Chapter 124 I miss you

Luo Xiaolei’s eyes remained wide open as she lay on the bed. The spot where Yu Chen had kissed her was still burning with sensation and her heart was still beating unusually fast.

She had already experienced and seen so much of the world, yet with just a kiss on the forehead from this man, her heart was racing like this? She already felt this that first time he kissed her head but she tried to ignore it, thinking that it was nothing serious and was just some infatuation that would disappear with the passing of time. But it seemed like she was wrong, because as time went by, these feelings in her chest just kept getting more and more intense, becoming even stronger than het own strong will and she feared that she couldn’t seem to control it anymore.

Closing her eyes, Luo Xiaolei quietly clutched at her chest.

...

The next morning, Luo Xiaolei woke up early and left the house without waiting for Yu Chen and the twins to wake up.

When Yu Chen woke up, the butler had told him that Luo Xiaolei left early because she had some business outside of Central City. Yu Chen was obviously a bit saddened but he wasn’t upset. He personally dropped off the twins at school before he headed to his company, like the responsible father that he was.

It was already past midnight when he came home that night so Luo Xiaolei and the twins were already sleeping soundly. Since Luo Xiaolei told him not to do anything when she was asleep, Yu Chen simply watched her sleeping face before he went to bed.

But the next two days that followed, Luo Xiaolei always seemed to leave before he could even wake up while he too only came home when Luo Xiaolei was already asleep. Thus, for three days, the two of them didn’t see each other when both of them were awake.

The impact of this new routine was not good at all, most especially to Yu Chen. He was alright at first, since he could still see her every night when she was asleep but not being able to speak with her for three days made his mood drastically worsen.

Later that day, at Yu Empire...

"Ah! The boss is so damn scary today. I’m still having goosebumps!"

"Yeah, I know. He’s not as scary as his devil mode but he’s been so calm and in a good mood lately that his sudden mood swings these past two days scared me to the bones."

"I wonder what happened. I hope he won’t return to his old self again."

"Ah, no... please don’t. How about we drop by in the temple tomorrow? I will pray for Mr. Yu’s happiness."

Some of the men who just left the meeting room were secretly talking about their great CEO’s mood and it wasn’t just them, Yu Chen’s body guards were all looking at each other, also asking what happened.

"Great historian, what happened? Did the boss and Miss Luo have a fight last night?" Jiang Min asked Gu Wei while Yu Chen was still sitting on the main chair, listening to Gu Jinyang with a terrifying aura blazing around him for no reason.

But it seemed like even the great historian could only guess at what was wrong.

"According to the hidden Sherlock Holmes in my body, the boss is like this because he didn’t see Miss Luo today as well."

"Oh, so there’s no fight?"

"Are you an idiot? You think this boss of ours will ever fight with his beloved wifey? I’m telling you, our boss is no boss against Miss Luo! I would even bet that he’d crumble down before her before the fight would even start!"

"He’s really in a bad mood just because he didn’t see Miss Luo?!"

"I’m 100% confident that that is the reason."

"Ahh... is there anything that we can do to cheer him up?"

"Hmm..."

While Gu Wei and Jiang Min were starting to think about what they should do to brighten up their boss’ mood, Yu Chen suddenly rose from his seat. It seemed like he had finally reached his limit.

"Gu Jinyang, go take a break. I’ll be back." He said and he quickly grabbed and wore his coat.

"Eh? But... these need to be done today..."

"I won’t take long."

His men immediately stood to leave as they heard him, and just like that, Yu Chen and his men left, leaving Gu Jinyang scratching his head helplessly.

By the time they had reached the car, Yu Chen called Guan Ye.

"Hello? Big boss?"

"Where are you?"

"I’m still waiting for her in front of the university. Miss Luo will come out after thirty minutes."

"Okay."

With Gu Wei’s driving skill, the forty minutes ride became 20 minutes so Yu Chen’s car was already parked in front of the school before Luo Xiaolei came out.

"Er, boss, please at least wear something to hide your face." Gu Wei pleaded when Yu Chen opened the car’s door to climb out of the car. He glanced at the panda jacket in Gu Wei’s hand and his brows creased for a moment. But in the end, he took it and replaced his large coat with it before he stepped out.

"Bro Wei, where did you even get that jacket?" Jiang Min asked and Gu Wei smirked.

"Hehe, that jacket is now a key part of our safety weapon so I bought lots of it. Aren’t I a genius? Fufu."

"Yeah, yeah, you are indeed a genius."

Outside the car, Yu Chen was leaning on the car’s closed door as he waited impatiently. He was pulling down the hood of his panda jacket while his gaze was focused on the large gate.

Many students were glancing at him, looking confused about why such a tall man with a godly physique was wearing such a cute panda jacket. Gladly, they couldn’t see his face since he covered it with the hood of his jacket so many didn’t try approaching him. There were still some girls who dared but they stopped three meters away from him because Yu Chen’s intimidating and deadly cold aura was enough to drive every single one of them away.

The ladies started murmuring to each other as they walked away when Luo Xiaolei finally came out. Her eyes immediately flew towards the usual spot where Guan Ye always parked his car and her eyes widened.

Luo Xiaolei’s became wide as saucers the moment she saw that familiar fluffy white panda outfit and before she knew it, she dashed across the street and went straight towards the big panda who was leaning on the car. Her eyes even twinkled as if she just spotted her favorite ice cream among the busy crowd and was now approaching it at full speed.

The panda also saw her running towards him and his gloomy face finally brightened. Seeing Luo Xiaolei’s smiling face as she stopped in front of him, all the pent up desires he had kept inside him was let loose.

Luo Xiaolei was about to speak when suddenly, the man stepped forward, put a hand around her waist, gently drew her to him, and then he embraced her.

He leaned down and gently buried his head in the crook of her neck in a seemingly exhausted and yearning gesture as he whispered, "Xiaolei... I miss you."
