With the riverbed dry and cleared, The clone took a moment to scan the landscape before turning his attention to his First Legion. "Begin," he commanded with a nod, his voice echoing across the empty riverbed.
The soldiers sprang into action. The area under the soon-to-be fort was a chaotic blend of sand, small pebbles, and larger rocks. Clearing this uneven terrain was their first task. With careful precision, they began to shift the rocks and level the ground.
The bigger rocks were moved aside for potential use later, while the smaller ones were ground into a more manageable size. In a matter of a few hours, the riverbed had been transformed into a flat and even construction site.
Once the ground was prepared, the first pieces of the fort started to take form.
Reinforced concrete bricks were unloaded from backpacks, each piece meticulously crafted to fit seamlessly into the others.
Like a colossal jigsaw puzzle, the pieces started to come together. Soldiers worked tirelessly, their movements echoing the disciplined and efficient dance of the Fourth Legion just moments before.
The fort blueprint shared by the True Elites was being held by all captains and construction managers who oversaw the process of the construction, as with everything prebuilt the only job they had to do was of the assembly.
Since there had been an attempt at the orb by traitors, Sebastian and a few other senior soldiers who were all tier4 and above guarded the orb meticulously, not letting any soldier get in the vicinity of the shining piece.
In parallel, the Third Legion, led by Commander DarkSorrow, had also started their task. Unlike the construction of the fort or the dam, their work was less visible but equally critical. The forest surrounding the area was their responsibility, and they had begun to set up a series of traps and defensive positions.
Armed with a variety of materials, they crafted pitfalls, spike traps, and a plethora of other dangerous surprises for any enemy daring enough to traverse the forest. Meanwhile, other soldiers were hard at work digging trenches and setting up barricades, intending to slow down any enemy advancement through the forest.
Every soldier knew their task and worked diligently towards it, their combined efforts slowly transforming the terrain to give the Bloodfall Clan a strategic advantage.
As Max watched his soldiers, he felt a surge of pride. His clan was showing incredible tenacity and skill, everyone working together seamlessly towards a common goal. This was their strength, their unity, and it was this that would see them through the battles to come.
********
( Meanwhile Rudra )
Having omniscient eyes, Rudra could see every corner of the dimensional battlefield right from where he was.
He proudly saw his younger brother part the river in half and create a path for the river to move and was now watching how the Bloodfall clan was working in sync to execute their orders.
He also saw the angels at work near the centre of the light faction territory and the dwarves making their own defensive structures around the disc they were assigned to defend.
Rudra found the weapons deployed by the dwarves to be very interesting.
They had dragon hunting harpoon guns. These hulking machines were nearly twice as tall as the average dwarf and were planted deep into the ground and held steady there by steel rods.
It seemed like they were made to bring dragon's down from the sky forcibly as after a harpoon shot them, the motor would pull them down towards the ground where they could be injured by other weapons.
These harpoons were ready to be unleashed at a moment's notice, their size and power well equipped to penetrate even the toughest dragon scales.
In addition to the harpoon guns, the dwarves had installed a network of automated crossbow turrets designed to handle foot soldiers, particularly the agile and elusive dark elves. These contraptions, operated by complex clockwork mechanisms, had multiple rotating heads which could shoot a hail of arrows in several directions simultaneously.
To combat the ever-looming demon threat, the dwarves had devised an ingenious weapon system. Massive catapults, reinforced with enchanted steel and armed with barrels of highly acidic liquid, were strategically placed around the disc's perimeter. With a single release, these catapults could shower invading demons with acid strong enough to melt through metal doors and kill countless demons with each shot.
Their assigned defence point of the dwarves was a disc located in the heart of a mountain, a strategic position that provided them with the advantage of natural barriers. The dwarves, famous for their engineering marvels and sturdy constructions, had started transforming the surrounding landscape into an unbreachable fortress.
Throughout the stronghold, countless dwarves scurried around, fortifying their defences, testing the machines, and ensuring that every weapon was ready to rain hell on any attacker daring to approach the mountain.
Although visually they looked the most impressive, Rudra had a gnawing understanding that of all the disc protectors this was the weakest link of the light faction.
Except for their monarch the Forger King and a handful of other god level warriors, the dwarves did not have a large enough legion of elite warriors.
With the majority of the dwarven culture revolving around a life in the Smithy, not many preferred picking a weapon and diving too deeply in the profession of a warrior and that lack of cultural stimulus reflected in the quality composition of their army.
The dwarves were overly reliant on their unique weapons to overcome their lack of actual combat prowess as without that an average Bloodfall clan warrior at tier4 would easily slaughter 3 dwarven warriors at tier4 in a one vs three battle.
Rudra genuinely hoped that the disc that the dwarves were protecting would trigger last when some other monarchs and legions could cover them, because on their own Rudra doubted if they could repel the might of the dark faction.
