( Inside Neatwits cabin )
Max felt a little awkward after Neatwit kept staring at his face without saying a word for the first two minutes after he entered his office.
Max was patient for a while, but he then alternated his gaze between Neatwit and Amelia who was standing in the corner behind Neatwit, pleading with his eyes to break this deadlock.
Eventually, Amelia coughed twice to remind Neatwit that he had to speak eventually as the guildmaster of the True Elites sighed deeply.
The persona of Max Rajput had a scar on his face and pupils that were a slightly different shade of red than the ones that Ravan had.
Naturally these were achieved by artificial make-up, but done in a way that was indiscernible to the naked eye.
" You look just like your brother. Handsome and Calm, your overall aura has matured too " Neatwit commented as he recalled the good old times spent with Rudra.
Now that Max had begun shedding his childish look and was transitioning into having the bearing of a man, Neatwit could not help but link him to his blood brother.
While the facial features of the two brothers were slightly distinct, their expressions and bearing were similar, probably picked up from their parents as a child.
Max touched his chin and winked at Amelia, but the latter just glared at him in anger.
Only Max was privy to the information that Amelia had a huge crush on Rudra and found him handsome, which was why he winked at her now, but she did not seem to find the gesture amusing at all.
Gulping, Max looked away, not wanting to face the wrath of an annoyed woman.
" You should have some idea why I called you here… " Neatwit said as he leaned towards Max, resting both his hands on the wooden table between them.
" I know…. " Max said as he met Neatwits eyes.
" So are you up to the task? " Neatwit asked directly, not beating around the bush.
" I can take him on " Max replied confidently as Neatwit nodded his head and leaned back with a smile.
" You know Max, Medivh, Rhino and the others did not believe me when I suggested you are just tier4 at best, because of your accomplishment in killing a tier6 god.
But deep down I knew that if someone could do it, it's you " Neatwit said as he gave Max a rare compliment.
" Is it because I'm my brother's brother? " Max asked self-deprecatingly as he half thought that Neatwit believed in his potential just because he measured him with the same stick as his brother.
" No- it's because you are the only student apart from Bo that Sir Jhonny ever took-in.
Bo right now is a talented assassin, probably the only other mortal I know that has killed a god.
Of Course he's at tier5, so it's not as impressive as you, but it's still something other mortals can't hope to achieve" Neatwit said as Max was surprised by his assessment.
As a child, it was Sir Jhonny who had helped build his fighting fundamentals and the only move that he carried from Omega to Sigma was the ' Ball Crushing ' attack that Sir Jhonny had taught him as a kid.
In private, Sir Jhonny had often said that if there was anyone who had the potential to rival or surpass Rudra someday it was Max, but apart from the dead Rudra and Karna, only Neatwit was present when this conversation happened.
" Your opponent is Eden, a boy who has gotten your brother's legacy from Omega. He is a Knight class warrior just like your brother and has a very rounded overall development.
He has managed to carry two items with him out of Omega, which are the sun-gods bracelet that your brother used often and a high quality sword that I don't recognise.
He has the teleportation move [ Blink ] in his arsenal just like your brother did, which makes him capable of launching sudden sneak attacks and creating openings otherwise impossible.
I don't know his class specific moves, it was something even my inspection spell failed to pick- up on but that only means it's at least at the legendary grade or above.
He has 3 such moves, giving him 3 Trump cards in his arsenal.
If I was confident that someone from the guild could beat him, I would not have sent Amelia to specially summon you.
But as much as I want to discredit the boy, I do have to give him credit that he might be unstoppable within tier4, " Neatwit said as he revealed details about Eden based on his own meeting with the boy.
Max frowned a little, when he had faced the cocky brat inside the casino, he did not have the chance to fight a proper battle, but if the other party had all the hidden cards that Neatwit suggested he had, then it would make him a truly fearsome opponent.
" If he is so good, why did you reject his bid to join the guild? " Max asked curiously as this was one question that he genuinely wanted to know.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom Eden was talented, there was no doubt about it and his entry into any faction was more than welcome because he had the potential to be nurtured into a tier6 god.
But this made his rejection into the True Elites guild all the more bizarre.
" Of Course I wanted him to join Max, you have no idea how much I wanted him in the organisation when I heard about him and saw his swordsmanship that was just like your brother's in the early days.
I wanted to make him an instructor on a high salary, I wanted the entire guild to learn his path, especially the knight class warriors who fought with a balanced stat approach.
But everything changed when I actually met him.
The boy did not come to meet me with the mentality of providing value to the guild, he came to meet me with the belief that the True Elites guild had been created to serve his interests.
He thought that it was a given that we employ him because he was Rudra's legacy holder and worship him as the guild's most cherished member regardless of his contributions.
In this guild, the only individual worthy of the guild's worship is your dead brother and that is because he made it into the powerhouse that it is today single-handedly and apart from him there is NOBODY that this guild serves.
If anybody, including you, walks into this guild demanding it serves them without contributing to the organisation first, then as the guildmaster I must make a point of letting them know that the True Elites have no place for individuals like them ". Neatwit said with authority as Max respected him for his decision.
If Neatwit had allowed Eden to join the guild with such a mentality he would have disrupted the family mentality of the guild and behaved in a manner that was sure to go against the guild's motto of ' One For All and All For One '.
The True Elites had no place for such people that was for sure.
" You made the right call " Max said as he backed Neatwits decision and mentally accepted his role as Earth's champion in the upcoming fight.
