Istan eased his closed fist when he heard her. He also calmed a bit as he waited for her explanation.
"Your Bro-Nile is undergoing his Level Three evolution at the moment." Jellan states seriously.
"Go and take the others first, I'll explain it to all of you at the same time." She instructed as she turned her head towards Nile.
She smiled at the thought of Nile being happy when he wakes up after seeing his younger sisters and others.
Although reluctant to leave, Istan did not insist on coming closer to Nile as he also understood that an evolution should not be hindered, or else, something bad might happen in the future.
He nodded his head silently as he went on his way towards the basement of the old house.
Jellan stared at his fading figure before refocusing her attention back to Nile. It was already in the middle of the night he still does not give the signs of someone finishing their evolution soon.
But based on his calm expression, Jellan guessed that everything should be doing well on his end. She also thought that she should do the same. She heightened her senses as she stood up and surveyed the area around the house briefly.
Of course, she did not go that far from Nile as she was worried that something might have escaped her senses just like what had happened before.
After finishing her brief surveillance, she finally decided to go back on Nile's side.
Meanwhile, in the basement of the house, the other children were dejected after seeing that Istan brought nothing for them this time.
However, they did not talk about it as they just lowered their head ignoring the fact that they still haven't eaten.
There were a total of eight children of ages ranging from nine to seventeen.
They were all skinny due to having no food to eat. They surrounded a young woman that looked the oldest of the bunch as she laid on the bed weakly.
There was a gaping and almost rotting hole on her shoulders, just above where her heart is located.
She was sweating bullets as she endured the pain brought upon by the wound. She slowly opened her eyes and turned her attention towards Istan.
"You're here!" She said with a trembling voice full of pain. But contrary to that, she was actually showing a brilliant smile on her face.
"Come here and sit!" She said weakly and offered Istan to sit beside the bed she was laying on.
However, Istan shook his head as he did not waste any more time reporting what he just witnessed outside.
"Bro-Nile is back!"
The moment the word Nile escaped his mouth, all the other children gaze immediately focused on him. And when they heard the words, 'is back' they immediately stood up from the ground and the excitement could not be hidden from their eyes.
Even the young woman who was lying on the bed could also not help but have her eyes lit up from excitement and joy. However, a moment later, it disappeared as she recalled that Nile already left them five years ago as if he was a bubble.
She still recalled the chaos it caused the other children five years after he disappeared. As the oldest of the bunch, she has automatically become the sole bearer of the responsibility left behind by Nile.
Of course, she blamed it on him. If only he did not disappear like a bubble, she would not even have to endure the pressure, much more the sufferings while taking care of her younger 'siblings'!
If not for their uncle Alex who often visited and helped them, she doesn't even know anymore if they would still be alive.
A trace of tears surfaced on the corner of her eyes as she responded with a cold and breaking voice, "Istan! This is not the right moment to joke around! Stop with your silly acts. H-he won't come back!"
Her tears flowed like a river as she uttered the last words.
Istan immediately went towards her and helped her wipe the tears. "Sis Nalyn, it is true! I'm not lying this time!"
"Everyone believe me this time! In fact, Bro-Nile is just outside undergoing his evolution, Sis Jellan was also with him, protecting him while doing his evolution!" Istan excitedly reported to them. He could not hide the joy in his voice and even Nalyn also felt it.
Although she said that he won't be coming back, she actually also wanted for him to come back. She wants him to take responsibility again and pay the years of responsibility that he escaped while he was away. And more importantly, she missed him already.
"I-is that true?" Nalyn doubtfully asked. There was doubt in her voice but it could not hide the hopeful and excited tone that accompanied it.
"Yes! Sis Jellan instructed me to take all of you so that she could explain things to us at the same time."
Hearing that, a smile surfaces on Nalyn's face, and for a moment, she even forgets the pain on her shoulders.
The others also burst into cheers as they heard his confirmation. They were still very young when Nile left them but they could still not forget him until now. After all, they treated him as their father and Nile also act that way towards them aside from being their brother.
Istan could also not help but smile seeing his siblings being happy. He could not help but become proud of himself for discovering the matter outside.
However, he recalled something and he thought that he should warn the others about it.
"Everyone, listen to me first!" He said in all seriousness and for a moment, the others thought that he would now reveal that it was just a prank to lighten their dejected mood earlier.
Their happy expressions dropped down little by little as they waited for Istan's next words in anticipation. Even Nalyn could not help but gulped a mouthful of saliva in nervousness seeing his serious expression.
