Chapter 2179 Secrets
Shinta was fully excited to hear about a certain secret that her father wished to share. She was called to the Hall's private chamber with full anticipation. However, to her surprise, there were three other acolytes already waiting for her: Dillion, Ha Ron, and KingRig.
"Why are you guys here?", her excitement fading into disappointment. She had hoped for an exclusive revelation from her father, but it seemed this secret was not hers alone.
"Huh… not much a secret, I guess."
As her father, Emery, opened up a portal, Shinta's curiosity was piqued again. As she stepped through, she was startled by what she saw. "This… this is your Magus domain, Father? How…?"
Shinta had seen a few of the Ouroboros elder grand magus domains before, but this was the first time she saw one could be created by a Magus realm individual. Her curiosity deepened when she saw how impressive her father's domain was. The fresh, beautiful green grass stretched out before her, swaying gently in the breeze. The wind gusted across the clear blue sky, carrying with it the scent of blooming flowers and the faint rustle of leaves. This domain was second only to one belonging to her grandmother, the Queen herself.
As they walked into the Chizpur village, Shinta took in the quaint houses made of enchanted stones and the friendly stone creature who greeted them with warmth. Passing through the village, across the river, she could see a majestic mountain, its peak shrouded in mist and sparkling with what appeared to be magical energy.
Shinta couldn't contain her thoughts. "I have heard that a Magus who comprehends the laws of space could make their Magus domain early, but I'm sure it's not as lively as this… there must be something else involved."
"Smart," Emery commented, his voice filled with pride. Dillion and the others were surprised by Shinta's response.
Emery took them to the cave, and as they entered the dark tunnel, Shinta turned visibly anxious. KingRig, noticing her discomfort, decided to act brave. "Haha… there is nothing to be scared of…"
However, his bravado was short-lived. KingRig's voice suddenly fell silent as he was himself shocked to see what lay beyond the tunnel: a massive, terrifying tentacled beast.
It was Chututlu, its enormous eyes gazing at the group of young acolytes. It opened its massive jaws, revealing rows of sharp teeth.
<Is it dinner time?!> it asked, its voice echoing in everyone's mind.
All four acolytes were frozen in shock. Even KingRig, the mighty Mayan warrior, screamed like a girl. The sound echoed through the cave.
Emery sighed deeply and said, "Cthulhu, with your looks, such jokes are not funny."
The Khaos guardian laughed earnestly, making a deep, rumbling sound that seemed to shake the very walls of the cave. The acolytes, trying to catch their breath, could only stare in a mixture of relief and bewilderment. "Master, what is… how…?"
Now that Chututlu has resided on his body, the Khaos guardian will stay in this chamber, guarding the Khaos gate behind it. Emery introduced Cthulhu as the Khaos guardian and gave a brief explanation of its existence.
The information was complex and difficult for the acolytes to decipher. Unfortunately, Emery didn't have all the answers about its existence, and Chututlu didn't seem thrilled about being bombarded with questions from a bunch of young acolytes. While the three acolytes remained wary of the beast, Shinta approached bravely.
"Mister beast... are you the reason my father is so strong?"
<Of course!> the beast replied.
Surprisingly, it took Shinta only minutes to earn the beast's liking. Emery couldn't help but recall and compare the many weeks he had spent fighting the guardian to earn its recognition.
"Okay, all of you can start your training," Emery announced.
Emery allowed the other three acolytes to explain the training process, giving Shinta the chance to experience the Khaos energy firsthand before providing further guidance. The presence of the Khaos guardian meant they could now absorb much richer Khaos energy almost indefinitely.
The acolytes found a spot within the cave and began their training. The air was thick with the potent Khaos energy, a palpable force that made their skin tingle and their senses heighten. Shinta felt a surge of power flow through her as she focused, her initial anxiety giving way to a deep sense of connection with the energy around her.
While the acolytes were occupied with their training, Emery started to tour around his domain, accompanied by Livi the Baphomet.
The two moved with a purposeful stride, surveying the fruits of Emery's efforts since he had looted Mo Yan's domain. Among the notable inhabitants were the shadow flame bees, which had grown close to their previous numbers, and a few other remarkable creatures that now called his domain home.
The most significant of these inhabitants was the 1000-year-old Ancient Desolate Beast, King Roc, who had created its nest on the mountain summit. Emery and Livi flew up to the peak, the wind whipping around them as they ascended. The beast, a magnificent creature with a wingspan that blotted out the sun, watched them with keen, intelligent eyes. Its feathers shimmered in the light, a breathtaking array of colors.
Emery had discovered that the nest itself, the structure woven from the Roc's feathers, and mucus were precious Tier 5 resources. The fact that the Roc was building a nest indicated the possibility that it might breed valuable eggs in the future, adding another layer of potential to Emery's domain.
Hovered in front of the colossal beast, Emery's eyes narrowed as he examined the enslavement rune he had cast upon the beast. The rune glowed faintly, firmly embedded in the Roc's core. With this, Emery was confident that he would be able to fully depend on the giant bird's strength in the future.
After feeding the giant bird, Emery teleported to the far south of his domain, an expanded area spanning 10 miles of green plains with a small oasis. Here, five different beast species lived, the most significant being the Crystal Rhinos and Lightning Tigers. Although there were a few dozen of each, none were close to Desolate level.
Unfortunately, the limited space and species incompatibility had reduced their numbers. The Lightning Tigers, in particular, were too aggressive and required extensive feeding and care. Emery decided to relocate the Lightning Tigers to a specially prepared chamber within the mountain, to decide what to do with them later.
After tending to the beasts, it was time for Emery to check on the one lying on the northern island—the star-devouring beast.
