Chapter 378: Battle with the Beast King (2)

Realizing he was about to lose, the Beast King used his Extra Skill [Beast King Mode] against Dogora.

Allen decided to step in, kicking the Beast King away from Dogora who could barely stand anymore.

Allen had used a surprise attack without warning or honor.

(Dogora is doing everything he can to keep the fight fair and you just trampled on it.)

But that was done on purpose.

Dogora had discarded all his equipment to fight the Beast King on equal grounds, but the Beast King decided to sully that honor, giving Allen enough reason to step in.

"Dogora, I won't carry you like a princess!"

"Huh? Wha- HEY!!!"

Allen grasped Dogora's ankle and threw him with all his might outside the arena.

Dogora's potato face was flung through the air, and Helmios prepared to catch him and start treating him.

"You aren't going to back down now, are you?"

'GRRRRRR… OF COURSE NOT, I WON'T LET ANYONE HAVE HER. I WON'T BE BEATEN BY A HUMAN!!'

His eyes were filled with bloodlust as he looked at Allen.

"Hum!"

'GHuHH?!'

The Beast King charged forward in Beast King Mode.

Allen had already rearranged his Holder from focusing on mana to increasing his Attack and Agility.

His adamantite sword nearly doubled in Attack, creating an explosion on hit.

Allen had no intention of fighting fairly.

He took Kurena's Sacred Bead, then wore a necklace that buffed Attack by 3000, and rings that increased Attack by 5000 and Agility by 5000.

He had more than enough equipment like that in the items obtained from the S Rank Dungeon, which balanced out evenly with his Endurance.

Allen's Attack and Agility were both around 25000, while his Strength and Endurance went past 10000.

On top of that, he had plenty of blessings from A Rank summons.

Beast A's Critical Chance Up, Bird A's Flight, Stone A's damage mitigation, Wraith A's Physical Resistance, he only needed one card of each summon in his Holder to obtain their Blessings.

Unlike those that enhanced his stats, the blessings did not stack when equipping multiple of them.

Kiel had cast his Endurance buff on him as well, so he had nothing to fear as he began attacking the Beast King.

"Allen, don't you think you're going a bit too far?"

Allen could not hear Helmios' mutter.

He was even using his adamantite sword, keeping the Beast King at bay.

<em class="chakra-text css-0">Thwump!

Allen grabbed the head of the Beast King and threw him to the ground.

The arena's ground was made of sturdy stone blocks fit snugly together, but the impact shattered them and sent a shockwave to the audience.

The representatives in the audience were shocked, wondering if it really was possible for one person to become so powerful.

"So what will it be? Will you admit we won?"

He included both Dogora and Shea in 'we'.

Allen wanted to see if he would finally give up.

The Beast King was incredibly powerful in Beast King Mode, but it was not enough to defeat Allen.

(So this is the power one gains after inheriting the throne. Makes sense why so many S Rank Adventurers came from that family.)

Even though Allen was easily overpowering the Beast King, that was no strength anyone in Normal Mode could achieve.

He had already noticed that in Dogora's Level 84, but Extra Mode made it possible to gain stats with more than ten thousand points.

There was something Guild Master McCarran had mentioned before.

The existence of other S Rank Adventurers.

Apparently a majority of them had come from Albahar.

The current Beast King stopped after reaching A Rank, but the one before him was S Rank.

It was probably thanks to Garm's blessing, thought Allen as he looked at the Beast King with his face buried in the ground. He also began to fantasize about Shea's potential.

'...Grr… Full Beast Mode.'

"Hm?"

Allen though the Beast King had finally stopped moving, but he muttered something and raised his head again.

'GRAWWWWWRRRRRRRRR!!'

The Beast King roared loudly at the sky.

Allen thought it was over already, but the Beast King had one more transformation left.

He still stood on two feet, which was the only human trait its beastly appearance still had.

He was essentially a beast covered in golden fur.

The Beast King had always been large, but he seemed to be even bigger now.

(Hm, I guess there's one more level to Beast King Mode. I guess this is the true power of Beast King Mode that Shea mentioned?)

