[Los Angeles; Blue Shark Headquarters]
The building that was serving as the facade for the headquarter of the gang was in the full center of Los Angeles
From the outside, it was just a brokerage company. But in reality, it was the cover used by one of the biggest Gangs in K-Town.
Usually, the atmosphere in this place was relatively calm as only the members related to maintaining the finance of the group found themselves there.
But today, there was no such calm. Everyone was busy taking phone call or looking at their computer with disbelief.
Everything started on a morning like usual.
They should have just drank some coffee, complaining a little about some stupid clients while waiting for wall street to open at 9:30 as usual.
But it didn't take long for them to notice that something wasn't right at all as they watched the share prices of more than a dozen of companies that were under Blue Shark start to crash like super comets.
It was like a lightning bolt struck them and no matter what they did, nothing seemed to change this trend.
It did not take long for shareholders to start selling their shares like mad.
"Who can tell me what in the nine hell is happening!?"
The one in charge of the overall operation started to scream like a pig that was about to get gutted.
He knew very well how ruthless their boss was and if this trend continued then he would be done for.
"Someone is targeting us."
He looked at the one who answered like he was an idiot.
"Fucking moron! Do you think I don't know someone targeting us!? Do you think I thought all our shares started to crash simultaneously for no reason? Fuck! Get out now before I slap the teeth out of your mouth."
The poor man could only sigh and sit back. He knew well that telling him to leave was just a show of anger. If he really left then the consequences would be dire.
This short interlude passed and soon another man finally came running with a notepad in hand.
"Team leader! I found the problem!"
No sooner had he finished speaking that he used the notepad and projected different channels on the large screen that was usually used to keep track of all the shares.
Everyone looked up in a daze and watched the different channels sharing the same news.
Hearsay about how so and so company was in fact under the control of Mafia leaders.
Information about how the company managed to grow by using foul means such as spying, thefts, or even assassination.
As if it wasn't enough, it seemed some company had been attacked by environmental activists claiming that they broke all regulations and participated in the poaching of animals near extinction.
"Slander! This is all slander!"
The team leader screamed his lung out but there was nothing he could do to stop this.
The worst was that he knew that the news was all true.
This made things all the more complicated as this meant that someone managed to dig all their secrets and was now trying to bring them down.
"Leader. It seems like someone is starting to buy the shares that are on the market. Some of the shareholders received Tender offer [1]"
The leader's pale face whitened further. He was not happy in the slightest about this news.
'Fuck! This is a hostile takeover.'
He initially thought that whoever did this was an enemy that just wished to see them lose money.
But it seemed like it was a much more insidious bastard.
Obviously, if it was a normal attempt at a takeover, he would have been confident of fighting them off.
But with all the negative news that were being shared…
'Fuck.'
—-
While the companies in the light were being attacked in at least semi-legal way, the situation for the small gangs under the control of Blue Sharks was much bloodier.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunshots filled the air as they tried to protect their position but to no avail.
The current place was a warehouse that at first glance had nothing particularly special.
But if it was all there was to it, the two groups would not fight like this.
This was one of the armories used by Blue Sharks.
Even though most weapons were Sold legally in America, different states had different regulations and in California, the weapon of war military-style semi-automatic rifles could not be sold to civilians.
This warehouse had a large number of weapons for smuggling as well as other important assets.
The gang members who had been chosen to guard the place were not particularly numerous in the first place and soon they were all either shoot to death or simply surrendered.
For many of them, crime was just a means to put food on the table. They had no intention of dying for some man who, most likely, did not even know their names.
When the place was completely swept clean, one of the assailants tapped on his ear.
"N1 is under control."
It didn't take long for him to receive more answers.
[Copy that. N3 and N4 are also under control. Move to the next target. Over.]
"Roger."
The order was received. He moved his fingers and gave clear signs to them and they started moving.
Someone else would come to recuperate the weapon and leave.
They only needed to sweep everything.
"Captain. S1 and so are close by. Why we do avoid them?"
The captain smiled grimly, "N for normal and S for supernatural. I think this answer your question."
"Indeed it does."
They proceeded in silence, wondering inwardly how things were going on the supernatural side but knowing that this was absolutely not their place.
[1]: A tender offer is a term used when a company tries to buy shares through a Premium price. They generally buy the shareholders. The Williams Act of 1968 regulates tender offers and requires the disclosure of all-cash tender offers.
