Suddenly, there was a glitch in Sylas’ system. The words warped and became an ancient language of sorts that made him realize that maybe the system had actually been translating for him all this time.
Things quickly went back to normal as per usual. However…

[Penalty Accessed]
[80,000 Free Experience deducted]

Sylas frowned. Was he being penalized because Nosphaleen wasn’t a real Serpentes? Why would it lag to realize this? Or was it something else?
Unfortunately, he didn’t have much time to consider because Nosphaleen’s current health was glaring. According to the system, she might as well be dead already. He could only hurriedly put her into the Hibernation Realm.
This was Nosphaleen’s only chance to survive. The bonus recovery from the Hibernation Realm was about the only thing that could keep her alive for now.
Although Sylas thought about just removing the cancerous Gene from her now, not only would that be more complicated after he had just forcefully integrated it into her body, but he wasn’t yet sure if that would undo the contract he had with her, or what kind of rebound effect that would have on him.
Right now, Sylas wasn’t even sure if he could extricate the Gene out of her in the first place. Because he had pushed it so far through those complicated layers, it would likely take a Taboo Bond Level much higher than he had right now to undo it.
Although he had 20,000 Experience to use now, it would take half of that just to get Taboo Bond from its current Level 4 state to Level 5. And if the trend continued as it was, he wouldn’t have enough Experience left to get it to Level 6 because that upgrade would certainly cost even more.
‘Her situation seems to have stabilized somewhat…’
Sylas couldn’t enter the Hibernation Realm, likely because One Kind For Me was also too low-leveled right now. But he could see the situation inside well enough if he focused.
The Hibernation Realm was a simple space of white fog that didn’t seem to have a beginning or end. The creatures inside were forced into a state of hibernation, much like the namesake of the Realm implied, and weren’t aware of much.
However, when Sylas summoned them, they would be immediately ready to go.
Through this, he could see that Nosphaleen was stable. In fact, she was even rapidly getting better. However, Sylas knew that the moment he summoned her, she would revert back to a terrible state.
This wasn’t all.
He had imbued the cancerous Gene into most of her Clypsian DNA, which was the very foundation of her being. She was far more Clypsian than she was Serpentes. Essentially, even if he could summon her right now, she wouldn’t be of any use at all, and her stats reflected that.
Most of them weren’t even 10% of what they had been originally. The only exception was Will and Charisma, which only suffered a 20% hit or so.
However, Sylas would be a fool to fuse with Nosphaleen now.
As for what would happen if he, a man, fused with this woman… he didn’t particularly care. That wasn’t something he would even give a second thought to if it meant that it would make him more powerful.
The real reason he wouldn’t do such a stupid thing was because of the Cancerous Gene.
Unlike Nosphaleen, he couldn’t enter the Hibernation Realm and might very well end up killing himself in the process.
However, he couldn’t help but be fascinated by Nosphaleen’s status screen even if basically everything was Dormant.
<Projected Shift> was both a movement technique and similar to <Momentum Shift>. However, it was far more complex because it could use a series of illusions and telekinetic applications to display its might.
<Charm Veil> was an area of effect mental pulse that was far more focused in its aggressiveness than Sylas’ usual passive use of Madness might be, and it was also far stronger than <Stunning Spike>, being an FFF-Grade Skill.
<Glide> in conjunction with his telekinesis might even directly allow him to fly for a short time.
There were so many compelling things here, but he could also see how he was a perfect counter to her. 90% of her Skills were useless on him because his Will was simply too high. The same was truly for Compelling Gaze, her Gene Talent.
What was interesting, though, was that Siren’s Call, her second Gene Talent, was actually related to the elements. It was an interesting Gene Talent capable of culling both Aether and Runes alike almost as though she was charming the laws of the world. The only limitation was that it could only be used with water-based elements.
Then there was what caught his attention the most.
—
[Comprehensions]
[>Mesmeryx Totem]
—
It was clear that she had a Comprehension; he had already sensed that. But he found it interesting that it was described as a Totem.
‘Mesmeryx…’
He subconsciously knew what this was. In fact, he felt that he understood far more about it than the Basilisk that had been by his side for so long.
The Mesmeryx was a Serpentes of Golden Lineage, known for its beautiful silvery, rainbow-scaled body and metallic wings. However, its strongest abilities were in its illusion and charming capabilities.
Likely due to One Kind For Me, all of this information flooded into Sylas’ mind, and he suddenly realized something else.
He was only having so much trouble with the Basilisk King because it had a Legendary Lineage.
Helping Nosphaleen to progress would be a piece of cake by comparison.