"Huh…ghah?!"

While Allen was still busy thinking, the Beast King leaped at him.

His terrifying claws tore through Allen's arm which he was using to guard himself.

Allen left a trail of fresh blood as he was sent flying across the arena.

"Urgh."

(So that's his power even though I'm already using Skills.)

Allen had already started using the Skills from his summons.

He had the Fish B's Extra Skill [Turtle Shield] and Awakened Skill [Turtle Barrier] activated to mitigate damage, but the Beast King still left a deep gash in his arm.

Being hit like that again could be bad, so Allen quickly flew high into the sky.

'GRAAHHHHH!!'

But the Beast King roared loudly and jumped high, catching up with Allen and slamming both arms on him to send him back to the ground.

Allen was unable to stop that momentum even with Flight, and he crashed down into the arena, his body being buried deep under the stone blocks.

"That's not fair!!"

Allen sprung out from the ground again, flying high and thrusting his sword with all his might into the falling Beast King.

But the sword could not even pierce through the golden fur.

His low Endurance was brought up, and the Beast King grinned seeing Allen's futile attack before counterattacking.

The fight between Allen and the Beast King continued.

It was too bloody to call it a duel.

Both Allen and the Beast King were trying to kill each other as fast as possible.

When Allen blocked the Beast King's front claws, the stone blocks on the floor were unable to resist that pressure and shattered to pieces.

During the fight, Allen kept rearranging his Holder trying to find the ideal combination to enhance his Strength, Attack, Endurance, and Agility.

Allen was fighting with a sword, but he had no sword Skills, so he could not match the Beast King's power.

(This is amazing, I have to make sure Shea becomes the next Beast King.)

Even under such relentless attacks, Allen could not stop smiling.

He had successfully obtained golem drivers and magic engineers from Baukis, but he felt like he had just obtained something even more valuable.

Being able to fight the Beast King with so many people watching was very valuable.

The Beast King had no armor or equipment enhancing his stats, yet he was overwhelmingly powerful.

Allen was sure that Shea also had the potential to become so strong, considering she had royal beastmen blood too.

He was really curious to see just how powerful his party could become.

He tried to restrain his smile and finally began to think how to finish the fight against the Beast King. But the fight ended abruptly soon after.

"That's enough!!"

"Woah?!"

Allen was taken by surprise.

Merle rode her Hihiirokane Golem between him and the Beast King.

"Allen, you've done enough. Just look what's happening around you!"

"Hm?"

Helmios was with Merle as well, and told Allen to look around.

The rest of Allen's party entered to forcefully restrain the Beast King.

Allen saw the arena completely destroyed, and even the audience seats were cracked.

The location was not resilient enough to survive the fight.

Allen then looked at the representatives to make sure everyone was safe, but whenever he looked at someone they would shriek realizing his eyes focused on them.

There was a considerable distance between them, but they were afraid Allen would attack them too.

Everyone was afraid of Allen.

The Beast King was hold firmly against the ground, and his ragged breath slowly calmed down as he realized the fight was over, and he regained his original shape.

"..."

(He looks kinda small now.)

As Beast King Mode faded, the Beast King's body became smaller and he stood with his shoulders slumped down.

Shea approached him with hesitation, but he did not seem to have any more words for her.

Maybe he had finally realized he had lost.

"Well then, Beast King. I'll expect Shea and her men to continue working with Allen's Army."

Hearing that, the Beast King slowly raised his head and looked at both of them, but remained silent.

The decision had been made.

He did not want to make Allen look superior than him anymore, so he decided to get away instead.

With that, the duel between Shea and the Beast King ended with Dogora and Allen's support, and a completely wrecked arena.

After a short time, he returned to the meeting room.

The meeting had not ended yet, so he would be there and wait for the other representatives.

There were some representatives who had gotten too scared and ran away though, so it took some effort to gather everyone again.

"Well, I'm sure they'll be a perfect set of supporters when fighting the Demon King's Army, correct?"

