Following Valyr's request of wanting to arrive at Danyhris Town faster, Tristan went ahead and signaled the horse to increase its pace. With that, rather than arriving at the gates of the town within a couple days, they had arrived a few kilometers away from it on the afternoon of the following day.
Employing the effect of [Gambler's Discerning Eyes] to great use, Valyr mouthed out a faint wow as he looked at the town within their field of vision with a hint of awe. Though Danyhris Town was classified as a town, from how large the walls surrounding the town were, Valyr could not help but think that it seemed more like a city, given its grandeur.
With its occupied area being around 80% of the area Anadhar City occupied, Valyr could not help but feel like those that thought of placing a Blacksmith Guild branch in this town had the right idea. Unsurprisingly, following the theme of the town feeling more like a city instead of a town, the buildings lined up on the sides of the main street had a similar design to the ones found in the cities Valyr could recall, prompting him to think that Danyhris Town might transform into Danyhris City in the near future.
As their carriage passed through the town gates, eventually parking it at a designated area for carriages coming from the outside, Valyr and Tristan eventually hopped off the carriage, paying the entrance fee to the town guard that had accompanied them to the area. After that, the two of them then walked along the town's main streets, with Valyr finding a sense of belonging in the town.
From what he could see in his field of vision so far, the entire town seemed to be in a festive atmosphere, making him curious as to whether or not something special was happening in town just as they had arrived.
While Valyr was wondering as to what this event may be, Tristan looked around for a while before eventually nodding. "Ah. It seems we've arrived at Danyhris at that time of the year."
"That time of the year?" Naturally, Tristan's words piqued Valyr's interest, wondering what the former meant by that.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom "Let me fill you in on a couple things, Valyr." Seeing as it was an opportunity to flex the greater amount of knowledge he had, Tristan slightly puffed out his chest with pride as they continued to make their way to the branch of the Blacksmith Guild located in the town.
"Danyhris Town is a town that focuses on forging, with its founder, a well-renowned blacksmith, becoming the reason why the town had been established in the first place. In fact, it has a nickname that fits this same thought, being called the Little Blacksmith Haven," Tristan explained, with Valyr listening attentively as they continued to walk.
"As their founder was a blacksmith, and the town being mostly focused on forging, they eventually decided to dedicate a whole week to celebrate the founding of the town, as well as the craft of forging itself, gaining the name of the Forge Festival." Hearing those words, Valyr finally understood what was going on, thinking that they had come at the town while the Forge Festival was still ongoing.
"I'll show you around the town later to let you see the Forge Festival from up close. For now, let's prioritize my badge renewal and your registry to the Blacksmith Guild." Saying those words, Tristan went ahead and increased his pace, to which Valyr had no choice but to follow suit. Eventually, after walking for a few minutes, they arrived at the front of a building that undoubtedly stood out among the various buildings in its vicinity.
Aside from the sheer scale of the building before them, the grandeur it exuded and the attention to detail on its exterior was enough for one to think that the building served a far greater purpose. Taking a peek through the entrance with [Gambler's Discerning Eyes] activated, Valyr could not help but notice a few furnaces at the far end of the main hall, with multiple people seemingly engrossed in the process of forging equipment.
Briefly glancing at the exquisitely crafted sign hanging above the entrance that said "Blacksmith Guild, Danyhris Town Branch", the two of them went ahead and entered the building, swiftly being greeted by the warm air that came about from the residual heat emanating from the furnaces Valyr had noticed earlier.
Looking around, Valyr noticed that the right section of the main hall had many people congregating around it, eventually noticing the counters that were lined up at the edge of the right section. With that in mind, it did not take too long for him to realize that the right section was dedicated for the registry of new members, as well as the renewal of identification for old members.
In contrast, the left section of the main hall more or less felt like Tristan's smithy back in Astarto Village, being littered to the brim with anvils, furnaces, forging hammers, crafting materials, and sweaty people toiling away at forging equipment.
With Tristan placing his hand on his shoulder, Valyr's attention quickly shifted towards Tristan as the latter pointed in the direction of the multiple counters on the right section. "You go on ahead and line up to get yourself registered. I'll head to another counter for my renewal."
Nodding in response, the two of them went their separate ways as Valyr lined up in front of one of the queues that was near the entrance. On the other hand, Tristan headed to the far end of the right section, lining up on the shorter queues after showing his identification badge to a person that seemingly barred non-members from queuing there.
While on the queue, Valyr passively listened to the conversations that were happening around him, hearing mentions of a forging-related tournament happening in town tomorrow. Though, just as he was about to gain more details on the specifics of the tournament, he had arrived in front of one of the counters, coming face-to-face with one of the attendants working for the Blacksmith Guild.
"Welcome to the Blacksmith Guild's Danyhris Town branch. My name is Michael. How may I help you today?" Hearing those words, Valyr shifted his attention to the man on the other side of the counter, nodding before opening his mouth.
"I would like to register as a member."
"Certainly. Please pay a silver coin as registration fee and we shall proceed with the registration process." In response, Michael nodded before informing Valyr of what to do. Seeing as Valyr had plopped a silver coin on the counter separating the two of them, he nodded once more in agreement as he smoothly moved the coin away from their field of vision.
"Your name?" As he asked this question, Michael brought out a thin tablet that faintly glowed a light blue color, giving Valyr the feeling that the tablet was powered by mana.
"Valyr Zeihardt." Of course, even though he was curious, Valyr went ahead and complied with the instructions, with Michael nodding as a few strands of mana came out of his body before entering the tablet he held.
"Current rank?"
"Rank 1."
Once more, a few strands of mana came out of Michael's body, being engraved on the thin tablet he held. After that, he sent out a few more strands of mana to the tablet before placing it to the side as he directed Valyr to another part of the building.
"Alright, sir Valyr. With all of that done, the Blacksmith Guild shall now record your current class and affirm that you are indeed a blacksmith by having you craft a piece of equipment under the supervision of a proctor. Do you have any problems with that?"
"None at all." In response to the question, Valyr shook his head, earning another nod from Michael.
"Alright then. Please follow me."
