212 Crisis
Right now Lily met an unexpected enemy. An origin beast she had never heard of. She froze in place, sweat covering her forehead.
Two close-set eyes look at their surroundings from their eerie sockets. A flat nose rests below, but it's the huge mouth below that takes all the attention. A gummy smile reveals rows of eerie-looking teeth and a small tongue.
Short wrinkled ears sit on each side of its large, pointy head, which itself is covered in web-like fans and has two stubby horns protruding from the sides.
Its average chunky body is hunched over. Two long stone-like arms dangle at its sides and end in wide hands with curvy fingers, of which it has 10 in total.
Its legs are tall and slightly bent, each ending in muscular feet.
Its body was covered in feathers and its shoulders are narrower than its pelvis, from which a split tail sways back and forth.
Swoosh!
In the next moment, the weird origin beast moved and Lily was knocked flying.
Boom!
Her body landed heavily on the other side of the road like a sack of potatoes and she rolled across the ground for a moment before staying still.
The weird origin beast didn't attack as if waiting, toying with its prey. The fog in the surrounding was cleared by now and finally, Lily who got knocked out temporarily regained her consciousness and struggled to stand back on her feet.
Everything hurt. Lily's head hurt, their chest hurt, her feet hurt. Sweat was pouring from her forehead, her hands were clammy and trembling and her teeth were gritted. It was all too much to handle and for a moment they considered giving in to the pain and giving up.
Fighting through the pain was becoming increasingly difficult, but above all else, it became increasingly annoying to have to deal with. She told herself it'd be over soon, whether that was true or not was irrelevant as it gave her the necessary strength to deal with it nonetheless.
This could be considered the first time since she was born that Lily felt so much pain. She was in so much that she even thought maybe she was dreaming. Everything happened too fast for Lily to understand. She may have started to remember some of her memories but she hadn't completely accepted them, so she was still confused.
However, she wouldn't be called a genius if she couldn't adapt fast, therefore Lily regained her cool and wiped away the blood dripping from her mouth. She cast a healing spell using the Life attribute. Most of her injuries were healed instantly, as for the broken ribs they'll take time to completely heal.
At that moment the origin beast approached and stopped a few meters away from Lily and she could swear to have seen the weird origin beast grinning.
She did not have the time to be angry because the beast was really intimidating.
She recalled her knowledge about Origin beast to quickly determine this one's level. An Origin Beast Tier 1= Origin Master Level 7-6, Tier 2=Level 5, Tier 3=Level 4, etc. We only have names for Tier 5 (Level 2) and Tier 6 (Level 1): Semi-Lord class and Lord Class. As for Tier 7 Origin beast like Level 0, there isn't any Tier 7.
'This thing is comparable to Tier 3.' She arrived at this conclusion, her instincts were telling her this and this conclusion scared her, she was just a Level 5 origin master at the moment. So she stood no chance again a beast only a Level 4 origin master can beat.
Unprecedented feelings of fear arose and Lily felt her scalp blistering. She had goosebumps all over her body. This was an unprecedented crisis.
Lily's reflexes kicked in and both her lower limbs moved to flee before she even stood up completely.
''Grrrrr!"
The weird origin beast grinned upon seeing Lily escaping into one of the broken houses.
It is fun to chase after prey, they are tasty this way.
The weird origin beast finally moved and soon caught up with Lily who abruptly stopped and launched an attack with the rapier she had summoned a moment ago.
The origin beast wasn't flustered at all, the beast responded by extending its claw and the claw met with the rapier, sparkle flew all over as the rapier and the claw clashed intensely. The difference in strength broke Lily's wrist, and she dislocated her ankle while trying to withstand the force of the beast's swing. She was flung out of the broken and landed face down on the ground. Her rapier was flung to the side, and she felt a burning pain from the bloodied hand previously gripping the hilt.
'As expected I'm not his match.' Lily mumbled while quickly casting another healing spell on herself.
It was unknown if it was because she knew it was hopeless to fear the beast more or what but at the moment she was uncharacteristically calm, so calm that her other half would have been shocked upon seeing her current state.
The weird origin beast stopped in its track as it was unhappy, this woman wasn't showing any fear but an unprecedented level of calmness, so much it was eerie. She had to die.
Meanwhile Lily was thinking of the best scenario to survive in this situation, she couldn't escape, she couldn't ask for help. She was alone in this crisis, she could only overcome it herself.
For some reason, she had the feeling that man must be somewhere secretly observing and maybe hoping she would ask for his help and this thought disgusted her. Whether this assumption was true or not she wouldn't give in and would show him that she couldn't escape from this crisis and grow. The best help is always yourself.
Finally, the origin beast disappeared and the next moment arrived before Lily with one of her claws piercing through her stomach at the same the beast felt a burning pain in its abdomen, Lily had used a dagger at the last moment creating a small injury and it was all she needs.
Using the gap created by the dagger she pushed her left hand into the beast's stomach and with a bloodied mouth she announced.
''I've got you, cough! Reverse Heal!'
