Chapter 322 Medallion
'The summoning ended.' Ambrose felt the connection end between him and Yughragh.
The connection was like a string of threads that connected both of them. He felt like if he strayed further away from Yughragh, the string would try to pull him back to him.
Now, the feeling disappeared, as if the string were separated by scissors.
'Luckily, it seems like the Death King has also left. Another problem has been taken care of, but...'
He looked over to the battle between Adam and Tyrannus. It looked like the Sea King had taken advantage and was beating up his former First Commander.
'Shit...' Ambrose shook his head and planned to focus on Mars. He had a few other plans in store but hoped he didn't have to resort to the final one.
In the battle against Mars, Ors used his polearm to strike Mars from a longer distance, but the flames were too dangerous to get near enough.
'This is not any magic; therefore, usage of Anti-Magic is not an option.' Ors thought with a frown and retreated a few steps.
At that moment, Mars formed a fist with his hand and shot towards Ors. Then he opened his fist and shot out golden flames as if his hand were a flamethrower.
Ors' eyes shrunk, but then a crimson light appeared from nowhere, engulfed him in its embrace, and took him away from the path of the golden flames.
He reappeared near Damian.
Ors nodded slightly towards Damian, and with polearm in hand, he again approached Mars with others.
Mars' eyes started burning, and his ordinary-looking eye and the Eye of Shimon turned shades into a bright golden. His eyes reflected the far-away figure of Damian.
"Vampires have no place near the sun." Mars whispered coldly and pointed his hand towards the sky, which was brightening with each passing second.
Then, a large orb of fire appeared on top of his hand. It looked like he created a miniature sun, and it oozed with intense heat that started to change the ground into glass.
Damian's eyes shook as he felt like the sun was directly aimed at him.
Instinctively, he removed his medallion from around his neck and opened it, catching a glimpse of his family.
He felt a sense of comfort and protection from the familiar sight, but then the sun's heat grew extreme.
The miniature sun shot from Mars' hand and flew straight to Damian.
Everyone expected Damian to quickly move out of the way with the crimson light, but to their shock, he was standing still like a frozen statue.
"Damian, move!" Ors shouted.
"..." Damian didn't react, even though the ground around him turned into glass and his skin started to turn red from the heat.
"Move!" A panicky shout came from next to him, and then a black-haired figure pushed him away.
Ambrose turned to the miniature sun and was immediately scorched to ashes. He couldn't survive even a second of exposure to its intense heat.
After a short while, he reappeared on the battlefield, picked up his dropped items, and turned to Damian, who was sitting on the ground with the medallion in hand.
"Damian, what the hell are you doing?" Ambrose approached him with a deep frown and grabbed him by the collar. "We need you. Get your ass up!"
"Ambrose..." Damian sighed and opened one of Ambrose's hands, then put the medallion on it. He then closed his hand and said, "Visit Nightdale and tell my parents what happened to me."
"What are you saying?" Ambrose asked, his voice filled with confusion.
He watched as Damian stood up, his nails growing longer and sharper.
"Sacrifices need to be done..." Damian started glowing at the crimson light and then disappeared in a flash of light.
Ambrose's eyes widened in shock.
The crimson light filled the island, and the air was filled with an eerie energy.
Ambrose touched the crimson light in front of him and saw his flesh turn into the same shade. He then turned to the front, where he expected Mars to be. He couldn't see him, but he could still feel the heat.
"No..." Ambrose immediately used his Formlessness to hurry towards Mars, but once he did, he suddenly got teleported to the edge of the island.
"What are you trying to do..."
...
In the middle of the island, covered in crimson light, Mars looked around with an expressionless face. His body was burning with golden flames.
At that moment, a figure appeared from the crimson light and slashed through Mars' waist with black nails.
Damian looked down at his nails, which were burned away, and his hand had severe burn wounds. He ignored it all, disappeared back to the crimson light, and reappeared above Mars.
He then kicked down, smashing Mars down to the ground.
"Ugh!" Mars screamed and covered his entire body with brilliant golden flames. The heat burned all the hair in Damian's body. He quickly escaped into the crimson light.
Once he appeared in the crimson light, his body was covered in burn wounds.
"Aaaaah!" Damian screamed through pain and lunged back to Mars.
He kicked, punched, and used every skill in his arsenal to attack Mars.
The wounds appeared around Mars' body, but not as much as in Damian's.
His body was covered in burn wounds, and his skin was starting to turn charred black. He had lost his handsome face, and it now looked like it was melting away like wax.
His eyes were no longer recognizable, and his once beautiful hair was now burned to a crisp.
Damian jumped in the air, kneed Mars across the face, and disappeared back into the crimson light. He then appeared around Mars as if he were really teleporting and punched Mars everywhere.
Mars was left dazed and disoriented, unable to defend himself against Damian's relentless attack. However, the flames covering his body were doing enough damage to Damian, who solely focused on physical attacks.
At last, Damian's relentless assault stopped, and he appeared from a crimson light. He was staggering side to side as if he were drunk. His skin was peeling off like old paint, and he was smoking from every pore.
"Ptui." Mars spat out blood from his mouth and approached Damian with heavy steps. "A worthless attempt. In front of the sun, you all may burn."
Damian couldn't speak even another sentence anymore. When he tried, it just sounded like he was choking on something.
Mars formed a fist with his hand and covered it with golden flames. He then punched Damian in the face, and his fist went straight through the charred head.
It didn't even feel like he was punching through a skull.
As Damian's body fell to the ground lifelessly, the crimson light vanished, and everything turned normal.
All Black Heart members watched with shocked expressions at the scene. They were all sent to the edges of the island by Damian, and now they could finally see the result of the fight.
"Fool..." Ambrose painfully whispered and looked at the picture of the family in the medallion. One of them was Damian, smiling from ear-to-ear like a child in a candy store.
"Fuck..." Ambrose's eyes turned bloodshot. 'Bonney, do it fucking now!'
'I-It's not the best time.' Bonney stuttered.
'Now! We'll fucking kill him!'
Ambrose pocketed the medallion and grabbed his Red Swords tight.
