Chapter 16: I love him

(A/N: WARNING!!, This chapter contains unpleasant scene, if you are too sensitive, I advise you skip)

His eyes snapped open as pain flooded his brain. He felt his flesh being sliced like a fish laid for butchering.

Derek's writhed in pain as his sensitive ears picked up a conversation in the background "marvelous!, his receptors are more sensitive than normal."

Derek gritted his teeth and looked down, he saw a man wearing a long white coat cutting deeply into his thighs with a strange smile smeared on his face, before the pain hit him again he wondered if a 'doctor' was supposed to be using such an object.

"Arrgghh!!" Derek screamed loudly as the cut was deeper than the last. Sweat filled his face as he panted. He felt intense pain with each breath he took.

"Are his reactions normal or abnormal?" Derek heard an unfamiliar voice.

"It's totally not normal, his skin seems to have a slight reaction before I even touch it, how amazing", the first man said while dropping the bloodied blade and picking up strange device, he used it to scan the area he cut and turned towards a woman who was staring at a Holo monitor.

The image on the Holo monitor was divided as one side showed elongated cells moving rapidly while on the other, a double helix.

"His DNA is completely normal but his cells, wow!, Their healing properties are amazing, he is the first evolved human to be seen with such capabilities, but it's a little slow, while it's great, we've seen better".

The second man smirked, and his gloves made loud sounds as they slapped against his skin. He turned to the woman. "I think you forgot something, he isn't even a diamond ranked teleporter and don't forget the daggers, the most amazing part is; he's just a normal human. His genes are still locked, so he hasn't fully tapped into his potential"

Shock Dawned on the woman's plain face and she began writing on a transparent board behind her, her wrist twirled with an amazing speed and her words were complete rubbish to a normal person but to her, they were important secrets.

This was their group code writing, all scientists had it, in this competitive era, experimental results had to be tightly secured.

The second man located a thick vein on Derek's arms just below his elbow and pierced it with a long needle and connected it to a different machine, slowly Derek's blood began to flow, it moved into the machine and entered a cylinder inserted in the middle.

The first man came closer to Derek and opened his eyes with his index and thumb, spreading Derek's eyelids apart, he flashed a tiny Torchlight "hmmm..... Well his eyes are okay, the reactions of his Iris is normal, pupils are also normal", he murmured.

Everything they said was recorded. Derek's body was very precious to them, so everything they recorded everything, unique or not.

The second one pressed a button, and the machine turned, and Derek was now horizontally placed.

Derek's eyelids trembled as he endured the pain he had to go through. He could hear their devilish voice and how they treated him like a lab rat. Soon he couldn't handle the blood loss and fainted.

When he woke up, his blurry vision slowly cleared, and he saw some machines with filled cylinders being moved out and a woman talking about the breakthroughs they could have with such special material at their hands.

He chuckled inwardly.

So he was now a material. How sad, when he finally thought his powers had made him special, he ended up in an unknown place with crazy Maniacs everywhere.

Five days later, the door opened again and the three scientists stepped in, they removed all the needles from Derek's body and began their second experiment.

From the information we got, his strength is off the charts, but I haven't seen anything like that.

We've conducted tests on his dermis, neural connections and maybe we have to check his bone marrow to confirm," the first man said while picking up a scalpel of alarming length.

He stared at the shining silver blade which reflected the bright lights for a moment, and walked towards Derek, he took three steps forward before changing his mind "I don't think this method will work anymore, I guess we are moving to stage two" the other two nodded.

He went to a massive holovision and gave a series of commands and when he finished, the smooth white ceiling opened and a machine with a dreadful looking blade slowly came down, while the one holding Derek turned him around, with his back facing the incoming blade.

"Sedate him heavily or he may not survive the pain" the woman said lightly while she watched Derek's vitals, it spiked a bit which showed Derek was awake, albeit semi consciously..

The second man nodded and went towards Derek, he injected a green liquid into his neck and backed away, the machine slowly got closer to Derek's back, when it was close, the saw like blade began spinning at a high speed, even with the sedative, Derek's eyes widened and he screamed "wait!, Wait! please, WAIT!!!. The scientists watched emotionlessly as the blade closed on Derek's back, it was locked on the position of his spinal cord.

Derek's pleading fell on deaf ears as the blade finally met Derek's flesh.

A month later, in a huge white room filled with different equipment's three scientists were chatting," oh yeah, the raise we got was great, number 201 is indeed special, his blood has helped increase the number of powerful super humans in the organization" the second man chortled with a happy smile.

"We will soon start production of the drugs but can he handle it? He's almost dead and we still haven't found the main reason for his unique abilities" the woman muttered with knitted brows.

"We have checked every part of his body and still nothing, we've run countless tests, it seems like his speciality has nothing to do with his body, it must be from his soul" the light voice of the first man echoed.

He was at wits end, 201 had given him a hard time, they had used all kinds of methods, while they had succeeded in breaking him, the prime hadn't been found, the higher ups would soon come knocking and he was without a result.

"We have no such machine that can check his soul, our technology hasn't reached such stage and to produce such machine we need to be at least 300 or more years ahead in technology, we need someone that has knowledge about teleporter's soul"

The woman's words made the two men think for a while, finally the second man raised his head.

"I don't think it's his soul, I mean research has been done, and the soul was found to be in a fixed state, as the origin of teleporter's powers and of human intellect, it can't be different.

Souls have their specialities but it can't be completely different from others"

He was among the scientists who did the research and there was no way a soul can be different, Derek's difference must be in his body they just haven't searched well enough.

"We've cut open almost every inch of his body, the organization is searching for an expert on the soul case, we need him alive at least to brainwash him.

With his capabilities he will be of great help to the organization, besides we don't really know all his capabilities, he may be better than we thought, he is the first one we've seen with such different abilities"

The words of the first man made the other two to frown, was the first man placing emotions before his duty.

"Do you pity him", the second man queried with knitted brows.

Emotions will surely cause a mistake and the higher ups don't tolerate mistakes, they don't even accept failures, a mistake would be categorized as wasting a prime resource and the punishment, well he doesn't really want to remember.

"Pity...ha!... I'm just saying if he dies, our blood supply is gone and so goes our new payment and also the main ingredient of the drug" The first man replied with a scowl.

"I have a strange feeling right now, love. I love this new material, with his help we could finally beat the Crawford organization" the woman stood up and stretched her body, her top tightened around her chest area, but the bulge was too small to even gain the attention of the two men.

"And we got it right from their hands, how absurd" the second man chuckled, the others also laughed mockingly, the crawfords had suffered a huge loss this time, Derek wasn't even seen as a living person, to them he was a continuous blood bank, which held exclusive blood, that was important for the rise of the organization and their pay.

The door suddenly opened and a young man with fair skin rushed in, with an urgent tone, he hollered "the mediums!, they are finally having a reaction".

"WHAT!!" They shouted at the same time and rushed out of the room. If this was really true then they had finally found a light at the end of the tunnel, imagine an army of teleporters like Derek, the organization would rule the entire stronghold if not more.

The power to completely rule over an entire stronghold, it was a big dream, even the government needs the help of some organizations, the stronghold was too huge to be completely controlled by one power, but if they could mass produce people like Derek, then it would no longer be a big dream but a reality.

Derek's fingers were twitching intermittently and so did the daggers….
