Max's instincts were screaming at him that something was wrong-

He was fighting superbly against the dragons, his clan was also fighting well and had almost wiped out the entire ghoul forces, yet something about the whole scenario seemed amiss.

Somehow Max felt that the outcome of this battle did not matter at all and that he was wasting his time in a pointless fight.

The reason he felt this way was because of his trained subconscious mind that could grasp at the hints that his conscious mind had missed.

The first hint was the fact that despite not every dark faction dragon embroiled in fight against a light faction dragon, they did not even bat an eye at the Bloodfall clan troops underneath or try and attack them.

Despite having a clear opportunity to engage with the fourth legion that was pestering them with tiny arrows, no dragon even bothered to look down and try to burn them to ashes.

To them, the very existence of the Bloodfall Clan made no difference.

The only reason they had allied with Satan was to draw out Rhea and the rest of her followers from the black and golden dragon clans.

The second hint was that from his vantage view at a height he could notice the developments on the western front with the corner of his eyes.

The tactic to lure the werewolves was looking like it was working, but for a species like the werewolves who were rumoured to be wild and filled with hatred against the vampires, the current assault looked tame.

The fight on the western front should have been as dirty as the one that the dragons were having, yet it was not!

The werewolves were not sinking their teeth into vampire flesh despite having their sworn enemies in front of their eyes as they should have, but it rather looked like they were waiting for a signal.

The final hint for him came when the signal for the disc raid was lit as the werewolves immediately changed track and on the other side, the massive tower of Satan was suddenly demolished.

At that moment he knew that he was missing the bigger picture for sure.

Looking below, he glanced at the battlefield below and saw the old man smiling at him.

Although the smile appeared to be kind, It was one of those smiles that adults gave to children when they knew the children were doing something wrong but did not have the heart to correct them.

It was a smile that he had often seen on the face of his father as a kid, a smile that he recognised all too well.

" No…. " Max murmured as he jumped off Mira's back and made a snap decision to confront the old man.

Mira was taken by surprise when Max suddenly left her side, however, while Max dodged the incoming attacks as a result of his small frame and agility to safely land on the ground below, Mira still had to focus on the fight and had no room for being distracted.

Landing right beside Rudra, Max frantically asked " Old man, I'm missing something ain't I? What's happening here? What am I not understanding? "

Max wanted an immediate answer, the suspense was driving him crazy.

He felt like he had fog covering his thoughts, he could see the silhouette of an idea forming, but couldn't grasp it in its entirety and needed the old man to shed some light on it to understand what was going on.

Rudra smiled, he was proud of Max to at least understand that there were bigger stakes involved.

This went to show that Max was not of the pawn mentality and just like himself, his brother too was aware of higher powers being at play. I think you should take a look at ραΠdαsnovel.cοm

For Rudra the destruction of the vampire disc did not matter at all.

If his personal plan succeeded, the tide of the war would shift in a way that it wouldn't matter if the light faction had 7 discs remaining to protect or only 1.

But for his brother this was a great opportunity.

ραndαsΝοvεl.cοm The Elites were on their way and so were the elves.

What they needed at the moment was more time, and although it was extremely difficult, Rudra knew that his brother had the strength to stall the enemy long enough for the light faction armies to come into a defensive position.

If he sent his brother away to block the advance of the demon army, he could potentially save the light faction disc from being destroyed while making Max a hero, but the question was should he do it or not?

The risk involved in the operation was extremely high. Max could lose his life trying to hold back a sea of enemies, and even if he succeeded, it wasn't like him saving the disc would even matter in the end.

Rudra felt inner turmoil, however, he knew he needed to let Max go and fight.

It was moments like this one which turned a man into a warrior and a warrior into a legend.

Max had ambitions of his own in the vampire society, and this was his chance to become an unquestionable pillar of his society who would be revered as much as their king.

Rudra could not deny him this opportunity and hence he decided to direct Max in the right direction.

" The vampire disc raid has been triggered and the demons are approaching it fast.

The Elites and the elves are on the move but they need more time to get into the proper defensive shape.

If you can hold out an army of 20 million bloodthirsty demons as they hope to cross a narrow valley, you can potentially save your clan's disc from confirmed destruction.

It won't be easy

Although you won't face a tier7 opponent you will be facing over 200 tier6 gods-

You don't need to kill them all, but you need to stall them for as long as you can.

Nobody amongst the vampires knows that they are facing such a difficulty.

So if you don't respond to this threat and pretend that you never heard my words, nobody will be any wiser, but I leave the final decision up to you " Rudra said as he began scratching on the ground below, giving Max time to think.

Max was shocked by Rudra's words as he understood the meaning behind it.

If he wanted to save the vampire disc, he needed to face an unprecedented number of enemies alone, however, if he did not muster up the courage and try, the vampires would undoubtedly lose their disc.

Faced with a tough decision, Max contemplated what to do standing in the middle of a chaotic battlefield.
