As Lei Zhen wondered why the hell he was in the hospital in the first place and not gaming in Magnolia, they had already arrived at the first patient.

"This patient had just undergone surgery and required Magnesium Sulfate injection." Samantha checked her tablet and explained to the patient.

After giving these small details, she turned to the three females and stared at the most nervous one, Grace.

"Grace, can you tell me why this patient was injected with Magnesium Sulfate after the surgery?" Samantha asked her.

Seeing this scene being displayed in front of him, Lei Zhen nearly had goosebumps as it reminded him of his past.

What Samantha was doing was testing these new trainees with pop quizzes. And of course, answering correctly doesn't have a prize or reward, but answering incorrectly would result in a series of scolding.

'Poor Grace, the most taboo mistake to make while working in a hospital is to look scared and nervous. If even you are scared, then how would the patients react?' Lei Zhen sighed inwardly, knowing full well that Grace would have a difficult first day.

And sure enough, Grace was completely stunned and had no clue as to why the patient received an injection of Magnesium Sulfate.

"Were those high grades fixed or manipulated? How could you not know something so simple?" Samantha scolded, clearly in disbelief that a simple question was able to stun her.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen was idling as he unconsciously muttered, "Damn, did my Crowd Control skill activate and stunned her?"

Although his tone was low, everyone heard his comment and Samantha was so ready to smack his head.

"Lei Zhen, you seemed to have a lot of humor today. Did you eat too much? Should I have starved you instead so that your mind could not think?" Samantha asked in a not-so-nice tone.

"S-Sorry, Doctor Samantha. Won't happen again, I promise." Lei Zhen hurriedly apologized and shook his head profusely.

Samantha made one last glare at Lei Zhen before glancing at Lily and Amanda.

"Anyway, back to the question before we were rudely interrupted with a sarcastic remark. Do the two of you know the answer?" She then asked them.

"Is it because the patient's medical condition required an injection?" Lily attempted to answer with an unsure response, prompting Samantha to twitch her brows.

"Some high grades you get in college," Samantha commented, turning her attention to Amanda instead.

"What about you, confident girl?"

"It's because of hypomagnesemia. Although rare, it does occur in patients that usually undergo surgery in which there are electrolyte disturbances caused by low serum magnesium levels in the blood." Amanda answered quite confidently.

"Oh? How are you so sure it's hypomagnesemia and not some other symptoms?" Samantha asked further.

"It was stated in the patient's data that the blood has low serum magnesium. I believe that's enough clue to disclose it's hypomagnesemia because if it wasn't then just an injection of magnesium wouldn't have been enough to stabilize the patient's condition." Amanda explained her deduction and that she wasn't just lucky.

Hearing that explanation, Samantha shook her head twice before staring at Lei Zhen.

"What do you think of her response?" She asked him.

And she continued, "Note, if you answer half-heartedly, then you can eat a month of vegetables only."

Instantly, Lei Zhen who seemed to be lifeless revitalized into someone extremely energetic.

"What Amanda said in her deduction wasn't incorrect, but it wasn't correct either. She had only seen the blood has low serum magnesium and concluded it was hypomagnesemia. That's a rash conclusion you can make since there are numerous other cases with similar things." Lei Zhen said, shooting down Amanda's response in no time.

Compared to eating vegetables for a month, Lei Zhen would rather destroy Amanda's confidence than suffer.

Meat is justice, especially those beautiful marbling of Wagyu meats.

How could he forgo the delicious medium-rare meat and replace it with greenery vegetables such as spinach- for a month that is?

"I'm sorry, but where did you get that my conclusion is rash?" Amanda started to question Lei Zhen.

Of course, to Samantha, Amanda dared not overreach her position and accept whatever suggestion she gave.

However, toward Lei Zhen who didn't even have a license, there was no way she would accept his insults toward her response.

Being questioned about his ability, Lei Zhen would normally not care, but Amanda was using an arrogant tone that seemed to look down on him which caused him to be a bit irritated.

"First of all, have you checked on the patient's body condition itself besides reading the medical report only?" Lei Zhen sneered coldly.