Rosenheim's Queen made sure to emphasize the word supporters, given they would act on their own terms.

"Ugh…"

The emperor still felt hesitant to let such a powerful group of people to act independently, but he kept that to himself.

The training grounds he had built specifically to be easily accessible from the meeting room had been destroyed.

"Hohoh, I know. Allen's Army will be supported by all countries, and Allen will help us fight back against the Demon King's Army too."

Baukis' emperor summed it up for everyone.

He felt that was the best option, since he would not have to stress about managing Allen's Army, and he would obtain Stone Slabs.

Not to mention that Allen had already confirmed they would fight alongside the Five Continents' Alliance when needed.

"...T-the Confederation has no complaints. I owe Allen for protecting Clebeur too."

Clebeur's king knew what Princess Carmin had given Allen, but he felt that was not enough to thank them.

While he was not entirely sure how his personal debt with Allen would stand, he was glad he did not seem willing to charge an enormous amount of money for his future services.

"..."

There had been plenty of time for him to get changed, but the Beast King remained with his tattered clothes, completely silent.

He had a complex look on his face, crossing his arms and closing his eyes.

He would let his silence speak for his decision.

At least Shea seemed to understand the Beast King merely wanted to keep her at his side.

She looked slightly lonely seeing the Beast King close his eyes and refuse to say anything again.

"Thank you for your support. Sadly, what you saw earlier pales in comparison to the Demon King's strength, or even a Demon General's."

(I didn't use any summons though.)

Both of them had been strong, but both Razel and Lycaoron were stronger than him, even before transforming.

"""..."""

There were next to no representatives who had seen a Demon General themselves.

Not even the leaders of the Five Continents' Alliance.

At least now they understood just how hopeless their way of fighting had been so far.

Allen felt like that was everything, and wanted to go away.

He had not noticed that Sophie had given her mother, Rosenheim's Queen, a glance.

"We can't forget that, yes. I feel like the world is finally starting to agree on something and working together for once. Also, Allen, as the leader of Allen's Army, wouldn't it be better if you had some title?"

The Queen mentioned that Allen should have some title, as the highest member of Allen's Army.

"Huh? A title?"

"Yes. I feel like you should have a title befitting of your achievements, taking people from all races and countries and having them work together. It'll also make future communication with the Five Continents' Alliance easier."

(So I should be known as Allen's Army's something or another?)

Allen had never thought about anything like that.

He felt like being known as Allen's Army's leader, or the owner of Heavy User Island would be enough.

But the leaders of the Five Continents' Alliance wanted to have a better title for him.

"I see. Let me think for a bit."

Saying that, Allen turned to his friends, but none of them had any ideas.

Then Rosenheim's Queen's eyes lit up.

It seemed she already had something in mind.

"How do you like Commandant then? Commandant Allen."

(Hm? I think Commandant was a rank above marshals and admirals. I guess it fits for someone leading over 5000 people.)

As far as Allen recalled military terms, the ranks went something like general, commander-in-chief, admiral, marshal, and then commandant.

It was a good title for someone leading an army of 5000.

Admiral Galara led the highest number of golem drivers in Baukis, which is why he had obtained the title of admiral.

Rosenheim's army of elves were under Marshal Sigur, which is how he obtained that title too.

Now Allen had a title above both of them.

Only a ruler stood above a commandant.

Giamut's emperor did not seem to like the idea, but once again he bit his tongue.

He could not find a good reason to speak against the idea.

It sounded like the title of someone leading the entire army of the Five Continents' Alliance.

Allen did not mind one way or another, so he surveyed the reactions from the rest.

"That sounds good. And you don't have to worry about giving yourself a title."

Cecile was okay with Commandant.

"I believe it's a perfect title for you, Master Allen!"

"I see. I think everyone agrees then, so I guess I'll become Allen's Army's Commandant."

Allen had no reason to refuse the title either.

With that, Allen's first time in a meeting of the Five Continents' Alliance ended with a fight against the Beast King, the destruction of the training grounds, and Allen obtaining the title of Commandant.
