After Adam and Natasha left for their date, Aleksandra, who had been hiding behind the curtains of the mansion and eagerly watching Adam's reaction with unconcealed relish in her eyes, walked out from her spot with a quiet gait and went toward the place where the two big siblings were located.

One of the reasons she had avoided Adam all this time was because she honestly felt quite a bit awkward meeting with him at this juncture. Knowing… who his mother was.

She had a history with his mother, Cecilia and this was one of the darkest parts of her long, long life. A true and complete humiliation and one of the few times she had felt completely helpless even after becoming an Alpha and a very powerful one at that.

'I guess the son is as much a monster as the mother. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree after all.'

She could see how much he had grown in the very short time she had not seen him and while there was no scent surrounding him, his gait and the faint aura leaking from his very being were undoubtedly indicative of someone who had made rivers of blood wash down at his wake

'He is very dangerous right now. I guess Sasha is indeed right in trusting him.'

The current Adam was truly a powerful being and since he was from the Kaminari family, he might really have a way of protecting and saving Natasha from what should have been a certain death event in any other scenario.

"Nyanyushka, what do you think?"

No sooner had she opened the door of the siblings' room, than she was bombarded with a subtle question by the Eldest of all the siblings of the current generation of Great Wolves.

Alexei was a good boy. He had grown up with love and attention but did not become crooked or spoiled by said attention. He had a good heart and an even sounder mind.

"I already told you, the boy is not a traitor. In fact, I will be honest with you here. If he really wanted us dead, we would be dead. No ifs, no buts; utterly dead. Annihilated without even a semblance of our existence…"

While they were one of the noblest and most respected families in Russia, they were still nothing when compared to an age-old family like the Kaminaris who even gave birth to Zodiac-level entities in basically every two generations.

Even without taking his family into account, just Cecilia alone would be enough to wipe out the entirety of the Great Wolves three times over without even breaking a sweat. That was the prestige of the entity that had bested the calamitous being— Surtr himself.

"He isn't someone we can afford to provoke and make an enemy of. He is also Natasha's lover. Do not provoke nor test him. Am I making myself clear here?"

Alexei still seemed a little unconvinced by her words. Thankfully though, he didn't fight her judgment.

Though she was not directly part of the family, for all of them, without exception, she was their grandmother and they all recognized her power and authority over them.

Aleksandra also never abused her power so this created the current situation where she was loved and cherished by all. This also made her words have a certain weight that was indistinguishable.

"Then if that boy is not the traitor… Is it truly Mikhail ?"

Aleksandra frowned when she heard Elmira speak.

Elmira was without a doubt a strong and capable woman. She had been trained as Alexei's shadow and possible replacement for all her life and she had a complete devotion toward her brother, unlike anything she felt for any other of her siblings.

— A little too much devotion in fact. Even going on the borderline of being creepy and worrisome.

As werewolves, they were not bound by human mentality and morals. She found no problem in the feeling she was nurturing toward her brother.

The only problem was that those feelings were a little too obsessive for anyone's good.

Sighing Aleksandra focused on the important matter at hand,

"Mischa is a good boy. He acts in darkness to make everything better for the organization."

In fact, if she had to be honest here, Mischa was undoubtedly a better leader than Alexei.

The only thing he lacked was not having the power of an Alpha —

'Ugh…'

She grunted. She had to admit that this made him even more suspicious. Power was a sweet drug and people had betrayed for far less in the past.

Elmira seemed to think the same,

"Mikhail has been dealing with many problems in the organization and he is very respected throughout. Don't you think this made his desire to become an alpha grow in intensity? If he kills Natasha and obtains her powers, he will become very powerful and he won't even have to deal with the resentment of almighty Fenrir."

Aleksandra nodded. "I believe in him. But I will move my people to investigate this matter."

She believed in him and she also believed in all the children she had raised.

But she was a criminal. The word Betrayal was not created to describe enemies.

Only someone close to you could betray you.

Sighing, she gave a bow to the twin siblings and promptly left the room.

The clock was ticking. Time was dwindling.

She hoped that the beautiful memories Natasha would make today would be helpful in fighting against the monster that wished to take control of her and gobble up her existence.

'I simply need to do what I need to do.'

Coming back out of the room, she walked toward the living room… only to see Fedora sitting with a pensive expression on her face.

This was something rare for the girl who seemed to always have her head in the clouds.

"Fedora. What might be the matter?"

"Huh?"

Fedora, looking up, shrugged before placing a finger below her chin.

"I was just thinking… Natasha's scent seemed a bit different today. Slightly musky. I don't know how to explain this matter."

Hearing those words, Aleksandra grinned mischievously and did not bother answering Fedora's doubt.

"Let's just say that Natasha will make many interesting memories today."

This was going to be fun to be a fun day.