And he continued, "Because if you have done so, then you would have noticed the patient had a buildup of acid in the body due to kidney failure, namely Metabolic Acidosis. Hence, the actual reason for the magnesium injection and not because of the so-called low serum magnesium in the blood."

After showing off his knowledge, Amanda was completely stupefied.

"Lei Zhen is the only one correct whereas Amanda only gets partial points for her deduction since the explanation is incorrect. As for the other two, I hope you can study hard and look at the patient's data more carefully. What the textbooks state and what you study in college is a far cry from actual medical treatment of patients." Samantha warned them, making sure that they will take this lesson to mind.

And with Samantha backing him up, Lei Zhen pretended to fix his tie, acting cool and awesome.

Alas, that was too much and when Samantha told the other three females to look at the next patient's data, she gently smacked Lei Zhen at the back of the head.

"What are you acting proud of? They are trainees and you're supposed to become a licensed doctor by now." Samantha scolded him and went ahead to guide the three females.

A few hours later, Lei Zhen could finally take a breather and relax in Samantha's office. As for the three female trainees, they are assigned to some less critical patients and assist some other veteran doctors.

"Here, drink some coffee," Samantha said once she finished brewing some coffee in her office. Since she was always working hard, she had a personal coffee brewing machine in her office, allowing her to drink coffee whenever she felt tired.

"Is it a double shot?" Lei Zhen asked.

"Of course, it's double shot espresso. Otherwise, I'm afraid you might faint from exhaustion alone."

"Not my fault that the three female trainees are complete amateurs. Only Amanda was slightly decent but her confidence needed to be lowered down. Sooner or later, she will encounter an accident because of her arrogance in diagnosing without having a clear picture of the patient's condition."

"Why else did you think I told you to be my assistant?" Samantha smirked coldly.

"I'm not a nanny and don't have time to babysit newbies every single time. Hence, whenever I'm busy with my own things, you will be the one to assist them. And don't worry about other doctors saying that you have no license. I have vouched for your ability to the board of directors so if anyone dares to stop you, then they would have to answer to me." She added.

"This is too much work, Doctor Samantha." Lei Zhen complained slightly, taking a few sips of the coffee. Instantly, the strong espresso could be tasted and the caffeine seemed to be taking effect right away.

"Everyone says that on their first day of work, Assistant Lei Zhen. You'll get used to it." Samantha went back to her chair and began scrolling through her computer.

"Also, I forgot to inform you, but your sister is starting to show signs of awakening when your uncle, Lei Quan, sent over a batch of the SS-Grade Nutrient Solutions for her."

"Really?"

"Yep, her vital signs in the oscilloscope are showing positive results compared to the past and nurses detect that some of her limbs began moving."

Lei Zhen's body was trembling in excitement and before he could open his mouth to ask, Samantha already pointed her finger at the door.

"Go, I'll give you 20 minutes of break time so you can visit your sister."

"You're the best, Doctor Samantha." Lei Zhen said and hurriedly left the office.

A few minutes later, Lei Zhen arrived at Lei Qingxuan's hospital room and a nurse just happened to be monitoring the room.

The nurse was noticeably astonished by Lei Zhen's appearance when she saw his working tag and thought he came to the wrong room.

"This patient is overwatched by Doctor Samantha and without her permission, no other doctors are allowed to oversee her." The nurse warned.

"Oh, I'm the patient's brother, Lei Zhen." Lei Zhen explained, showing his name tag clearly for the nurse to see his name.

"M-My mistake…"

"No worries, you're just doing your job."

Lei Zhen didn't pay it to mind that the nurse was doing her job as he went up to check on Lei Qingxuan's condition.

And sure enough, signs of her awakening were appearing.

"You've been asleep for too long, little sister. It's time to open your eyes again." He whispered softly, feeling blissed that she was finally going to regain her consciousness.

He didn't know how many methods he had tried or attempted to get her to wake up, only to end up in a failure.

Of course, he had even tried to use the S-grade Nutrient Solution in the past, but it was also to no avail.

Who would have thought the upgraded version of the Nutrient Solution would work?

'Just who is the mysterious inventor of such an amazing product?' Lei Zhen wondered silently.
