weren't the [Thirsty] and [Blood Heal] enchantments on his spear. So he was unkillable as long as he had enough blood... which was plenty considering the number of goblins.

'[Bloodrage] is truly a fantastic spear... thank god i got it as a reward.'

He looks at the Vexar, who seems to be still trying to find the damm core.

'Man, where the fuck is it?' His suspicion grew more and more, and in a fit of rage, he threw the spear, killing three goblins in a row.

But he quickly realize he would get screwed up if he didn't get the spear as soon as possible

'Ahh! Fuck..'

He began running in the direction of the spear. After removing the spear from the corpse, he noticed that the undead, whom Azarex had created, were fighting near him. They were anything but strong; it looks like they weren't even as strong as their normal version.

Looking at the flimsy, walking corpse, he got an idea. Going into the middle of the four undead, he straightened his hand and cast a spell. Upon casting the spell, four white energies got out of his hand and got stuck with all four undead.

After merging with that white energy, a weird force began acting on them, making all four of them get attracted to each other—not emotionally, of course, but physically.

A moment later, all four of them began to fuse together. The scene was as fascinating as it was gruesome. All four undead began to break apart, and after that, they began fusing together.

A couple of seconds later, the fusion seemed to be a success, and a big, 2 meter giant goblin was made. All its features were the same, if not more hideous than the goblins. In front of him, goblins look like angels.

"Groooowl.. Growl"

With a loud growl, the monstrosity opens his eyes, looking at the battlefield. Before, it was flimsy and struggled to kill the goblins, but now... now! This abomination packs quite a punch, and with one punch, a head would go kaboom.

When the fused undead goblin opened his eyes, a strange connection had been made between himself and the undead. Now, he can sense that he could order it around. Along with his link, there was another link present in the undead that was far more powerful and stronger than his own one.

'This link should be for Azarex' he thought. Which wasn't a surprise, as he had raised them from the dead after all.

Just as Dhruv had noticed the Azarex link, Azarex had also noticed his master's link to the undead. He wasn't mad or anything about it; instead, he was so happy that he was almost about to cut off his link from the undead so his master could fully control it however they wanted.

But remembering that the moment he cut his link, the undead would become useless, he decided against it. But that didn't stop him from raising another four goblins as undead, now that his mind was clearer after all four of them got fused into one. This continued until he had four of these monstrosities under his command.

Now the undead truly began to make a difference on the battlefield, obliterating anyone who dared to get close to Dhruv.

'Why are you protecting... me? scatter and thin out the number as fast as possible. I don't need your protection.' He commanded the undead through the link.

The undead seem confused for a moment about whose order they should listen to. Before they could fry out their brains with this dilemma, Azarex also ordered them to scatter and kill as many as they could.

Looking at everyone fighting, Vexar's frustration began to rise up like a coke to which mentos had been added. He frantically began looking for the core, and that's when sunlight suddenly got in his eyes... which shouldn't be the case as he was looking down and not in the sky. This shouldn't happen, unless...

Unless... There was a reflective item on the ground. He quickly picked up whatever material was reflecting the light. He looked at it for a second; it was a material that looked like it was made out of glass and wasn't very big, about the same size as a pea.

He quickly turned around, now facing the direction where Dhruv was battling, and yelled:

"Master, look... have found... weird..core"

Dhruv looked at Vexar, then at his hand, where there was something between his fingers. His heartbeat suddenly spiked after looking at the thing in Vexar's hand. He couldn't even see it properly, but he knew that he wouldn't lie to him.

"Well done, Vexar. Now quickly try to absorb it.." he replies.

Listing his order, Vexar lifted up his arm. And instead of absorbing it, he swallowed the core.

"Noooo!!!"

Dhruv's heartbeat suddenly spiked even more, and now he could feel a slight pain in his chest.

'Why did that moran eat the thing? Shouldn't he try to absorb it first? What if there is a side effect to eating the core? Alaric hadn't mentioned anything about eating the core.' He began to panic. He panics, not because he wasted a core. But thinking about what could be the side effect, Because No matter how moronic he was, Dhruv still loves him wholeheartedly, Not just him, But all of them.

Oblivious to all the panic he had caused. While smiling, Vexar lifted his hand and made a thumbs up sign. Indicating that the experiment had been successful.

Looking at the smiling bastard, Dhruv heaves a sigh of relief!

Now that the Vexar was free from his tedious task, He quickly brandished his sword and began the massacre. Now all eight—Dhruv, Trio, and the four undead—of them began the game of death.

But not everyone was as strong and lucky as them. For Dhruv, this quest was an opportunity to increase their strength; for others, hell had descended upon the earth.
