"I'm going to meet my son, Yue Yan." Her master said while he was packing his things in a bag.
"What??? You never told me you have a son." The little girl said with a surprised expression and a disappointed tone.
"You never asked me, Xue'er." He replied in a doting voice to his little disciple.
"Ummm...Master..." She said with a hesitant tone as she wanted to ask something that bothered her.
"What happened, Xue'er?" Yue Hao asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Who do you love more, him or me?" She asked with a puzzled look.
"Answer me first, who do you love more, your father or me?" Her Master turned the question towards her and asked it back as he stopped arranging his bag.
"Father doesn't have time for me. He stays busy with his work." Little Cang Xue said in a sorrowful tone without answering his question.
"His Majesty has the responsibility of this country. So it's hard for him to find time for you." He spoke to her and patted her head as if an elder convincing a little junior.
"So who would you love more between me and your son?" The blonde-haired girl asked again.
pαпdα Йᴏνê1,сòМ Little Xue didn't know the sensitivity behind her words. The question was childish indeed but wasn't she only a ten-year-old child herself?
Cang Xue thought Yue Yan at least had received the love of his mother while she had no one. Even her father didn't have time for her.
The girl grew up in a harsh environment of receiving no love as her mother passed away at a young age.
The stepmother of Cang Xue didn't adore her and the step-sister was the same. Cang Xue's father was busy with Empire's responsibilities so she was an orphan with a golden spoon.
When Yue Hao came she disliked him at first but as time passed she realized he wasn't like others. He didn't sweet talk to her and wanted any favor from her like others usually did. So the young princess started trusting her master more.
"I'm here because of My son. He was born with a broken meridian. Emperor said that he would give me dragon orchid root if I take you as my disciple." Yue Hao gave her an honest answer, as he didn't want to deceive little Xue.
Her doll-like face became downhearted upon hearing his words as a streak of tears flowed down from her eyes.
"I always thought you would be different from others. But you're also like those greedy humans who treated me well only for receiving some benefits." She said in an enraged tone before leaving the room as her eyes were moist.
Yue Hao's heart ached to see the little girl cry but he didn't have a solution for her unhappiness. He couldn't lie to her.
"The world isn't a wish-granting factory otherwise I would've made you my daughter-in-law in the future since you're my beloved disciple.
That way it would be Yue Yan's responsibility to love you the most and never let your eyes have any tears. But heaven didn't make it easy for my son." He mumbled in a sorrowful voice.
Yue Hao was unaware of the fact that his words would be heard by his good-for-nothing son who made his beloved disciple cry all these years.
He went back home to meet his child and came back after three months.
"You're doing that wrong, Xue'er." Yue Hao tenderly instructed her.
"Okay." Cang Xue said with puffed cheeks as she didn't talk much with her master and gave him cold shoulders.
Her distant treatment continued after that towards Yue Hao for hiding the truth.
Two years passed...
It was a stormy night, dark and ominous, with thick clouds blocking out the moonlight and glittering stars. The wind howled through the trees as it whipped the branches and leaves into a hysteria.
Lightning illuminated the sky, followed by the heavy rumbling of thunder from time to time that seemed to instill fear into the people living in Phoenix city as if it was foreboding for everyone to be careful of a calamity
Despite the chaos outside, A black-haired man sneaked into the castle and entered the princess's room from the windows.
"Why are you here, Master," Cang Xue asked Yue Hao who was drenched in rain and came without knocking.
She rubbed her eyes, as the man woke her up from her deep sleep.
"We don't have much time, Xue'er. Get on my back." He instructed her to hurry in a serious tone.
She didn't question him as Cang Xue trusted him more than anyone. Their master-disciple relationship had become better in these two years as the young girl couldn't stay mad at him for a long time.
The little princess wrapped her hands around his neck and they ran out of the castle.
Dozens of men in black clothes were chasing them.
They were tall and thin, their faces were hidden behind a mask that kept their identity a secret. They moved with a predatory grace, their robes flowing behind them, and their eyes flickered with a cold and sinister light.
It was only a matter of time before they caught the duo as they had preplanned to surround them from different directions.
"Who are those people that coming after us," Cang Xue asked with a puzzled face.
Yue Hao couldn't answer her as he was hesitant and it could break her delicate heart.
Soon The black-robed men surrounded them in a circle.
Cang Xue's heart shook in fear as she looked terrified but the man who was carrying her had a glint of determination in his eyes. Yue Hao was not going to give up without a fight.
"Why are you going against the Royal family?" Cang Xue asked with a frightened voice.
"Haha...little princess... it's Empress who gave us the order to execute you. She wants to see you dead."
One of the black-robed men said with a chuckle as he seemed to be the leader, the other black-robed men, and his subordinates also started laughing.
