"When are you planning on waking up?"
The voice was faint at first but then it became clearer and clearer until he finally opened his eyes to see Mateo standing over him with a coffee mug in his hand.
"You're finally awake." The winger said with a relieved voice.
"What do you mean I'm finally awake, isn't this when I'm supposed to wake up?" The goalkeeper asked with a faint voice.
"Seriously? Why don't you take a look at the clock?"
Dave did as he was told and slowly sat up on his bed before turning to the wall clock to see that the time was 9:30 AM.
"Oh, boy." He muttered before he began to scratch the back of his mind.
'I must have lost track of time in there. Why didn't you tell me that my time was due.'
<You told me to leave you alone>
'I didn't mean it like that, oh, what does it matter anyway? It's not like I'm late for anything.'
"I didn't know you were more exhausted than I was despite coming in at halftime and staying in between the sticks most of the time," Mate said before dropping the mug on top of the small table there.
'That doesn't sound believable in any way.' He said subconsciously.
<I couldn't agree more>
"Did you go out partying last night, you were still talking before I dozed off I can recall." The winger said.
"Do I look like I went out partying last night and since when do I like partying?"
"Well you certainly don't look or smell it so, I'll assume you went to do something else, do you mind telling me what it was?"
"I didn't go to do anything Mateo, I dozed off just a few minutes after you left me hanging on our conversation, people oversleep sometimes, there's no need to make a big deal out of it." He said before he got up from his bed and made his way straight to the bathroom and once he was in there, he slammed the door shut.
"What's up with him?" Mateo said with his gaze on the door. "I wasn't even being serious."
_______ ________
The day was a pretty fun one for the duo as Mateo managed to convince Dave to take things easy and skip anything concerning training so that they could go have some fun together.
"We are on a pre-season tour after all so it's only fair to go around the city, tour around for a bit, our purpose for being here is defeated if we don't do that," Mateo said as the two stood outside the hotel.
"Yeah, you're right."
The two went around the area, they made sure to get to all the places they could on foot and they even met up with a few of their teammates who were also having a look around.
Someone like Ferran didn't need the tour as he was a Spanish-born player and had visited Barcelona a couple of times, he would have been the perfect tour guide for them but he was nowhere to be found at the moment.
The two had their lunch in one of the restaurants in the area and after that, they continued their touring, this time, they were going from one shop to another looking for cool things to buy, it was until the sun began to set that they decided to start heading back with all the useful and useless things they bought and the experience too.
'I know we were bought here for two weeks but I'm sure she'll love it if I bring back a couple of souvenirs for her and Clark too.' He said subconsciously before turning his gaze to the bag he was holding.
<Do you guys think it was a good idea to exhaust yourselves like that when you have a match to play tomorrow?>
'I'm not exhausted, are you even looking at my energy bar?'
[ 82/127 Energy ]
<Okay, what about him?>
'I bet he isn't exhausted too.'
"Hey, Mateo." He called.
"Huh?" Mateo replied before turning his gaze to him.
"You're not exhausted after all that right?" He asked.
"Um....not exactly, I feel a bit tired but it's nothing a good night's rest can't fix."
'You see, he's okay.'
After getting back to the hotel, the two had their lunch and went straight to bed.
Dave went to bed early as he needed to finish what he was doing yesterday and Mateo because he was tired and didn't want to tire himself out more staying awake as he knew that would affect his form for tomorrow's match.
It took Dave quite a while to fall asleep, he had to stare at the ceiling for about fifteen minutes before he could fall asleep and five minutes after that, he found himself in the endless white space with Catherine standing right in front of him this time.
"I know I said it was going to be just that yesterday but I want to do it one more time and see if I can get it." The goalkeeper said, skipping the small talk this time.
"Just get on with it, you have today and tomorrow to get it over with, after that we'll be switching back to what's more important," Catherine said.
"Oh, you're giving me one more day, you think I can't get it done right now."
"Do you want me to remove the extra day?"
"No, I didn't say that." The goalkeeper said before the goalpost appeared behind him along with the rest of the pitch. "I don't know if I can get it done now so the extra day was very thoughtful of you, Cat."
After saying that, he pushed the goalpost on the other side as far as he wanted it to go before he made a couple of balls appear behind him.
"Hitting a target from this far is really tricky and was quite frustrating last night but I'm starting to get it now." The goalkeeper said as he rolled the ball to the edge of the box.
After that, he took two four steps backward before he quickly raced toward the ball and sent it flying toward the goalpost with a powerful shot because without applying that much power, the ball won't be able to get to the post.
The ball flew toward the goalpost with a curved motion and banged on the left angle of the crossbar before falling over.
"Hmph, you hit the crossbar," Catherine said before crossing her arms.
"Didn't you hear me when I said I was starting to get it now?" He said before rolling another ball to the spot.
"I heard you."
The goalkeeper took four steps backward before he turned his gaze to her.
"Catherine." He called.
"Yeah."
"Please just take me back once my time is due."
"No problem."
The goalkeeper turned his gaze back to the ball and raced toward it and after getting to it, he pulled his leg back and sent it flying toward the goalpost with a powerful shot.
The shot followed the same pattern but this time it ended up hitting the net from the top left side of the goalpost.
