This scene deeply stung my eyes, and I stood up awkwardly. At the moment, my lower abdomen was cramping and my hands were aching, but the most painful thing was my broken heart.
I didn’t want to explain as even if I did, Qin Mochen would not believe me at all.
I ignored them and bent over to pick up the photo on the ground. However, at the same time, a big skinny hand picked up the photo first. With a cold and enraged voice, he asked, “You want to kill Yulin just for a photo?”
I straightened up and looked at Qin Mochen indifferently. With a sarcastic smile, I retorted, “So what? Does she deserve to touch my stuff? I yearn to kill her!”
In fact, I knew it was not good for me to provoke Qin Mochen, but I still couldn’t help myself.
Sure enough, his face darkened. The next moment, he seized me by the throat, and his fingers tightened so hard that I could hardly breathe.
My face turned pale under his iron grip. I felt hopeless, helpless, and lost.
His fierce eyes glared at me as he bellowed, “Mo Yufei, haven’t you figured out who you are yet? Let me tell you, the daughter of a rapist! If I hadn’t taken you in, you’d have been despised by everyone.”
Listening to Qin Mochen’s biting words, I trembled and my ragged breathing seemed to stop for a moment as I took in his words.
Mo Yulin had said that I was the daughter of a rapist. To my utter surprise, the man I had loved for five years also said the same words to me. Falling in love with him made me exhausted and caused me endless pain.
I clenched my fists tightly as my eyes turned red with fury and indignation. I stared into his cold eyes fiercely and uttered word by word, “My father is innocent; someone had framed him up. I will not allow you to slander him again!”
I squirmed in his hands and struggled to get rid of him. I beat his arms fiercely as if to vent all my humiliation and hatred.
Qin Mochen looked at me coldly with his brooding eyes. He showed an expression that I couldn’t understand. I still hit him though and to my surprise he was indifferent to my actions.
Mo Yulin saw this situation and suddenly her expression changed. She pretended to be weak and leaned on the shoulder of Qin Mochen. Her tone was delicate and wronged, “Chen, I don’t know why my sister always hates me so much. If my presence really makes her so bitter and unwilling, I will leave right now.” After she finished, she began to cry, and assumed a posture to leave.
Qin Mochen grabbed her wrist at once and glared at me.
Putting the photo in front of me, he said with a reproachful and ruthless tone, “Apologize to her right now, or I will tear it to pieces.”
Although his tone was flat and impassive, it still left me in shock.
He was threatening me with my most cherished thing to apologize to the person
I hated the most.
Mo Yulin provocatively looked at me, and I also stared right back at her resolutely as I declared, “No way!”
I had hardly finished speaking when he slapped me right away. I staggered back a few steps awkwardly. The left side of my face was stinging, and there was a bloody taste between my lips and teeth.
I couldn’t help trembling all over. Then I looked up at Qin Mochen who was pinching the photo with his hands and tearing it up little by little with a dark face.
My father died unjustly; my mother died tragically.
My whole family was broken up and all the members perished. This photo was my only emotional sustenance; why would they destroy my last hope?
I stared at him and shouted loudly, “Qin Mochen, you can’t do that!”
I tried to grab the photo from him, but with a sudden pain in my lower abdomen, I fell to the ground and my face became pale. I was sweating all over with pain.
“Apologize!” Qin Mochen still repeated the same words coldly and continued to tear the photo into pieces.
I watched in despair as the photo was gradually torn apart.
The pain in my heart began to spread throughout my whole body.
