As Lu Lixing was present, she didn’t dare say or do anything. The character she acted in the drama was originally only an eighteenth-line minor supporting role. Her parts weren’t many. In the next two days, her shooting would wrap up and she would leave the filming crew. But after Lu Lixing sent out his instructions in response to that incident with Ji Qingqing, she had to return all her subsequent resources to Ji Qingqing. Having no resources was a nightmare for any actor and Meng Xun was equally troubled by the current situation.
Her company could not be relied on and she had to rely on herself.
“Director Zhou.” Shen Weiwei smiled and walked towards him. “In two days time I will finish shooting, I really appreciate your guidance during this period.”
“You deserve it. You are very talented, continue working hard and you’ll become famous one day.”
Much of Shen Weiwei’s smile faded. “Thank you. I know I am still a newbie, although I don’t have the chance to do so now, in the future, I will work really hard and strive to prove myself to more directors, so that I can attain more opportunities.”
When it came to Shen Weiwei’s acting, Director Zhou truly acknowledged her skills. At the very least, it was way better than a number of popular actors in the industry. If given the opportunity, after some time, she would definitely rise to fame.
“Alright, if there’s a chance, let’s work together again next time.”
Director Zhou’s words could be counted as a guarantee.
Shen Weiwei immediately thanked him, “Thank you so much Director Zhou!”
Meanwhile, Qi Jingyun was about to leave when she spotted them. She raised her eyebrows and did not speak.
Her manager who was beside her, looked over and whispered, “What’s wrong?”
Qi Jingyun scoffed quietly, “Presumptuous.”
In order to catch Director’s Zhou’s attention, she humiliated her in public. Qing Jingyun would never forget that for the rest of her life.
She whispered something into her manager’s ear. After hearing, the manager glanced at Shen Weiwei and nodded.
On the way back to the hotel, Ji Qingqing kept her head down and ‘played dead’. She did not utter a single word or make eye contact with Lu Lixing. Even when they entered the hotel’s lift, she just stood alone in one corner with her head bowed.
The atmosphere was very awkward.
Since it’s awkward, then just let it be, how could it compare to the awkwardness at set?
Ji Qingqing resigned herself to her fate.
When they returned to the room, the assistants that accompanied them had all left, leaving just the two of them.
Lu Lixing’s clothes still had quite a fair amount of mud on them. He took off his jacket, intending to wash it in the washroom. All of a sudden, Ji Qingqing grabbed hold of him, and prevented him from leaving with an expression as if she had given up all hope. “Wait, listen to my explanation.”
Lu Lixing interrupted her. “Go take a bathe first and, in the meantime, you can think about how you intend to explain it to me.”
While Lu Lixing entered the study in a delightful mood, Ji Qingqing stood there, bewildered.
Did it even require any thinking? Wasn’t it just a slip of the tongue? What kind of explanation did Lu Lixing even want from her?
Ji Qingqing soaked herself in the warm bathtub. Her whole body relaxed, she felt so comfortable that she almost fell asleep. Her fatigue was also alleviated too. She waited till the water turned cold before getting up from the bathtub.
Her head felt slightly heavy.
Ji Qingqing touched her forehead. The temperature didn’t feel normal. Today, she was drenched under the rain for a long time, hence it was possible that she had caught a cold and fever. She entered the room and looked for a first-aid kit. Then she took her temperature, 39℃.
No doubt, it was a fever.
She then poured a cup of warm water and swallowed down two pills. Despite that, Ji Qingqing’s cold did not get better. On the contrary, when she measured her temperature again, it increased.
Till she recovered from her cold, she shouldn’t be sleeping together with Lu Lixing. What if she spread it to him?
Ji Qingqing gave a call to Wen Rou and asked her to make a reservation for another room. Then she made her way to the study, intending to notify Lu Lixing of her decision. When she opened the door, she spotted him beside the window and in the midst of a call. Lu Lixing spotted Ji Qingqing, and signaled for her to leave first.
Ji Qingqing yawned.
So tired.
Nevermind, I’ll just send him a text, Ji Qingqing thought sleepily. Besides, she was too embarrassed to face him today anyways.
Lu Lixing even wanted her to properly think about how she intended to explain…
But was this her fault?
If Lu Lixing hadn’t forced her to change Lu Xichen’s name to his yesterday, she wouldn’t have gotten carried away while acting.
And now, she ended up embarrassing herself at the set!
I’m not explaining, I’m not explaining. She was too humiliated to explain.
Taking out her phone, she sent a Wechat message to Lu Lixing, before leaving room 2507.
