pAn,Da n<0,>v,e1 The goalkeeper got up as early as 5:00 PM so that he would be able to get through his daily routine without any interruptions and get back on time to help his wife with things around the house.
Getting up by 5:00 PM worked pretty well for him as he was able to complete seven kilometers, do some stretches, and spend some time in his gym before going back inside to help Emma who wasn't feeling so good that morning.
After helping her with getting breakfast ready and every other thing, he tried to stop her from going to work and just relax at home but she insisted, and there was nothing he could do about it.
She got ready for work and left looking healthier than he met her earlier in the morning so that was a bit of a relief.
"Now, I just have to get ready and leave for the stadium before 11:00 AM." He said before he made his way to the couch and crashed down on it.
There was only a day left before their clash against Dynamo FC at home, so they had to have a training session today and tomorrow before the match on Friday.
<I'm just wondering what will disrupt your mood today>
'I don't know but I don't want it to be bad, yesterday's was one of the worst.'
<Yeah, but you were the one that brought that upon yourself, most of your so-called disruptions are self-inflicted>
'I know, but I'm not the only person things like that happens to you know.'
<Yeah, I guess you're right>
After slacking off a bit on the couch, the goalkeeper got up and went upstairs to get ready to start heading to the stadium.
He was done by 10:30 AM and without wasting any time, he made his way outside, hopped into the car, and zoomed off toward the Wondanimo Stadium.
He got to the stadium by 10:38 AM to discover that a few of his teammates were already there, and the rest were yet to arrive.
He made his way into the building and straight to the pitch to find out that out of the six players that had arrived there before him, only three were there on the pitch.
The players on the pitch were Ferran, Carlos, and Minino who he wasn't expecting to see at the stadium this early after what happened to him in their match against Black Roz FC.
Ferran was honing his dribbling and ball control with cones he set up while Carlos and Minino were still running laps on the pitch.
"Hey, guys!" Dave yelled as he made his way onto the pitch.
He called their attention and exchanged greetings with them before he joined the two who were still running laps on the pitch.
"Are you sure you're completely healed, Minino?" The goalkeeper asked as he ran alongside the midfielder.
"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine now, it was just a little sprain," Minino replied.
"That's good news, it's always nice to have you in that midfield," Dave said.
"Yeah, but I doubt coach is going to start me in the upcoming match."
After running around the pitch, Dave did a bit of training with his teammates before Norman, the coaching team and the rest of their teammates got there.
With Norman there along with the rest of his teammates, the training session kicked off officially.
As always it started with running laps which Dave had to repeat along with the rest of his teammates.
"So, where were you yesterday? Emma called me about seven times to ask me the same question when she knew she was going to get the same answer." Mateo said as he ran alongside Dave. "And after a few minutes, she called me to ask me to ask my teammates and she kept calling me back to know what their response was, yesterday was the busiest my phone has been in terms of phone calls."
"I haven't heard this part of the story," Dave said.
"Well, you're hearing it from me now, I called you but it said that your phone was switched off which was quite odd because Emma said that you just weren't picking up."
"Oh, that must have been when I entered that room." The goalkeeper said.
"What room?"
"I was at Frono yesterday, at Footy Wears to be precise."
"Oh, that was it, but you should have at least told your wife before leaving or picked up her calls at least, she was so worried about you." The winger said.
"I know, I've already apologized to her."
"Okay, so nothing bad happened between you two, I expected her to jump on you and give you a scar on the face maybe but peaceful reconciliation works too." The winger said.
"Emma's not like that," Dave said before shaking his head.
"I see you still haven't seen that side of her, just try what you did yesterday again and maybe you'll see it," Mateo said before running ahead and leaving him in confusion.
<I think it's best if you try not to bring out that side>
'Absolutely.'
After completing their laps, they dived right into stretches, and after that, they began practicing with the ball.
They did a whole lot of things and the fun ones especially, tic tac toe, getting the ball into the bin with one touch, and a lot of different other things.
After that, they did some shooting practice. A target was put at the right angle of the goalpost and the players had to hit the target from twenty-five yards out.
This practice was meant for on-field players, especially the strikers but Dave wanted to take part and no one was going to stop him.
After almost all the players had taken their turns, it was Jonas' turn.
The left-back was standing a little distance away from the ball and once he was given the go signal by his teammates, he quickly rushed to the ball and sent it flying toward the target fixated there, but the ball ended up hitting the post.
"That was really close," Dave said before stepping up to take his shot. "It's my turn now."
Jonas stared at him for a while before he gritted his teeth and shifted out of the way.
The goalkeeper took two steps backward, and as soon as he was given the signal, he quickly raced to the ball and sent it flying toward the target, lobbing the ball a little bit.
The ball flew straight to the target and hit it right in the middle as Dave raised his hands.
"Nicely done, Dave," Roland said before making his way to the goalkeeper.
"As a goalkeeper, his shooting is quite stunning compared to Jonas'." Minino was standing right behind the left back as he said that and he got the reaction he wanted as Jonas slowly turned his gaze to him, he didn't have a nice look on his face.
After the shooting practice, the players decided to do some rondo and this time Dave decided to join them unlike before.
He was part of the five-man team that was going to be keeping the ball away while Jonas, Roland, and Pirlo were trying to recover the ball.
The ball was sent to Mateo from Merino and the winger quickly got past Roland with a roulette spin before sending the ball to Dave.
The ball was still heading toward the goalkeeper when Jonas slid toward it, and instead of going just for the ball, he went for the goalkeeper's legs as well.
He made quick and strong contact with his legs and that was all that was needed to bring him down.
As soon as he crashed to the floor, he felt a stinging pain on his right ankle and quickly clutched onto it as he scrunched up his face and gritted his teeth in pain.
