Chapter 2240 Questions

*BAM*

"What the fuck are you looking at, you bastards.

I can't tell you that. If you want to know, go and ask Dean Heron, yourself. He knows what's going on. But that reason has nothing to do with the Hub or the killings.

I can vouch for that."

Dean Wharton slammed the table and lost his cool.

Bloody Chariot frowned and asked.

"Why can't you tell me?"

"Only the Deans can know of it."

*SNAP*

Bloody Chariot snapped the armrest off the chair with a single twist. That is one sentence, he got sick of hearing.

That almost gave him a short fuse. If he hears that shit enough times, he is sure that he will lose it one of these days."

The other Deans wanted to press on further, but Bloody Chariot knew it will be futile. So, he just turned to Sam and continued the questioning.

"Do you have a grudge against the Olympians and Olympian Academies?"

"Yes, I do."

"Is that grudge the reason for you attacking the admission tests of all the Olympian academies?"

"Yes, it is."

"What were you expecting from it?"

"Nothing much. Just to send a message to the academies that I am hostile to them. I just wanted to piss them off at that time."

"What did you gain from it?"

"Material gain? Not from that specific incident, but it would be fair to say that it laid a large enough foundation for me to make some really good money from that."

The formation is not reacting. Sam is still sitting there unfazed.

The basic questions continued for a few minutes. The Deans are not really asking any complicated questions. Sam guessed they are trying to understand his way of answering questions.

The questions are very broad

"What elements do you use?"

"Why are you so good with combat?"

"What is your most powerful skill?"

Sam answered most of them and the ones he rejected, he didn't feel guilty one bit.

He is clean and didn't face any hits from the formation. However, Sam felt that these questions are a bit odd.

Maybe they are looking for logical habits in his word formation or something like that. "All right, how are you related to the Hub?"

Bloody Chariot dropped the question once again. Sam smiled at this. The question is very broad and vague.

"Depends on what you define the relation as? What are you expecting from this?"

Sam asked in return and all of a sudden, he felt a bit of jolt in his soul. It is like a very light electric shock. The formation also gave off a different kind of flash. The Deans' eyes almost sparkled with enthusiasm.

They couldn't even hide it properly.

Sam understood immediately. Whatever the question is, the only thing he could speak out are the answers. And his return question is a bit dodgy, which came from the guilt in his heart. After all, he did wanted to be a bit more careful as to not reveal too much about hub.

Those thoughts were indeed sensed by the spirits of the formation.

"You can just answer based on your interpretation. What we think of is not that relevant."

Sam sighed and said.

"I am related to the hub as a student of the Olympian realm who participated in the training exercises, simulations, etc and utilsed other features of the hub."

"Have you benefited from the hub in anyway?"

"Yes."

"Can you please elaborate on it?"

"I have gained a lot of benefits from Hub. I have done a lot of experiments. Learned a lot of new things through the hub's simulations and data base. Created a lot of new technology, developed a lot of my ideas to execute a lot of my plans that would benefit my future."

"Did you have any direct connection with the managers of the Hub?"

"I do, I am friends with Ivar and through him I talked to the other managers once in a while. I had a few business relationships with them."

The whole court went silent once again.

They noticed the formation, there is no jolt like before and there is no reaction from Sam as well.

He just answered directly.

"What kind of business relationship do you have with them?"

"A decently fair exchange. I give them some technology that they need to achieve their goals and they do me some favors in exchange."

*BAM*

"What the fuck did you just say?"

One of the spectators, an elder slammed the table in front of him and pointed at Sam while yelling.

Sam looked at him with raised eyebrow and turned to Bloody Chariot.

"Is this also part of the interrogation?"

Bloody Chariot gave a side-eyed glance and the elder fell back into his seat while sweating like a pig.

"Sam, you do understand the implications of what you said right?"

"I do understand that there would be a lot of implications and conclusions you could jump from what I just said. So, please ask me more questions if you want a much more clear answer."

"Alright, you asked for it. Do you know that the goal of the managers is to collude with Hub and destroy the lives of the students in the Olympian academies?"

There is an eerie silence in the room. It seems like with a few more questions, that silence could become a permanent state in this interrogation session.

"I do."

Sam answered directly.

Ling Tian widened his eyes in disbelief. He gulped down hard and looked around. Many people's gazes and their killing intent has been locked on to Sam.

Even the Deans conducting the interrogation are looking at him like they want to eat him alive.

He became vigilant.

But Sam didn't care. At least that is what he looked like. He just leisurely sat in his own chair and looked at them, waiting for his next question.

"How privy are you to the information regarding this massive plan executed by the managers?"

"Well, I kind of now who are about to die in their hands."

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

Many more people rose from thieir seats.

"Poor craftsmen. Whoever made those tables will feel said. Show some respect to the artisans."

Sam muttered under his breath. This careless nature only triggered more anger from them.

"If you have prior knowledge of these incidents why did you not inform us?"

"Because I am not obligated to. By what law and the rule of the academy realm, do I need to inform you when I got wind of the news of people dying? Don't you think you are being unreasonable?"

One of the Deans at the main seats stood up and yelled.

"UNREASONABLE? YOU BASTARD. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE DIED? YOU COULD HAVE SAVED ALL THOSE PEOPLE. YOU COULD HAVE HELPED US AVERT THIS DISASTER. AND YOU ARE SAYING THIS IS UNREASONABLE?"

Sam locked his eyes on the Dean who screamed. That is the dean of the Ares academy.

His gaze narrowed for a moment and said.

"Yes, I am indeed saying this is unreasonable. It is not my job to deal with the problems of yours.

My affiliation is with just the gambler academy, not the whole of the academy realm and particularly not with the Olympian academies.

Anyway, if it makes you feel any better, I don't know the exact time of the execution of the plan. I only knew it will happen, I have no idea of the exact time. Also, I didn't get the information on who will die from the managers. I kind of deduced it by myself.

And I couldn't be bothered to think much about it because, I had to fucking do the unreasonable 12 labors.

Which by the way, is being taken too lightly by all the members of your academies who are also subjected to the same punishment."

"This is a trial about you and you alone. Nothing else matters."

"So, this is a trial now?" Sam replied with a smile.

"Sam, Do you know where the managers are right now? Do you know their escape plan?"

Bloody Chariot directly interrupted the argument and asked in the same calm tone.

"I do know a bit about escape plan. They decided to disguise themselves and leave the city. I don't know where they went to though."

No jolt. Not reaction.

Sam just looked at the calmly.

"Do you know Joker?"

"Yes, I do. Like everyone else."

"Do you have a personal relationship with him?"

Sam paused for a moment and said.

"In my opinion. I believe Joker doesn't exist." His words stumped everyone. They observed the formation and they noticed there is no reaction.

"What do you mean?"

"I meant what I said. Joker doesn't really exist. I wholeheartedly believe it."

No reaction from the formation again.

"Only one more question."

Ling Tian said from the side. By now he is sweating and he didn't really want to stay here any longer.

He also commended the stupidity of Bloody Chariot and Dean for not asking the questions that truly mattered.

In his opinions, the questions about the hub and managers are much less important than the questions about Sam's past and the game.

Luckily, they didn't think to ask that and now with one question this will be over.
