Chapter 247. A Horrifying Battle Pt. 7
“It’s not, right?” Lee Jun-Kyeong asked the silent Yeo Seong-Gu again.
Still, there was no answer.
“...”
Footsteps could be heard from behind Lee Jun-Kyeong, but at the same time, he could hear Zeus speak out.
“Don’t approach them.”
Most likely, Athena had tried to approach. Lee Jun-Kyeong didn’t look back at her and continued to watch Yeo Seong-Gu as he asked once more.
“It’s not, right?”
This time, too, there was no answer.
“Why are you making that face?”
All he could see was Yeo Seong-Gu looking at him with a very guilty expression.
Lee Jun-Kyeong smiled again.
There was no way. There couldn’t be any way. It wasn’t that he didn’t have any doubts. There were the memories of the past that Odin had shown him and so many other questions.
So, it wasn’t that Lee Jun-Kyeong didn’t doubt Heimdall. Just, still, he wanted to hear an answer from him.
“It’s not, right?”
As Lee Jun-Kyeong slowly began to take a step, the voices of Zeus and Heimdall could be heard at the same time.
“Don’t go forward.”
“Don’t come here.”
Lee Jun-Kyeong stopped mid-step.
Then, he responded in a cold voice, “I already know.”
The welcoming smile on his face was no longer there. Heimdall’s face darkened a little when he noticed this.
“You, right here…”
Soon, he, too, spoke in a cold voice.
“Me, right here…”
“You won’t be able…” Lee Jun-Kyeong said, trying to interrupt.
“This is where we were meant to be from the beginning,” Heimdall finally declared.

Clang, clang, clang, clang!
The chains flew toward Odin, accompanied by the deafening sound of metal clashing.
CRACK!!!!
In the tall building with 63 floors, the shattered windows were buffeted by a wind that raged around like the winds of a black hole. The owner of the chains was floating outside the window with a chain wrapped around his left hand.
Zzt!
Then, looking up, they saw the eyes of the owner, cold as that of a grim reaper.
“Looks like he missed you, too.”
A boy with white hair, Fenrir, spoke as if he was pronouncing Odin’s death.
Gleipnir was the name of the chain wrapped around Fenrir’s hand and was the item infinitely close to that of a divine item that had been forged by Odin. Now, the pseudo-divine item that Odin had created by melting Hunters as the materials was constricting its own creator.
“It looks like you don’t even recognize your own master,” Odin spat coldly before radiating waves of mana.
Clatter!
Gleipnir, which had been squeezing him so tightly, momentarily lost its strength and collapsed to the floor as Odin’s body disappeared.
“How dare this little mannerless brat?”
He suddenly appeared behind Fenrir’s back and, at the same time–
BANG!
With a violent explosion, Fenrir disappeared. Jeong In-Chang moved quickly, trying to catch the flying Fenrir.
“I’m fine.”
Surprisingly, Fenrir suddenly was standing in front of Jeong In-Chang, unharmed.
Clank, clank.
Although Fenrir had been struck by Odin, there was a clear ring as Gleipnir protected him.
“Gr…”
Finding his balance, Fenrir stood tall, his teeth bared. Odin was floating outside of the broken window, and their locations were switched from before.
“It seems my lessons back then were lacking,” Odin’s cold voice said, cutting through the wind. “And here I thought that Gleipnir would have killed you…”
His eyes shifted to the chain wrapped around Fenrir’s arm. ‘This is beyond my expectations.”
Then, he smiled as a strange desire began to emerge across his face. Most likely, he found a twisted pleasure stemming from the curiosity that emerged from learning about something that he had created betraying him.
“Now, you’ve rebelled enough; come back to me,” Odin said, extending a hand. “My child.”
Slink, slink.
Then, the chains wrapped around Fenrir's arms began to loosen.
Odin looked pleased. “Do not try to escape your Creator.”
Gleipnir was a weapon that he had created, and as such, it wouldn’t be able to escape his grasp—or, at least, that was what he seemed to think.
“…!”
Odin's eyes widened. The chains that had come loose off of Fenrir’s arms suddenly melted into a puddle and reformed. Then, just like that, a boy made of steel who looked just like Fenrir was glaring at Odin as he spoke.
–No.
Odin looked at him with wide eyes, soon letting out a roar of laughter as a strange heat flickered in his eyes. A weapon that he himself had made—it had betrayed him.
“Did you copy your host’s body? How interesting! Now…!”
Clang!!!
“Let’s see if you were able to copy its abilities as well.”
Even at this very moment, Odin’s curiosity brought him Madness.
***
BANG!
Smoke was emitted out of the top of the building, which served as the symbol of Yeouido.
BANG!
As the building shook amid the rushing chill of the harsh winds, explosions erupted one after the other. Green light, white light, and the flash of steel burst out once after another, embroidering the sky.
“In-Chang.
A single drop of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth. Fenrir wiped it away as he spoke to the person by his side.
“Gasp…gasp…”
Jeong In-Chang looked at Fenrir while holding Gram as a fierce battle had begun with Odin.
‘He’s a monster…’
Although it had only lasted a few minutes so far, Jeong In-Chang realized once again how powerful Odin really was.
CLANG!
Although Fenrir and Gleipnir, two people stronger than him, were attacking Odin one after the other, the older man was leisurely countering their attacks. In addition, Jeong In-Chang also joined the battle, attempting to take advantage of any opportunity he saw, but his entire body shook just from the aftereffects of the blows that occurred.
