'A minute had remained,' I informed the people.
It had been more than half an hour since we had finished with the essence, but the shaman was still trying to break through it.
I watched with the bated breath and looked at all the things I had in my storage. Especially the three things that could help me. They will be dangerous to not only the shaman but will also kill me.
I am planning to use them as a threat, before actually using them. If it didn't work out. It would be a much better death than the one cultist would give me.
BANNNNG!
Seconds passed and finally, the last bang rang out, breaking the protective shield into pieces.
He immediately flew out of the place he was sitting and appeared high in the sky, looking down at the thousands of people with the deep anger in his eyes.
"Reveal yourself and I promise you, the pain you receive much less than what you will feel when I find you myself," he threatened.
Hun!
I opened my mouth and was about to speak when I sensed something and decided to take the risk.
He immediately sensed it and looked up as the woman gently floated inside the dome. Seeing her, his eyes widened, and that confidence in his eyes begin to shake seeing her, while fear appeared in the eyes of a cultist.
I looked at the woman.
She is human mostly, likely half-human, with average facial features, but she is not an average woman.
She has deep blue hair and black twin horns over her head and black tell. Her eyes and more interesting; they are red as blood and shone as she smiled.
"Victor, it's been a while," said the woman gently, with a small smile on her face.
"Hunter," he replied with a gritted tooth.
The red hunter of alkaz.
The woman's name is Carla Sooth, but around the world, she is known as a red hunter of alkaz. I heard, she was the one, that dealt with the cultist after I and others escaped from the blood-red tower.
She is the most famous member of Alkaz, below the Prime, and has the greatest record of cultist kills in the past five thousand years.
She is also said to be a grade 4 strength.
I heard she had come to the ruin, but didn't expect she would be here. I was kind of angry with her whole alkaz. These bastards knew, these cultists of beast god cults are planning something big, but still weren't able to catch them.
Though, I won't be angry if she was able to deal with the shaman bastard.
"I have to say, Victor; you had fooled me. If it weren't for someone outsmarting you; I have might have been too late to save these people," she said.
He smiled, hearing that, but not with the mirth, but anger.
"You are speaking like you could?" he asked, and the small smile on her face, spread further. "I could, and this time, there is only one of you. So, I don't think, I will have a much of a problem," she replied.
BANNNNNNG!
She barely finished the word when I saw the violet blur and heard a deafening sound that sent out a powerful shockwave that shook all under the protective screen.
Still, it took a while for the energy to clear and I saw them close to each other.
The cultist shaman has a black spear in his hand, while the woman has two dueling sabers holding it in its place.
"You seemed to have reached the limit, Victor. Your strength seemed to be the same since we had fought last time," she said.
There was no mocking in her voice; it was gentle and sweet, but it had made him angry.
"You are judging, too quickly, hunter," he said with the gritted teeth. "Maybe I am, we will know that soon enough, but before that happens, we should shift the above. We both didn't want these people to come to harm," she said, to which he nodded.
"Yes, I am going to keep these vermin's safe for sacrifice, till I dealt with you," he said, and they both flew out of the dome.
I wish they would have stayed. I would have been able to see the result of the battle, but now, I won't be able to with the leaving.
Though, I won't be completely blind. If they fight closer, I could still be able to observe the battle through the energies, that clashed against the dome.
I focused on that, but before that, I connected the people with each other. So, they talk among themselves. If she hadn't succeeded in stopping the cultist, then it would be the last conversation, they would have.
For a few seconds, there was a silence before I felt the powerful energies crashing against the dome.
My clone had quickly calculated them and informed me where they were fighting. Which is right above the dome and is high enough, that even if fight with all their strength, their shockwave won't affect the dome much.
A few minutes passed, and a smile appeared on my face.
For the few minutes, I have been trying to wipe imprints from the red stone and I have finally succeeded.
While it won't help me much, if the cultist wins, but with it, I will be able to make things harder for him. I can now have enough access that I could mess up these stones, that they won't be able to do what they were planning to.
It is another leverage.
I started on the white gem, which once again won't affect things much, but it will keep me occupied, from the battle, which will be decided by my and these people's fate.
I hate depending on others, but here once again, I had my fate in the hands of others. Many times, I wish I hadn't let my curiosity get over me and should have left, instead of coming toward the source of the explosion.
I might not have been in this predicament if I had.
