Chapter 215.2
Chapter 215.2. Let’s Confirm The Current Situation
-Miu’s POV-
“Invade Yggdrasil? Are you serious?”
I frowned, and Freya licked the whipped cream of the newly brought cafe mocha. It was sweet and delicious.
Maybe Vienna Coffee would have been better.
“Oh? Isn’t it simple? Why not send Hugin and Munin for reconnaissance?”
“But since it’s an island, they would stand out if they flew over.”
“Exactly. Hugin and Munin’s power lies in not being found.”
Frigg-oneesan and Freya seemed to agree on sending the ravens, but Mii-chan was against it.
She lay on the sofa with her ice-blue eyes narrowed and her chin in her hand.
“I’d rather not do that.”
“Is the young lady worried about the presence of gods? If there are gods, they would notice Hugin and Munin. It could expose our plans.”
“That’s right. I probably think someone is a god. Likely, it’s Skadi.”
“Hmm… Not Thiazi, the mastermind?”
Odin, the wise grandpa, pointed out. I rolled over and lay face down, expressing her reason.
“In the original story, there was something odd. The high priest Skadi excels in [Sacrifice], using side characters as [Offerings] multiple times to heal the wounded five.”
“But if the side characters were the mastermind… that’s strange. So, how was the battle with Skadi?”
“At the time of Ashtaroth’s revival, I defeated her easily. After that, the true mastermind, Thiazi, performed the resurrection ritual. Sacrificing her own life.”
Skadi, being a recovery magician, was easily defeated.
However, she pretended to be unconscious after the battle, and while Shin and the others are relieved that their battle is over, the side characters secretly performed the resurrection ritual.
The airy players shouted, “Behind you, Shin!”. I was yelling at him too.
We wouldn’t engage Thiazi in combat. Thiazi would just laugh heartily and sacrifice themselves as offerings.
Thiazi changes the battle tide through [Sacrifice]. Without engaging in battles, Thiazi became offerings and brought about Ashataroth’s resurrection.
I thought the story had inconsistencies, but if Skadi, who had disappeared without a trace, was the real boss. The story would make sense.
Skadi is pretending to be a fake boss when she’s the real one. No one would suspect that the boss they once thought was fake is the true one.
Skadi had been using [Sacrifice] from the beginning. That’s all there was to it.
“The young lady is as sharp as ever. Why are you usually clueless? But when you get serious, you show such terrifying wisdom?”
“Well, um, I guess I can find differences between the original and reality. It’s just Mii-tan’s unique talent.”
Frigg-oneesan looked exasperated as she sipped her café au lait, while Freya complimented me, curling her platinum-blonde hair around her finger.
Blushing a little at the excessive praise, I patted her feet playfully.
“However, it’s not certain that Skadi is a god, right?”
“That’s why it’s just a possibility. If Skadi was the original administrator of this world, I think she might want to create a new world under her rule. So, the ones who time-leaped are Shin, Sena, and Skadi, I presume?”
Shin’s body underwent a complete time leap. Sena is only her mind.
As for Skadi, though her status was unknown, if she’s a god, she likely joined the time leap.
However, when Mii-chan shared her reasoning with the stern-looking Grandpa Odin, he shook his head.
It seemed her theory was off the mark.
“That’s the thing… Are they time-leaping?”
“Huh? But it seemed like Shin and Sena knew about the future.”
Especially the blueprint of the Frost Giant, something only a person from the future would know.
Something must be different, right?
“Time is inherently irreversible. It’s a fact known among gods. Changing the past is impossible.”
“That’s right. Even as a complete god, you can’t go back in time. If that were possible, gods could never be defeated or controlled by others. Even if you think you’re going back to the past, you’re just going to a similar parallel world.”
Grandpa Odin and Frigg-oneesan explained the mind-boggling concept. Indeed, time travel could lead to paradoxes, like the classic proverb.
“Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”
If you change the past to affect the future, where does the timeline of the time-traveling world originate?
“I see… I’ve always felt it was odd that Chronos, who rules time, was defeated by Zeus, the god of thunder. But now, it makes sense. Hmmm, so it’s precognition?”
But wouldn’t that make Shin’s age weird? Moreover, it’s unlikely that Sena and the others also possess precognitive abilities.
“Yes… I’ve been pondering this issue for quite some time. And I have a hypothesis.”
“Ohh, tell us!”
With an eager sparkle in her ice-blue eyes, I leaned forward, eager to ask questions. Frigg-oneesan and Freya also focused their gaze on Grandpa Odin.
But he shook his head slowly.
“We need to gather more information. Perhaps the truth will become clear when we defeat Ashtaroth.”
With those words, Odin’s one eye shone with profound wisdom.
If anyone can figure it out before then, it’s Grandpa Odin. We’re looking forward to it.
