Prodigy With Alternate Multiverse Chat Group System
Chapter 272 Living Anomalies Who Defy Universal RulesAllen: Do you want to live?
When Distere heard of the man's question, he was interested in it but that interest later died down after he remembered that he didn't have anything to offer to that man in return.
Distere already lost his status as the heir of the Faith Family so, in his eyes, he already lost his value. And even if he lived, he could never stay in the Gaia Kingdom since he would be labeled as a criminal.
Allen: You don't want to live? How can you spread the belief in Lord Zenchi's omnipotence and omniscience?
When that man mentioned Lord Zenchi, Distere's interest was maxed out as he only had one thought in his mind.
'A fellow Zenchian!'
After Distere found out that man who contacted him via telepathy was also a follower of Lord Zenchi, his trust towards that man became higher than before. So with that trust in mind, he might as well hear out the offer that the man was going to give him.
Distere knew that there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world. So if that man offered to save him, even if that man was a follower of Lord Zenchi, that man would still ask him to pay the favor for saving him.
'Now that I think about it, I have nothing to lose even if that man has an absurd offer to make in exchange for my safety. After all, if that man won't help me escape from my execution, I would still be dead anyway.'
Distere didn't want to die. He was still young and he had a lot of things that he wanted to accomplish in this second life of his.
He had thought that with his golden finger, he could easily live the life he wanted in his second life so that he could live a life with no regrets but the cruel reality had proved him wrong.
It was just his wishful thinking that he could live an easy life as long as he had a golden finger. He wasn't a protagonist like those novels he had read so even if he had a system as a golden finger, he didn't have any plot armor.
The only reason why those novel protagonists lived to tell the tale after they offended a big shot was because of their plot armor which Distere thought that he didn't have. Of course, Distere was mistaken since he indeed has plot armor. His plot armor wasn't just working due to the presence of multiple protagonists in this world.
But it was a good thing that Distere came to a realization since if he didn't and his mentality was similar to that of a frog in a well, he would one day meet an existence that could kill him despite his plot armor.
Living anomalies such as those who didn't come from this universe don't have to follow the rules of that universe. Axel and his chat group members were such living anomalies.
That existence defied the rules that were set in the universe, including the plot armor that existed inside a protagonist. So the bane of a protagonist's existence were those living anomalies who decided to travel into their universe.
It was a good thing that Allen and his chat group members didn't plan on taking Distere's life, or else he would have already died without him knowing about the cause of his death.
Fate and destiny were the only aspects that were set upon a universe to restrict the lives of the inhabitants in that universe. And those who were chosen by fate, fate which were those protagonists such as Distere, were protected by fate to a certain extent.
But the machinations of fate were only restricted to the lifeforms in the universe that were set upon it, so it couldn't interfere with the lifeforms from another universe. Even if it could, Allen and his chat group members were protected by the AMCG System so the plot armor of the protagonists was rendered useless in front of them.
If Allen wanted to, he could easily brainwash or mind control Distere into becoming a slave of his. And when Distere became his slave, he could order him to accept the invitation of the chat group.
But Allen didn't do that for a few reasons. Not only was it unethical to do so, but Allen also couldn't guarantee whether the AMCG System would accept a mind-controlled protagonist into the chat group.
It was too risky for Allen to do that, so he didn't mind controlling Distere into accepting the invitation to the chat group. Who knows what would happen if he did that?
The chat group might even deem it a failure as soon as Allen attempted to brainwash the protagonist that they were going to invite into the chat group. Not to mention, Allen was still someone who had a conscience and he wasn't a monster who lost a shred of his humanity.
Of course, Allen wasn't a kind person, but he also wasn't an evil one. He was more in the gray area, and he preferred it that way. After all, nothing mattered except for his lover, Iris Aria, and his siblings, Asther and Alisceon. Allen also didn't forget about his sworn brother, Seref Zenchi.
As for his chat group members, he thought of them as his comrades. But he wouldn't risk his life just to save them if they were ever in trouble in comparison to his loved ones being in danger.
With that thought in his mind, Allen waited for Distere to respond to his question. He had already given Distere a clue that he was on his side due to being a follower of Lord Zenchi, which, technically, wasn't a lie.
After all, there was also Zenchianism in Allen's world, and he had long discarded his identity as an atheist and became a believer in Zenchianism after he found out that the chat group that granted him his supreme talent was created by Lord Zenchi.
Of course, Distere wasn't stupid enough to not notice the clue that Allen had given him, so it didn't take long for him to reply to Allen's question.
Distere: If you save my life, what will I pay in return?
