Shen Weiwei tugged at his sleeve anxiously, “Shaoyu, I told you to let me handle it. Qingqing, I want to apologize. It was my fault for misunderstanding you that day. I really thought you were the one who pushed me. Fortunately, there was a video recording of the incident that proved your innocence. Otherwise…”
“Weiwei!” Gu Shaoyu interrupted her, “What are you apologizing for? Even if she wasn’t the one who pushed you, she is still at fault! You had done nothing wrong. You’re a victim. Why should a victim apologize for being bullied?”
“But Qingqing was scolded and slandered by people because of me…”
“So, what if she had been scolded and slandered by other people? It cannot compare to what you had suffered. You had to lie in bed for so long because of your injury! Stop blaming yourself, okay?”
The corner of Ji Qingqing’s mouth twitched.
Ji Qingqing admitted that the original owner of this body was an arrogant woman who had committed many horrible deeds. It was also normal for Gu Shaoyu to despise her. Since she had taken the original owner’s body, she should take responsibility and clean up the mess that the original owner of the body had done. She was willing to do that; however, she will not admit or apologize for the bad deeds that other people did.
Ji Qingqing tapped the table gently, which caused their attention to fall on her once again.
“Mr. Gu, are you accusing me of causing trouble for Shen Weiwei which somehow caused her to fall down the hill? If you are, then please explain to me how I caused trouble for her.”
“You were the one who had intentionally caused her trouble, so you should be clear how you had caused trouble for her.”
“But I don’t know how I caused trouble for her!” Ji Qingqing smiled. Ji Qingqing’s dazzling eyes were as sharp as a knife as she stared at him, “Since you are so confident that I had intentionally caused trouble for her, then I presume you must have evidence or a witness? Please tell me, I really want to hear about what I did.”
Gu Shaoyu frowned. He suddenly lost his confidence after seeing how confident Ji Qingqing was.
“No one was there at that time, so how could I…”
“That means that you don’t know anything and that you were just guessing.” She turned to Shen Weiwei and asked, “Ms. Shen, can you please tell me what we were talking about at that time?”
There was a hint of panic in the depths of Shen Weiwei’s eyes, but she instantly calmed down. She was able to conceal the rising hatred and panic in her eyes. Shen Weiwei lowered her head and said in a trembling voice, “I don’t remember.”
Ji Qingqing chuckled softly, “Well, it seems like the person involved doesn’t even remember. Mr. Gu, I presumed I’ve proved my point?”
Deputy Director Li looked at how Shen Weiwei’s head was lowered as if she was forcing herself to suffer being wronged by other people. He felt a pang of pity as he looked at her. He turned to Ji Qingqing and said in an impatient tone, “Ji Qingqing, we came here to discuss what we should do to resolve this. We didn’t come here to quarrel.”
“Deputy Director Li, do you think I want to quarrel with them? But I have to since they’re accusing and slandering me of something I didn’t even do. How can I just sit back and let them slander me? Don’t worry, we will talk about the current matter after I clear this up.” She turned to look at Gu Shaoyu, “Mr. Gu, you may think that I’m jealous of her because you abandoned me, but the truth is that I’m not jealous of her at all. You may be a treasure in other people’s eyes, but you’re just dog poop in my eyes. I’m unwilling to even step on you for luck!”
T/N: Chinese people have a superstition regarding dog poop. They believe that you’ll be very lucky after stepping on dog poop. Ji Qingqing is unwilling to step on Gu Shaoyu even if he’ll bring her luck. xD
“Ji Qingqing, how dare you!”
“You also said earlier that I was being kept by you,” Ji Qingqing smiled, “I apologize, but I didn’t date you for your money. Except for the money we spent on dating, I didn’t even receive a single gift from you. But…” Ji Qingqing pointed at the belt that was buckled around Gu Shaoyu’s waist, “That is the belt that I had given you. That belt is worth five digits. According to you, the person who has spent the least amount of money is the one being kept. Since I spent more money than you, then shouldn’t you be the one being kept by me?”
