After Wang Hong was injured, his consciousness remained shrouded in a hazy state. He felt as though he were soaking in a hot spring, as if he had been asleep for a very long time.
When Wang Hong's consciousness finally stirred from the darkness, he found himself floating in what appeared to be Space.
At this moment, he felt an even stronger connection with Space. He no longer needed to consciously release his Divine Sense; he could sense everything within Space effortlessly.
He felt that within Space, he could do as he pleased. Even the living creatures within Space seemed to obey his commands.
With a mere thought, a Spirit Bee landed on his hand. He could sense the emotions of this Spirit Bee, communicate with it using his thoughts, and make it perform various complex actions under his mental command.
In the past, he could only indirectly control Spirit Bees through the Bee Queen. Sometimes, after several transmissions, the commands might be misinterpreted, leading to comical mishaps.
But now, within Space, he could directly control every single Spirit Bee.
Furthermore, the fish he kept in the pond could now leap into a cooking pot by his side with a single thought.
In Space, he could control much more than just living beings. He could also command the Spirit Plants within Space.
Previously, he could only prevent the Devilish Vine from attacking him, but now, he could directly manipulate all of the Devilish Vines, commanding them to swing and attack at his will, experiencing a satisfying sense of control.Similarly, with the Enchanting Tree, he could command it effortlessly.
Besides these living creatures, he discovered that he could also manipulate the Spirit Qi within Space, making it flow in a particular direction.
He could compress some of the Spiritual Energy to create walls made of Spiritual Energy, blocking the movement of creatures inside.
In the past, he had put a lot of effort into preventing the Poisonous Bees and Spirit Bees from wandering around haphazardly. Now, he only needed to create a Spiritual Energy barrier between them.
He didn't know why this was happening, but at this moment, he truly felt like the master of Space.
He slowly opened his eyes and found himself lying on a stone bed.
Checking his body, he realized that all his injuries had completely healed, but he had no idea how long he had been unconscious.
He sat up and noticed that he was in a relatively simple stone chamber.
Walking out of the chamber, he saw Luo Zhongjie sitting at the entrance with his back turned.
"East Master, you've finally awakened!" Luo Zhongjie exclaimed upon hearing the movement behind him.
"How long have I been unconscious?" Wang Hong inquired, considering the extent of his recovery; it must have been quite a while.
"It's been over two months. Your injuries had healed completely, but you simply couldn't wake up," Luo Zhongjie replied with a hint of concern, then added, "Now that East Master has awakened, is there anything wrong with your body?"
"I'm perfectly fine," Wang Hong smiled.
"What about the others? Any casualties?" Wang Hong inquired.
"Wen Lan suffered severe injuries, and the others have some minor injuries," Luo Zhongjie said with a peculiar expression, unable to bring himself to say more.
Seeing Luo Zhongjie's unease, Wang Hong directly asked, "Is there something else? Please tell me; I'm sure I need to know."
Luo Zhongjie pondered for a moment and realized that Wang Hong would eventually find out, so he decided to speak his mind, as it had been weighing heavily on him.
"East Master! Jing Shenghong, Feng Yisong, Zhao Chaoxu..." Luo Zhongjie swiftly listed ten names.
"All ten of them have consumed the Python-Serpent Pill..." Luo Zhongjie's words weighed heavily on Wang Hong's heart. These were his comrades who had fought alongside him for many years.
He had always thought that since he had brought them to the Cultivation World, he should secure a bright future for them. While they might not pursue immortality, they should at least have a peaceful and prosperous life.
"What about the others?" Wang Hong inquired.
Luo Zhongjie proceeded to inform Wang Hong about the condition of the others. The losses had been substantial. Over ten Foundation Building cultivators had died in battle, and the Qi Cultivation cultivators suffered the most significant losses. Out of the eighty who had ventured out, including those who had already achieved Foundation Building, only around twenty returned.
Nearly a thousand Qi Cultivation cultivators who had joined them were now reduced to just over three hundred.
"When we return tomorrow, let's make sure to take care of their families," Wang Hong suggested. He often met with the families of his closest subordinates and was familiar with them.
However, Luo Zhongjie's expression soured as he responded, "We may not be able to return so soon. During your unconsciousness, all our people were assigned to various defensive positions along the front lines."
During Wang Hong's coma, the cultivators stationed at the front lines, concerned about his prolonged absence, had requested permission from the Golden Core Elders in charge to distribute his subordinates to different locations.
Qi Shaoqing and the others who had returned with Wang Hong were currently recuperating at the sect.
The reason behind this was Qi Shaoqing's influential background, which deterred anyone from taking action against them. Even many Golden Core cultivators treated them as equals.
Moreover, the combat strength of the East Zhou Trading Company was highly regarded, and many factions were eager to recruit them. They believed that once they had them, they could easily turn raw recruits into seasoned fighters. Therefore, not everyone was determined to return to Wang Hong's side.
At the time Wang Hong had yet to wake up, and they didn't dare defy Qingxu Sect's orders, so they had temporarily complied.
Upon learning of the situation, Wang Hong felt a surge of anger. He hadn't even died yet, and so many people were already eyeing his subordinates.
He immediately inquired about the name and residence of the Golden Core Elder in charge of that section of the front lines and left the stone chamber.
Following Luo Zhongjie's provided directions, Wang Hong soon found Muli's cave mansion.
"Disciple Wang Hong pays respects to Senior Uncle Muli!"
"Hehehe, Wang Junior Nephew, please rise quickly! I heard about your prolonged unconsciousness, and I was extremely worried. How are you feeling now? Is there anything amiss?" Muli appeared exceptionally warm and friendly.
"Thank you for your concern, Senior Uncle. However, I have come here with the intention of recalling the original East Zhou caravan members. I hope Senior Uncle can grant my request," Wang Hong directly stated his main purpose for visiting.
"Hehe! So, Junior Nephew came for this matter. You may not be aware, but manpower is scarce at various defense points now. People from different factions must adhere to orders and participate in the secondary defense lines," Muli explained.
Most of the individuals who joined Wang Hong's group were Muli's trusted subordinates. At this point, he was not inclined to let go of something he had already acquired.
"Senior Uncle, the East Zhou caravan currently has a mission and cannot stay stationed here temporarily. I hope Senior Uncle can understand," Wang Hong requested.
"Oh! I see. What mission is that?"
