Chapter 64.1. Masatoshi Meets The Heroine

-Masatoshi’s POV-

Time rewinds a bit. It was shortly before the scissors mantis appeared.

Aguni Masatoshi, the eldest son of a duke, the highest title in the Japanese Magic Empire, was enjoying his 10 year old’s debut party in the party hall of the imperial castle, where only high-ranking nobles are allowed.

The 10 year old’s unveiling party, hosted by the emperor, is said to be a luxurious and gorgeous party. The food served at the party hall in the commoner section and the party hall in the garden of the lower nobility section is delicious, diverse, and great.

However, the party in the castle is of a far different caliber. Starting with the meat dish of the rarely caught High Horned Bear Shark, there is an array of dishes based on ingredients people normally cannot buy even if they have a lot of money, such as caviar of Flying Super Shark, flame mushrooms, and platinum truffles. Unlike butterfly sharks, flying super sharks are said to be extremely strong monsters.

Under the light of the beautiful and gorgeous chandelier made of only magic jewels, the high-ranking nobles were enjoying themselves in clothes that would allow a commoner to live for a lifetime with just one piece.

They were having a good time. Masatoshi would like to think so.

“Well, Masatoshi-sama can master the magic of fire at your age. It’s wonderful.”

“I’d like to visit Masatoshi-sama’s house next time.”

“We were born at the same age. What do you think about forming a clan of our own?

As usual, the cronies were talking to each other in their usual lackey-like manner. Both men and women are sycophants, but…

“You guys, a little more …… no, it’s nothing. Well, let’s enjoy the party, shall we?”

As usual, things are different. The kids are talking in a way that is unbecoming of children. Their parent must tell them to do that.

The adults are glazed over and praise Masatoshi. Masatoshi, who usually rarely speaks to adults, was fed up.

Now that the ceremony was over, he would go to parties more often. Will he have to keep listening to these sycophants?

The servants were so afraid of him that they hardly spoke to him, and few had ever used sycophancy. The cronies, too, had the innocence of children, and even when they did use their pleasantries, it was with little more than a faltering smile and a little less than a hint of concern. But things would be different from now on.

In his previous life, he was an otaku and a former freelancer, which was troublesome. He didn’t go to school and shut himself away because he was somewhat annoying and reclusive. Growing up in a ducal household, he learned etiquette and became more confident in my strength, but his personality remained the same.

If they were servants, he could kick them to the curb for being noisy and sanctioning him, but here they were high-ranking nobles he would have on his side in the future. And he could easily foresee the ruin that awaited him if he did whatever he wanted, so he responded with an affectionate smile.

Frankly, it is exhausting. Masatoshi was fed up with being rich and thought that the future would be great, it would be different from what he expected. But life with money is wonderful. Like in his previous life, he doesn’t have to force his parents to pay him if he doesn’t have money. He was a rich man who could buy a paid gacha game company, so he sighed and said his patience was necessary.

“Are you enjoying yourself, Aguni-sama?”

A clear, pretty girl’s voice called out to him, and he turned around and bowed reverently in return.

“This is Genshin-sama. Yes, I am enjoying it. I’ve never seen so much food before, and very impressed.”

“Phew. I’ve never seen this much food before either! Because my father had forbidden me to attend the party until the coming-of-age ceremony.”

She smiles happily, and the air around her becomes warm and relaxed. Masatoshi looks at the other, impressed that she’s a heroine just by that smile.

The one who approached him was Genshin Sena. She’s the emperor’s daughter. She is the only imperial princess in the royal family. Masatoshi knew that her brothers adored her.

Her silver hair, which reached down to her waist and looked like platinum. Her eyes were as red as rubies. She has a beautiful face like a goddess, where prettiness and beauty coexist. She wears a jeweled platinum tiara and a glittering dress befitting an imperial princess. She’s a specialist in recovery magic and plays the heroine role in The Night of Magic with her polite manner, gentle personality, and somewhat mischievous.

She’s also a person whose state of mind is described by others besides the main character, and Masatoshi feels reassured. He vaguely thought that a character whose mental state is only slightly portrayed shouldn’t have the same image as the original, so Seina was a partner he could feel at ease with, just like the main character.

In the original story, she was an in-between character who somehow was not there every time the plot needed recovery magic. Well, that was the fault of the original author, so he doesn’t care.

“From now we are going to be at a lot of parties, aren’t we?”

“Yes, it’s a bit troublesome. Ah, this is a secret, right?”

Standing next to Sena is Shin. Kanna Shin. The original The Night of Magic’s main character. For some reason, he’s standing next to Sena. What happened to his fiancé? He wants to escort he, but he knows she’s stuck at home with the mumps.

He also knows that a few days after this, he and her fiancé, who has recovered, will have a small party, just the two of them. So it is not surprising that he’s next to Sena. Sena liked Shin after talking to him for a bit. Masatoshi, who is a god, knew that she liked him because she was a recovery magician and an imperial family member. But Shin treats her like a normal human being.

This modern fantasy world, unlike otherworld fantasy, isn’t particularly bothered by relationships between men and women. There is no such thing as avoiding being alone with someone when talking in a room because you’re a noble or forbidding talking intimately to someone engaged to someone else. They can have normal friendships.

“Yes, it’s a little bothersome. I’m sick of it too.”

He shrugs his shoulders and makes a joke.

Sena is Masatoshi’s favorite. She’s a clone template of a heroine with the usual silver hair and red eyes, but that’s how popular silver-haired and red-eyed are. And Masatoshi loves her as well.

And it’s also because he knows how to raise her likability.

Besides the events, of course, he has to earn her likability. Therefore, Masatoshi had a secret plan. What is the secret?
