175 Poison III
After Master Jiang Tai left, Yang Ning didn’t leave the study room and accompanied Zheng Liang while he was deeply lost in thought.
It was a serious matter. The Empress of the Empire has been involved in a possible attempt to murder His Majesty which could bring the whole Empire into turmoil.
Not only that, Master Jiang had previously revealed that His Majesty’s condition is similar to the state of Zheng Liang’s mother before she passed away from sickness.
She was also showing the symptoms of being poisoned and was bedridden for quite some time but there was no sign of a poisonous element in her blood. Because of this, she couldn’t receive the proper treatment and antidote in time and passed away leaving her young child behind.
If these two cases are related then there is a high possibility that Yang Lingxin who was just a concubine at that time was also involved in the murder of Zheng Liang’s mother and the First Empress Consort of His Majesty.
Thankfully His Majesty didn’t have to go through the same fate as Zheng Liang’s mother and they managed to save the situation before His Majesty’s condition could become worse. If they hadn’t caught on this matter sooner, His Majesty might have passed away and the story would have unfolded just like how it did in the novel.
Because His Majesty’s death was one of the major turning points in the life of Zheng Liang which caused him to take the throne and become the Emperor and she became the Empress.

Yang Ning noticed the serious expressions of Zheng Liang and noticed that he was lost in a daze. Even after some time passed, he didn’t say anything and was staring at the written report that Master Jiang submitted regarding his investigation and also the details about His Majesty’s condition.
.....
She stretched her hand and placed a hand over his hand that was on the table, holding the report and asked, ” Your Highness, do you want to take a walk outside?”
Zheng Liang raised his head to look at her and asked in confusion. “You want to take a walk? Now?” He wasn’t expecting her to ask him to take a walk outside in this situation. Shouldn’t they plan how they’re going to deal with this situation?
Yang Ning nodded with a smile and said, ” Yes. When you don’t know what to do, it is better to take a walk and relax your mind and body.”
“After taking a walk, who knows you will find out the answer to the questions that you are looking for.” She said.
When the whole world was against her and she was tired of explaining her side to others, she also went to take a walk and buy herself a few cans of beer to distract herself from the chaos that was going on in her life.
However, who would have thought that that night would be her last night as herself? Because when she wakes up the next morning, she will be Yang Ning and not Fang Li anymore.
Zheng Liang seriously looked at Yang Ning and pondered for a while and agreed to her suggestion. Because he also wanted to take a break from this matter which is hovering over his head. Going outside and taking a walk would be better than staying inside his study room and worrying about the chaos that hasn’t officially started.

” We did the right thing by coming outside to take a walk. The weather is so nice and cool. The sky also looks so clean and blue.” Yang Ning exclaimed while looking at the clear blue sky as they walked alongside the lake behind the Dragon Pavilion.
Even though it is afternoon and it should be scorching hot outside, the weather was nice and cool compared to the other days. It looks like it is going to rain soon but for it to rain, the sky looks too clear and blue for that to happen.
While living in the city, she never witnessed a clear blue sky and clean air. The air in the city was filled with pollution and the sky was never this clear and blue compared to this place.
Zheng Liang looked at her and smiled to see her getting excited just by looking at the clear sky.
He nodded and agreed with her, “You’re right. We did the right thing by coming outside. It’s beautiful indeed.” He said.
Yang Ning glanced at him and could see that even though he was smiling, his eyes still looked sad and troubled. She halted in her steps and faced him before saying, “Your Highness, if you’re troubled about what Master Jiang said earlier, you do not need to worry about anything.”
“I am sure things will turn out for the best. Whatever decision you make, I will stand by your side and will support you. Moreover, the important thing is, His Majesty’s health is improving and this is all that we wanted.” She said and helped him ease his anxiousness.
Zheng Liang was pleased with the way Yang Ning tried to assure him that everything will be fine. He nodded and said, “Okay. I will not think about it anymore.”
Yang Ning was pleased by his response and smiled to see him smiling again. “If you’re feeling better, should we go inside now? It looks like it is going to rain soon. It’s better to go inside and eat something than get soaked under the rainwater.” She said and hurried to walk towards the Dragon Pavilion without waiting for his response.
Zheng Liang chuckled the way she didn’t even wait for his response and started to walk towards the dragon pavilion. Looks like she is getting adjusted to the palace better than he had expected.
He was worried that she wouldn’t be able to get adjusted to palace life and would feel as intimidated around her after getting married to him as the others feel around him. However, she is still the same even after getting married, bossy and unbothered.
