Chapter 288.2

Chapter 288.2. Heading Towards The Next God Realm

“Alright, let’s quickly make our way to my destination.”

“You’re not planning to rewrite the ritual magic circle created by other gods? In that case, it would be faster to build one from scratch. After all, they’ve layered multiple complex magic circles to make it impossible to rewrite. It’s so complicated that even I can’t quite understand it.”

“Heimdall, you really just have good eyesight, don’t you? But it’s okay.”

He’s a stupid god who laughs and has no idea. Unlike Heimdall, Mii-chan’s System-san sees and analyzes everything effortlessly.

“Please do it!”

Standing in front of the magic circle, I requested, and the magic circle began to discharge sparks. Each line gradually shone with a platinum color, and the inscribed characters began to warp and change.

“I can’t believe this! Is Odin really couldn’t do the impossible?”

“There’s nothing that System-san can’t do. There’s no such thing as a game that’s unbeatable.”

I informed Heimdall, who was in awe, with a slight smile on my cherry blossom-colored lips.

As the faces of Mii-chan and Heimdall got illuminated by the light emitted by the magic circle, the platinum magic circle completed, and a sliding door appeared at its center.

“W-What is this, Lady?”

“Don’t you know? It’s a door made of wood and paper, overflowing with Japanese sentiment.”

“Ehh… No, it’s not that. It’s just that. The atmosphere is a bit different?”

Heimdall made a bewildered face. It seemed like he had something to say, but I couldn’t quite grasp it.

Besides, sliding doors are more practical. They’re easier to enter.

-Caution: Communication will be impossible from this point. All support will be cut off-

-Will you go through the dimensional door? Yes/No-

System-san gave a warning, but there was no issue at all.

I would jump into the sun if it meant saving Tamamo.

“Of course, the answer is -Yes-! Alright, here we go!”

I kicked the sliding door forcefully. It easily broke into pieces and rolled away.

“Oh my, did you have to break it?”

“It’s the kind of thing that good kids shouldn’t imitate! Alright, let’s go!”

We leaped into the gate with great momentum. A pure white world appeared in her vision. It was a river of light inside. Mii-chan and the others got swept away at an astonishing speed, like leaves in a fierce current.

“Whoa! What a shock! My body feels like it’s breaking apart!”

The Hyoe doll clinging desperately to my shoulder was noisy. It was a painful and shocking experience that felt like my body was about to disintegrate.

Amidst the raging storm, my hair fluttered wildly, and my toga threatened to be blown away.

The torrent of light energy assaulted Mii-chan, and she clenched her teeth to endure it.

While being swept away by the torrent of energy, I caught glimpses of the outside world. Various worlds were visible, but all of them had turned into ash.

“This… this scenery… we got destroyed by flames…”

Heimdall was being extremely noisy in my ear. Maybe I should toss him away.

In the midst of the high-speed flow of scenes, the only intact world came into view. Gentle light streamed in, and there was a wide grassy field…

A girl was leisurely eating a giant parfait. When she noticed Mii-chan, she smiled and opened her mouth.

-D?o?y?o?u?r?b?e?s?t?!-

The world quickly passed by, and ahead of the torrent, a pitch-black entrance became visible.

“Ah, leave it to me! After all, I’m good at games!”

With a smirk like a predatory bird, Mii-chan jumped into the pitch-black exit.

Upon arrival, she tumbled and rolled. I felt the sensation of a hard floor. It was quite painful. I collided with something with a crash and finally stopped.

“Ow… Where is this, Heimdall?”

There was a nauseating smell in the air, and I wrinkled my nose as I got up.

“What’s this? Garbage? Did I dive into a trash bin? How unlucky. But I guess it’s better than the sky.”

Looking around, she saw that the walls had collapsed, the ceiling had fallen, and the place was a pile of rubble. And behind Mii-chan was a mountain of garbage.

“I need to take a bath. Seriously. But it seems like this world is a hit.”

The partially destroyed building was a concrete skyscraper. It was pitch-black outside as if it were nighttime. But in the distance, she could see the neon glow, making it seem like modern-day Japan.

“Is this a slum? Heimdall, can you see where Tamamo-chan is? …Heimdall?”

Heimdall, who had been making a fuss earlier, was now quiet. I felt something was off and looked at Heimdall, who was clinging to my shoulder. He wasn’t moving at all.

“Heimdall?”

When I grabbed Heimdall, he had turned into a plain doll. It looked like one of those knock-off dolls you’d find in a game center.

“Just a moment ago, he was a living fairy… Huh? Why is this happening?”

For some reason, my field of vision was lower, and my hands holding the doll were smaller than usual. What’s going on? It’s like I’m getting younger.

Looking around, I saw darkness stretching out, and it was eerily quiet. Occasionally, I could hear the squeaking of mice.

Anxiety washed over me, making me feel vulnerable.

“Where is this? Mama, papa?”

Tears welled up in her eyes, and I cried. Why was I here? I was supposed to be sleeping in her room.

I clutched the doll and started to walk. I was barefoot, so my footsteps made a pattering sound. Her charred clothes were dirty.

“Mama, papa!”

She walked through a dark, seemingly haunted building, crying out in fear.

“Huh? Why is such a little kid here?”

Someone emerged from a broken house, so I clutched the doll tightly and crouched in fear.

“Don’t be scared of ghosts or anything! Mii-chan is a strong girl!”

“Oh… What? An abandoned child?”

In the moonlight, a scary-looking onee-san stood there. She had fox ears and a tail and was glaring at me.

“Mama, papa, where are you? Mii-chan is here!”

Curling up her small body like a 5 years old, Mii-chan continued to cry, urging them to come and pick her up.
