Hearing his master's call, Ogis instantly flew down like a rocket before landing right beside Nile.

The three pets positioned themselves side by side according to 'seniority.' As he was the first to become a pet, Maximo prided himself with it as he haughtily claimed the rightmost position. He was then followed by Croco and then Ogis who arrived just a moment ago.

Nile accessed his System Storage Space and took out a bunch of apocalypse berries. He then distributed it to the pets with Maximo and Ogis having the most share. Maximo has a large body so it would be unusual if he didn't eat more. Ogis is in the process of healing so he had also eaten a lot more apocalypse berries compared to Croco.

Meanwhile, Croco was not a vegetarian to begin with and the only reason why he was willing to eat the apocalypse berries was that it could hasten his evolution. Even when Nile offered Croco the meat or the intestine of the Hognose Snake he had killed before, Croco still managed to decline reluctantly and continue munching on the apocalypse berries. 'He wants to evolve that much, huh.'

Nile also munched a couple of apocalypse berries before becoming full. He also felt that his energy was being restored a bit after eating those berries. For now, he wanted to limit himself in ordering yummy food from the System Store as he really wants to save apocalypse points for that peak level two gun.

Although if things continued the way it is, it won't be long for him to advance to Level Three° so he might not actually need it anymore during that time. Hence, he decided to take it slow and let nature take its course.

After eating their fill, Nile told them to return to their positions as they would now continue with their journey.

Meanwhile, Damian and Burge had just arrived at an abandoned building. As it was already a little past noon, they decided to rest and eat first inside the building before continuing their search.

They surveyed the area and they were glad that the building was quite deserted, a perfect place for them to have a little rest.

"Man, that was quite tiring." Damian said as he laid his back on a broken wall while munching a fruit.

"Well, that could be expected… Who would've thought we would experience something like that? I even thought at first that this mission will be easy and the only hurdle we might face is the opposite faction."

"Sigh*, this is the reason why I told you not to treat all people the same. Being a bouncer on that kind of club really taught us many things. Certain people shouldn't be crossed no matter what. After the breakdown, it seems that that rule never changed." Burge said while sipping a mouthful of what seems like alcohol that came directly from a yellowish and spiky fruit.

Damian nodded his head enthusiastically in agreement.

The two immersed themselves in their recollection of what they have experienced during the time of their bouncer carrier as they ate their lunch.

It was peaceful, not until they heard a sudden noise outside.

Instantly the two of them become wary of their surroundings. They took their weapons and held it tightly on their hands. As silent as possible, they slowly crawl towards the window to take a peek at what has caused the noise earlier.

If it was before, the two of them would instantly storm outside and then confront the noisemaker outside. May it a zombie, a hybrid, or people, they can kill them. However, after witnessing Nile earlier, they instantly abandoned their arrogant facade and instead became the cautious type without warning.

"All must do whatever it takes to survive longer." -Burge(Apocalypse, Year 1).

"Just follow what Burge says."- Damian(Apocalypse, Year 1).

Outside the building, two figures could be seen walking side by side. They stepped on the dried leaves and twigs not caring for the little noise that is produced.

One was walking arrogantly without care, dark lines formed on his forehead, it was apparent that the man was not in the mood. The other one was sulking and had a dark expression along with his 'Emo' get up, he always stayed silent unless asked, but no one knew what he was truly thinking inside his head.

The two of them are members of the Blue Faction located on the west side of the town, Emon and Dexter.

Dexter was still in a bad mood ever since knowing that the zombie that they were pursuing no longer had any zombie gel inside it.

It left a bitter taste on his mouth, he felt as if he just became a cuckold.

On the other hand, Emon was still as silent as ever, observing Dexter and his surroundings carefully. What he was thinking, no one knows.

"Ptsui*! Let's rest here for a bit, we're already past the north side of the town due to pursuing that zombie." Dexter grumbled as he spat a mouthful of saliva to the ground.

"Whoever it is that stole my kill… I'll fucking hack you to pieces!" He said. Murderous intent leaks out of his eyes continuously as he swiped the edge of the long blade with his hand.

Emon could only shake his head upon hearing that claim. 'We still didn't even know if someone really took the zombie gel and you're already planning on hacking them to pieces? Tsk, tsk! How arrogant and foolish.'

'Sigh*! Of all the people, why would I be paired with this guy? This is the type of guy I hate the most.' Emon grumbled inside his head. His outward expression on the other hand never changed, it's as if he was thinking nothing, always wearing a blank but dark expression along with his 'Emo' get up.

They've already reported the matter using Adam's pigeon. Considering the time, it should've arrived at Adam's side by now and maybe even flying its way back to them by now. Until then, they have to stay on the north side of the town and lay low.

Rustle!

"Huh? Who's there?" Dexter shouted as he instantly stormed inside the abandoned building to check what had caused that rustling noise.