“Get out of here,” Fenrir said.
Jeong In-Chang looked over at him as if to say, ‘What the hell are you saying?’
However, he could see it in Fenrir’s eyes.
“If you stay here…”
Jeong In-Chang had been with Fenrir for a long time. However, the boy in front of him was a completely different beast from the one he had known all this time. He felt goosebumps sprout all over as he involuntarily shrunk back. The bloodlust emanating from Fenrir’s eyes was enough to scare even Jeong In-Chang after his incredible rise in strength.
“You’ll be in the way.”
“...”
Jeong In-Chang looked over at him angrily.
“Protect the princess, instead.”
“Damn it.”
However, hearing Fenrir’s sentences one after another, he had no choice but to swear.
Fenrir was right. In this fight, he was nothing but a hindrance. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t realized it, and he wasn’t the only one.
“Ugh…”
His groaning companions—they, too, were merely obstacles that hindered Fenrir in this battle. That was why Jeong In-Chang felt so resentful.
‘I…’
He wondered what the hell he had done all this time. When everyone else was growing and doing their best in their respective roles, he had to run away once again. Not only could he not help his companions, but his very existence had also become a hindrance to them. A sense of self-deprecation and a deep hole of emptiness suddenly appeared within him.
At that moment, Fenrir called out to him.
“In-Chang, you’ve done enough,” he said.
Crack!
Jeong In-Chang looked over at Fenrir, who was still battling with Odin.
“We just have different roles.”
Jeong In-Chang thought to himself, ‘When did Fenrir become so good at speaking? When did Fenrir learn how to comfort people?’
“I am Jun-Kyeong’s spear.” A smile slowly appeared on the boy’s lips. “And you are Jun-Kyeong’s shield.”
“...!”
Thud!
Fenrir looked at Jeong In-Chang, who suddenly found himself unable to breathe. Something began to boil in his chest. Finally, Jeong In-Chang nodded.
Bang!
At the same time, he stomped on the floor and disappeared.
The companions who had collapsed on the floor and were groaning in pain were suddenly in his arms as Jeong In-Chang said one final thing without looking back, “You have to win.”
Fenrir was right. He was Lee Jun-Kyeong’s spear, while Jeong In-Chang…
He was Lee Jun-Kyeong’s shield. The duty of a shield was to do his best to protect the things that Lee Jun-Kyeong wanted to protect. His own abilities were perfectly suited to doing so. Lee Jun-Kyeong probably knew that, too, and that was why he had been sent here.
In addition, Fenrir had mentioned “the Princess.”
“Yeah, In-Chang.”
"Let's go."
Jeong In-Chang moved quickly, handing over his companions, who were barely holding on, to the princess. The princess also looked back for a moment and spoke before disappearing.
“You have to win.”
“Yeah.”
–Is it done now?
It was their newest member, the one who had tried to kill Fenrir, who had used to be Odin’s restraints, Gleipnir.
Now, the boy was talking to Fenrir himself and was even taking on a similar form. The chain had no ego, just a will for revenge against Odin and the basic instincts of a bug. In fact, the ego of the chain was being fueled by something else.
“Let’s do our best, Sangun.”
It was Sangun’s soul. Fenrir bared his teeth.
Woosh!
The cold wind of the winter day filled the observatory as Jeong In-Chang seemed to be quickly going down the emergency exit, disappearing. Now, it was the real beginning.
Crack!
The ground underneath Fenrir’s foot was crushed miserably as his long white hair began to grow even longer. Before they knew it, the little boy had suddenly become a fully grown adult.
“I will kill you. Odin.”
***
Creeean!
The building with 63 floors was collapsing as the building, a mark of civilization, began to lean awkwardly as it could no longer withstand the repeated explosions.
CREAAAAK!
The building fully collapsed as explosions continued to wrack its walls. Within it, slightly different ruptures ruptured around everywhere.
BANG!!
What appeared was a young man with white hair, a boy with a body of steel, and finally, a single eye drenched in madness.
“How amazing! Really, how amazing!!”
The three moved around, trying to kill each other. Every move was so fast that even the sharpest eye wouldn’t be able to track any of them. This time, rather than the form of a wolf, Fenrir took on the appearance of a young man, one he had never shown before.
Nevertheless, Fenrir’s arms retained the strength of his wolf form. His legs moved even faster than when he was a wolf. It was a fight absent any fancy skills or magic. It was just a battle of the flesh—to kill the enemy using one’s entire body.
“Hahahaha!”
Bang!
Listening to Odin’s roar, Fenrir joined forces with Gleipnir. During the time that Gleipnir had merged with him, the chain had evolved to obtain Fenrir’s appearance and had even gained some of his abilities. With the addition of Sangun, they had gained the strength to fight Odon.
Moreover, it was the same for Fenrir, too.
Crack!!
The goosebumps that had risen on Fenrir’s body turned to steel and began to cover his skin.
‘Me, too…’
Fenrir had also gained a lot from Gleipnir. Gleipnir and Fenrir made eye contact.
Bang!
They flew in opposite directions and stopped in place.
“I guess I should begin to really try, then!” Odin shouted.
–No.
"No," the two spoke in cold voices.
“This time.”
–You will die.
The two wolves, baring their fangs—no, the young man and the child threw themselves towards Odin at the same time.
