Chapter 352: Rune Breath (1) [Bonus]
[Gene Talent Crystal (Silver) (Treasure)]
[Capacity: 450]
—
Much like a Gene Crystal, this Gene Talent Crystal wanted him to load in a catalyst. It would then calculate the Genes that it would need to spit what he needed out.
With a Capacity of 450, though, it would need 450 Genes… or more accurately, 450 Silver Genes.
Sylas could only suck in a cold breath when he realized this. It would be a troublesome matter, indeed, to benefit from this Gene Talent Crystal.
Even so, it was still technically less valuable than a Gene Crystal with the same capacity. That was because it wouldn’t give him any boosts to his stats, nor would it give him any increase to his Stat and Gene Limits. It would only give him a chance to unlock a Gene Talent. It could be classified as a glorified Skill, even.
There was another limiting factor as well. If the Gene Talent was too powerful, then he would likely end up storing a Gene Talent he couldn’t use without literally dying of exhaustion. His heart would explode from the labor.
But then again, this was hardly a worry. By the time he could gather so many Silver Genes, his strength would definitely be far beyond what it was now.‘Hm?’
Sylas’ heart skipped a beat as he felt One King For Me activate. Or, more accurately, he sensed the Insight Path Talent activate.

[Insight (Path Talent)]
[>Observe Gene Sequence of Contract]
[>Sense Evolution Triggers]
[>Comprehend Contract]
—
Insight was the only one of his Path Talents that didn’t have a specific number pegged to it. It was vague and came to him more as intuition than anything else.
He had felt that the Arctic King Cobra was a chance for the Basilisk King to evolve, for example. But he didn’t realize until he was in the moment that this evolution had less to do with the Basilisk King absorbing something from the cobra and more to do with the Basilisk King using it as a means to assert its pride and dominance.
Now, he had sensed another path for the Basilisk, and…
Sylas took out the Basilisk Skin Armor. Then he began to look back and forth between the Gene Talent Crystal.
‘I’m still missing one thing… or is it two…’
The feeling was too vague.
Until the Gene Talent Crystal appeared, he thought that the Basilisk Skin Armor would just have to be handed over to Cassarae. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing; it was just a waste since she would be spending most of her time in the city until they managed to upgrade it to a Rudimentary City.
However, it seemed that there was another path.
‘Interesting. The combination of his armor and this Gene Talent Crystal is a chance for the Basilisk King to evolve. I wonder what’s missing.’
Sylas made a decision. If he didn’t find the third item he needed to catalyze the reaction any time soon, then he would leave the armor with Cassarae. As he saw things, she was his woman, so she should have some level of protection.
When he found the third item he needed, he’d take it back. It would kill two birds with one stone.
He had a feeling that whatever evolution the Basilisk King got from this wouldn’t be a simple one at all. He would have to continue growing his strength if he didn’t want to be shredded apart by their Fusion.
With that, Sylas began to casually use the rest of his tickets. He was quite satisfied with his gains, so he wasn’t really expecting much with the tickets he had left, but surprisingly he got something else when there were just three tickets left.

[Unyielding Scholar (Silver) (Title Sequence)]

[Unyielding Scholar (FFF+) (Title)]
[Your mind is an embryo of chaos, dense in its unpredictability and lofty in its ambition. You are not only sharp, but your Wisdom is no less powerful than your Will]
[Devours Blazing Will]
[+200 Wisdom]
[+200 Will]
[+100% Wisdom]

[Progress to Unlock]
[>Comprehend Rune Breath]
[>Discover Rune with 50 Foundations]
—
‘Discover? Or does it mean create?’
His reward wasn’t the Title; it was rather the Title Sequence of Unyielding Scholar. This was actually not a bad boon because this Title had been on the list of FFF+ Titles he would need to unlock Aetherflow with his 200 Capacity Bronze Gene Crystal.
He had been rewarded with it here, and that wasn’t bad considering asking the Madness Key would have cost a pretty penny. All things considered, it wasn’t a bad outcome.
It seemed that the world was pushing him toward unlocking Aetherflow. Between Aether Flow, Rune Flow, and Skill Flow, he had to admit that he was leaning toward the first as well.
He wasn’t in a rush because gathering the 200 Genes he needed would take a very long time, so he hadn’t come to a certain decision just yet. But it was good that such a thing had appeared now.
Now he just had to figure out what Rune Breath was and what it meant by discover… could it mean just analyzing a 50 Foundation Rune? It couldn’t be that easy, right?
He had already analyzed the 32 Foundation Ice-Poison Rune with hardly any effort at all. After all, back then he had very limited knowledge of Runes. He had yet to even complete the nine-door training course all the way through.
Now, if he had to analyze a 32 Foundation Rune again, it wouldn’t take nearly the same amount of time.
He had a hard time believing that one of the tasks for unlocking such a Title was so easy.

[How would someone just starting their path of Rune Mastery unlock Rune Breath?]
–
[Rune Breath is an upgrade of Rune Insight. Starting from Rune Sight, to Rune Visualization, to Rune Enlightenment, and finally to Rune Breath.
[This state in particular refers to a state of oneness with Runes that allows their natural flow toward your command. This will severely decrease the amount of Wisdom it will take to accomplish the same actions…]
