IUD-CHAPTER 242 LIMIT?
If one could make a joke, presumably, everyone who knew history would view the scene before them as a jest. After all, even if one were to calculate based on age, Sherlock Holmes would undoubtedly be over 150 years old. Such an individual still being alive was not impossible.
However, this person appeared as a dashing young man, which compelled people to treat it as a jest. Unfortunately, Fang Li wasn’t inclined to do so.
Because, as a main Divine Envoy, even if Fang Li was a rookie, he had witnessed a fair share of incredible events. Compared to those incidents, a person over 150 years old maintaining the appearance of a man in his twenties wasn’t that astonishing.
At this moment, the only thought that arose from Fang Li’s mind was just one.
“So that’s how it is...” Fang Li stared fixedly at Sherlock and muttered softly, “So that’s why Shirayuki said Aria shouldn’t have come here?”
If Aria were to discover that her most revered ancestor was, in fact, the leader of a criminal organization, and one that had burdened her mother with centuries-old charges no less, she would absolutely break down, wouldn’t she?
“Quite the grand joke indeed.” Fang Li didn’t hide his sarcasm. “The world’s most famous detective turning out to be the head of a criminal organization— imagine the upheaval that would cause in the world.”
Hearing this, Sherlock offered a slight smile.
That smile resembled that of a mischievous child.
Shortly afterward, Sherlock spoke cryptically, “It seems Lupin IV didn’t share all of my information with you. It’s likely she thought Aria would be thrown into disarray if she knew about me, just as my deductions suggest.”
This guy even deduced Riko’s betrayal of I-U, didn’t he?
No, it would be more accurate to say he reasoned it out.
And, he even deduced that she hadn’t revealed the identity of their leader.
“The so-called deduction, while merely a form of analytical thinking, when it achieves a one-hundred percent accuracy rate, it becomes equivalent to precognition.” Sherlock explained gracefully, “And my deduction accuracy has always been one hundred percent. Accumulated over the years, it’s evolved into an ability, which I refer to as ‘Cognis’.”
“In other words, I’ve precognise everything.” Sherlock locked his gaze onto Fang Li, suddenly smiling.
“Including your arrival here.”
Fang Li fell silent and didn’t speak anything in return.
From the moment Jeanne had brought him here, Fang Li knew he had likely been exposed. Otherwise, why would all the members of I-U have gathered here without any prior notification?
Certainly, it was because they had already assembled here.
So, Fang Li’s exposure had occurred long ago.
But Fang Li hadn’t anticipated that he would be exposed even before infiltrating this place.
“You are an exceptional talent. While your background is an unfathomable mystery, prompting anyone who checks into you to question how an ordinary Chinese exchange student possesses strength comparable to that of Superhumans, I may enjoy deduction, but I don’t enjoy having all of the world’s mysteries unraveled.” Sherlock’s pleased smile surfaced as he spoke this line.
“After all, if there were no more secrets left in this world for me, wouldn’t it be terribly boring?”
At this moment, an otherworldly charisma emanated casually from Sherlock’s words.
This charisma firmly captivated everyone present, encompassing Fang Li as well.
Fang Li knew.
This was the sort of charisma that only genuine extraordinary people possessed.
Not descendants, nor inheritors, but the Heroes themselves, recorded in history.
Such a person was before Fang Li now, causing his mind to waver a little.
Realizing this, Fang Li’s heart tightened involuntarily.
No, this couldn’t continue.
Otherwise, he would undoubtedly be led by Sherlock’s nose during their confrontation, becoming a dancing clown in his palm.
He had to disrupt Sherlock’s rhythm.
But how?
What should he do?
How could he surpass Sherlock’s ‘Cognis’ and disrupt the rhythm of this famous detective who could precognize everything?
It was quite simple.
Use something that Sherlock could never precognize.
What was that?
Something not of this world.
Fang Li happened to possess such a thing.
“Hum...” Just as Fang Li raised his head, a pair of ice-blue Mystic Eyes suddenly manifested within his gaze.
The next second, Fang Li’s view of the world changed.
It transformed into a patchwork world of tatters.
Death Lines, like cracks, spread all over this world.
Naturally, they were present in the bodies of I-U’s Superhumans standing in the gallery and Sherlock’s body as well.
However, when Fang Li saw the Death Lines on Sherlock’s body, his ice-blue Mystic Eyes widened instantly.
The reason was simple.
Sherlock’s body was riddled with Death Lines.
So densely scattered over his entire form that a gentle touch from Fang Li would presumably cause him to die instantly, no matter where he was touched.
Seeing this, Fang Li understood.
In the realm of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, the fewer Death Lines a person had, the stronger their undying nature.
Conversely, the more Death Lines, the more fragile and closer to death the person was.
Yet Sherlock’s body was covered in a mass of Death Lines.
This indicated only one thing.
“Is your end near?”
Upon uttering these words, the atmosphere in this space, which had been dominated by Sherlock’s immense presence, finally shifted.
And Sherlock’s face, bearing the expression of a man who held all the answers, vanished for the first time.
“...You’ve truly surprised me.” Sherlock’s expression held a touch of quietude, as he said, “According to my deduction, at this point in time, it should be impossible for you to know about this matter.”
Hearing these words, Fang Li understood.
His rhythm had been thoroughly disrupted.
So, what should he do next?
That is also equally simple.
Gather the disrupted rhythm in his hands.
“Sherlock Holmes.” Fang Li locked his gaze on Sherlock and declared, “I’m going to kill you right here.”
The atmosphere, which had drastically changed, turned terrifying under Fang Li’s words.
Sherlock was completely and utterly stunned.
Because Fang Li’s declaration had completely surpassed his deduction.
Because Butei weren’t supposed to kill.
Fang Li’s declaration was something impossible.
However, Fang Li hadn’t lied.
“By showing mercy to you, I would undoubtedly fail.”
“So, I’m going to kill you.”
