The Prototype Energy Pistol was so sophisticated and it looked like a weapon produced from the future. This weapon definitely didn't exist in this world since making it was impossible with the current technology of Earth. 'Is this gun an alien product?' He muttered in his heart.
Arlan was so busy figuring out the origins of his gun that he didn't realize that they had already arrived in front of the Royal Territory. "Sir, we are already here." The taxi driver cautiously said while looking at him through the mirror.
Arlan snapped out of his daze upon hearing the driver's words. "Oh! Give me a second here." He didn't even glance at the taxi meter as he grabbed a 1000 peso bill from his wallet. It was the largest denomination of the currency in Maharlika.
He gave the blue bill to the taxi driver and said with his friendliest smile. "You can keep the change, big brother."
"Ah, this... thank you so much!" The taxi driver took the bill with a hint of surprise. The Royal Territory wasn't that far from City Land Hotel and he only had to pay a little more than a hundred pesos so Arlan still had a change of more than eight hundred pesos. This was already worth five trips for him.
Arlan smiled politely at the taxi driver before he walked away. He could already see the four guards who were guarding the gate of the territory. They were the same people he had interacted with back then and the tall canine dog was still with them. It was staring curiously at him with its head slightly tilted to the side.
"Mr. Roa!" The four guards saluted as soon as they saw him. They already knew who he was since the upper management of the territory warned them not to cause trouble for this man. They were also curious about his identity because of the special treatment the territory was giving him.
"It's you guys. Do you smoke?" He asked while looking at the guards. These people were fit and they also looked strong and capable. Furthermore, the intimidating aura of a soldier was so apparent in these guys.
They hesitated for a moment after hearing his question, but they soon nodded their heads. "Yes, sir!" They answered out of habit.
"I didn't bring much with me. You guys can share this among yourselves." Arlan said as he tossed a black packet of cigarettes to them. He didn't know what kind of cigarette it was, but it was among the free items he got in the Lake View Villa. He had hundreds of such cigarettes stored in his villa. There were also some exclusive hand-rolled cigars that looked more expensive than that cigarette. He just didn't want to use them since he preferred smoking cigarettes. Perhaps he might try them soon.
One of the guards caught the packet of cigarettes. "This is... Treasurer Luxury Black!" He exclaimed in surprise while looking at the black and golden packet of cigarettes. Each packet of this cigarette was worth more than 60$!
"Thank you, Mr. Roa!" The guard who caught the packet immediately thanked him.
"No problem. By the way, you guys need to be careful. There might be some people with evil intentions nearby." Arlan said with a serious face.
"Yes, Mr. Roa!"
"Mr. Roa, do you want us to send you to your villa? We can send you back using that car right there." One of them said as he pointed at the black BMW g20 parked behind the guardhouse.
Arlan stared at the handsome car with surprise. "Your car is much better than mine."
"This isn't our car, Mr. Roa. This car is a property of the territory. We can only use it during work hours." They answered muttered in embarrassment.
"Is that so? In that case, I won't decline your offer." His villa was quite far and it would be a long walk if he went back on foot.
The guards stared at each other before they tacitly agreed to let the bald guy among them drive him home. He also seemed to be the leader of the group. This guy was quite tall and he was even taller than Arlan. His thick arms were almost bursting out of his uniform. He had a thick beard that was connected to his brush-like mustache. His most intimidating feature was his eagle-like eyes.
As soon as they entered the car, Arlan suddenly asked. "Are you guys from the army?"
The bald guard was taken aback. "How did you know, Mr. Roa?"
Arlan shook his head and chuckled. "You guys are too obvious. The four of you walk as straight as swords and your actions are solid and stiff. Only the army and those trained as soldiers have these qualities."
"You seem to know a lot about us, Mr. Roa."
"I just know a few things." Arlan shook his head and denied it right away. "What's your name?" He took the initiative to change the topic. He didn't want to discuss the things related to his secret.
"Marco Bernal. You can just call me by my name, Mr. Roa." The bald guard said with a smile. He wanted to look friendly to Arlan, but his smile looked scary for some reason.
The two chatted about random matters until they arrived in front of the Lake View Villa.
"Thank you for sending me home. You guys should be careful. Keep your guns close to your hands at all times and be vigilant towards any incoming vehicle. Take care, buddy!" Arlan waved his hand as he headed back to the villa.
Marco stared at Arlan with a solemn look on his face. "Mr. Roa warned us earlier and he gave me another warning this time. There must be something going on. I must report this to the head of security." He muttered to himself as he drove off. Arlan's warning had to be treated seriously. He had a feeling that something terrible was about to happen.
