Chapter 111 - My Ultimate Attack!"What was that?"
"Isn't that the alarm?"
"Something exploded just now."
Elsie ran towards the window and opened it. She gasped as soon as she looked outside the window.
"Oh my god!"
"What's that?"
"Did something-"
Everyone else also ran towards the window, pushing Elsie away and looking out. All of them paled once they saw the scene outside.
"H-how is that?"
"Oh, my goddess..."
They looked at the scene outside, completely shocked.
"Don't just stand there! You, call the hunters. You go gather the agents. You two, go up to protect the Bordkly's agents. And..."
Team leader Dains paused and looked at his unit members. He looked at all of their faces one by one. Someone seemed to be missing. He slightly tilted his head and opened his mouth again
"And others, come with me."
Team leader Dains took out his guns while giving orders and walked towards the stairs. Others hurriedly grabbed their weapons and followed him down.
Captain Neal also ran down the stairs while calling someone.
"Send out all of the forces. Tell them to get ready as soon as possible. Send teams 1 and 2 to rescue people and the others as backup. Hurry up."
She ended the call and placed the phone in her inventory gadget, taking out a hair tie from it at the same time and tieing her hair.
"Did you know anything about it? Were there any prior warnings?"
"No. Nothing. We even double-checked everything to make sure that nothing unexpected would happen when we heard about Bordkly's agents coming here. There was no signs of something like this hapening."
She hadn't yet arrived at the first floor of the building, yet she started to pant heavily. Running down all of these stairs wasn't something that mages liked.
"Do you have any idea about the current situation?"
"I don't. Huff. I really don't know. There was nothing out of ordinary. Huff. You also saw that. HAA. The alarm went out. Huff. All of a sudden. Haa. It is not how it is supposed to work. Huff."
"Damn it."
Without any other words, the group of people ran down till they reached the first floor.
They didn't need to think much. All of them grabbed their weapons and exited the building.
. . . . . .
BOMMMM
The building's entrance exploded.
It wasn't too far away so Kairen could see it clearly. The walls crumbled and fall on the people around. The ground shook and the beautiful and clean marble floor shattered in an instant.
"W-what?"
"Kyaaa!"
"HELP!"
People's screams rose to the air the next moment. Some had fallen down and some were trapped under the crumbled walls, and some were running away from the entrance.
Kairen ran towards the entrance, in the opposite direction of the fleeing people. No one was holding his collar anymore but he didn't have the time to check the reason. Kairen ran towards the entrance where the explosion had happened.
Once he arrived there, he could see the reason for the explosion.
KIEEE
Kairen raised his head and looked at where the screech had come from. There, he could see four pairs of huge eyes looking down on the people in the teleportation center.
"A monster!"
"What is a monster doing here?"
"Call the hunters! No, call the hunters!"
Standing among the scared people, Kairen examined the monster before his eyes.
'What is this thing doing here? Nah! That's not what is important right now.'
A monster had appeared in the middle of the city of all places. There were a lot of people around. If left alone, the monster could kill all of them here.
'It's between level 1 and 2 ...'
Kairen looked at the huge spider-like monster and moved closer to it.
'Should I attack it? I was told not to use my powers in the city and in front of people...'
Kairen wasn't sure what to do. He was told to not act without receiving any orders, but it wasn't like he could just sit around and watch people die.
In addition to that, he was in the center of the city. This place was crowded with people and buildings. It wasn't a little bit similar to the places where he had battled with monsters before.
Kairen wasn't sure if he could kill the monster without causing damage to the surroundings. A spider-type wasn't something easy to catch, and if he missed the monster, the city would be damaged.
That's why he chose to do something else instead of attacking the monster first.
SHHH
With a faint voice, small and shiny symbols appeared in the air all around his body. Kairen moved his mana to cast the first spell that came to his mind.
It didn't take him half a minute to complete the spell. By the time he was finished casting, a thin and transparent layer was surrounding the people in the building.
"W-What's that?"
"A magical shield! There is a mage here?"
Kairen didn't stop there and cast another spell as soon as he was done creating a strong enough shield.
The symbols around his body shone once more before the big broked stone pieces rose to the air. The stones that were blocking the way or had fallen on people were lifter the float magic that he knew too well.
"WAAAH MOM!"
"Let's get out of here!"
"Hurry up!"
The whole process of casting the spells didn't even last a minute. People used the chance created for them and ran as far away from the monster as they could.
KIEE!
Seeing its prey getting away from it, the spider moved its thick legs again and slammed down with all its might.
BAMM
The spider's legs hit the shield. The shield shook from the impact but didn't break down. The impact of the monster's strike made the walls fall down even more. Once Kairen looked up, he could see the outside of the building, the city of Celinden.
"What the hell!"
Monsters were roaming in the city.
"HELPP!"
"KYAAAH!"
"PAPAA!"
"Please, somone help!"
People were screaming, buildings were crumbling, and the city was in chaos.
KIEE!!
Kairen looked up at the spider again. This disgusting thing wasn't the only disgusting thing in the city. Celinden was full of disgusting things right now.
Kairen never imagined such a situation. He thought that the spider was the only monster, and planned to stop it from harming the city until the hunters or agents, that were more capable of dealing with monsters.
Now, the situation had changed.
"What am I supposed to do?"
Kairen could see the monster moving again. There were also other monsters that had to be taken care of. It would take a while for others to arrive at the scene, and it would be too late by that time.
"What the hell are you doing?"
Kairen jumped up because of the unexpected voice that came from behind and turned back. Once he looked back, he saw two golden eyes were staring fiercely at him.
"What are you doing, huh? Aren't you a mage? Hurry up and kill that thing!"
"I... Um... I"
SLAPP
Alan slapped Kairen's back.
"Brainless fool!"
"Hey!"
Kairen glared at him and started to cast a spell at the same time. He was going to do this anyway. He didn't plan to stand there and watch the monsters destroy the city.
After the symbols all around his body shone once again, a sphere was floating in front of Kairen's face.
"...."
Kairen sensed a piercing gaze on him. He felt as if someone was shooting lasers at his back. He then heard the man's stiff voice from behind.
"What's with that spell?"
Kairen looked at the spell that he had cast.
'What about it?'
Kairen shrugged his shoulders and gave his honest answer.
"My ultimate attack! Super weak energy beam, so that I won't damage anything other than the monster."
"...."
Kairen ignored the man's and sent the super weak energy beam towards the monster while casting another one at the same time.
KIEEKKK KKK
The energy beam hit one of the spider's legs and tore it apart. The spell disappeared as soon as it hit the monster, not damaging anything else.
KIIIIII KKK KKK
The other energy beam that was slightly more powerful than the first one hit the monster's other leg, turned it to ashes, continued to move forward, and destroyed another leg, before vanishing completely.
KKK KIEE
BOMM
The monster lost its balance and fell to the ground, screeching and wiggling around.
'I guess just a little bit stronger would be enough.'
Kairen made another energy beam and this time, he sent it towards the monster's body.
KIEEE
The monster screeched and tried to run away, but it couldn't move properly with three of its legs being lost.
BANGG
The spell hit the monster in the face. The energy beam exploded and engulfed the creature's whole body, before turning it to ashes.
The monster disappeared without even being able to scream.
