Chapter 2296 Infuriating Personality
The Ancestors looked on with a serious expression. It had been a long time since the Time and Space Immortal God had made a move.
"Master!" The First White Mother called out in horror.
How could she not know the kind of state that her master was in? It seemed simple to push himself back to his prime state like this, but there was most definitely a price to pay. Which of them wasn't aware of the fact that Abraxus was reaching the end of his lifespan?
However, despite knowing this, they didn't dare to move rashly.
Abraxus took another step, his aura growing to another level. He was a man of normal height, yet in this moment, he felt like a towering mountain to them, a man with status so impossibly high that they could only look up toward him.
By his third step, his wrinkles had completely faded.
The Abraxus in the prime of his youth was a man whose looks didn't lose out to Dyon or the angel Godefray.
His skin was a deep shade of night, radiating a dark glow. Despite him regaining his youthful looks, his hair was still white, standing on his head in a perfectly groomed afro that swayed ever so slightly in the wind. His white shirt and pants looked more like the pajamas of a mortal rather than the fighting attire of a Peak Immortal God, yet it seemed to fit him so perfectly.
Still, what was the most striking about him was his demeanor and temperament. He wore a light smile on his face despite the fact his last words had been a blatant threat. His hands were clasped behind his back as he continued to stroll forward.
It was an effortless oppression. He didn't seem to be trying to suppress them, yet it was happening anyway.
The First White Mother's eyes widened. Was this the true strength of her master?
In the end, she was too young. She had never gotten to see Abraxus in action before, this was her very first time. It left her feeling as though the old man she had once known had vanished and that a monster had awakened.
"Well? You came here but now you're hesitating? Let's begin." Abraxus said lightly, his loose white clothing fluttering in the air as though made of silk.
The moment these words fell, Abraxus disappeared and appeared before Atkin, a smile still plastered on his face. The way his clothing swayed and his bare feet hung in the air made it seem as though he was an amiable grandfather greeting his grandson after rising from a nap.
Yet, the Dragon Ancestor didn't see it this way at all. In fact, he felt a frigid cold weave its way through his spine, casting his body into an icy hell.
The reason was simple. It didn't feel to him like Abraxus had disappeared and reappeared. It rather felt like he had been standing here the whole time and Atkin only just now noticed his presence.
This was it. The most fearsome ability of the Time and Space Immortal God. Time control.
In the blink of an eye, Abraxus rewound time, leisurely walked forward and appeared before this Dragon Ancestor. Yet, what was the most chilling was the fact the miniature split timeline he created was something only he could experience. So, to others, in defiance of all logic, it seemed as though he had been here from the very beginning.
"You're a little too young to be here, don't you think, junior?"
Atkin's eyes widened. 'When did his palm appear on my chest?!'
It was just a light pat, almost like a greeting. But…
BANG!
The Dragon Ancestor was sent flying, his body turning into a flaming meteor as he tore streaks of space apart in his descent.
BANG!
"RROOOOOAAAARRRR!!"
The rage of a dragon filled the skies. The mountain Atkin had crashed into, burst into a rain of dust and pebbles as a mighty golden western dragon appeared. His four limbs crashed into the earth, his golden reptilian eyes reddening with fury.
From his snout to the tip of his tail, he was tens of kilometers long, dwarfing the five Ancestors and Abraxus. His roar alone caused violent earthquakes and torrential storms to ravage the bubble world. It seemed like it might collapse at any moment beneath his fury.
"Can't you all see that your junior is being bullied?" Abraxus looked toward the other four Ancestors with a light smile on his face. "It can't be that you're all still not going to action, right? Forget it, forget it. Since you're still having some reservations, I'll just have to act personally, then."
The First White Mother was speechless. Where was her old, amiable master? When had his tongue become so sharp? Is this where her Senior Brother got his infuriating personality from?
[Author's Note: Reminder that I'm calling Ancestor Haven 'they' as their gender is ambiguous. It can get a bit confusing since it sounds like a plural, but they're just one person]
Abraxus flashed and disappeared once more, this time, his target was Ancestor Haven.
The Sprite Hegemon had always been a neutral party. Not only were they usually neutral, but they were powerful beyond normal means of understanding. It was said that Pill Sword Mountain was one of the, if not the, most ancient hegemon that still existed to this day. But, the truth was that there was no Hegemon more ancient than the Sprites.
They were born along with the Heavens and they would continue to exist until the Heavens gave way…
Sprites were special in that their battle prowess wasn't tied down to their cultivation, but rather the quality of the resources around them. Theoretically, there was no definitive cap to their power… Due to this, Sprites with just one affinity were already monstrous. Those with two were rare treasures the likes of which rarely appeared. However…
Ancestor Haven was birthed not of just one element, but five.
Abraxus' palm mysteriously appeared once more, as though it had always been there. But, Ancestor Haven hardly moved. On the surface, it seemed as though they were caught just as off guard as Atkin had been. But, the calm glint in their eyes painted a completely different picture.
Ancestor Haven took a step toward Abraxus' palm and suddenly vanished. Sharp winds surrounded their figure when they appeared again, seeming to slice even reality apart.
"I hope you didn't believe that you were invincible simply because you have an understanding of time and space. Even the simplest of paths when taken to the extreme can bend reality. In my opinion, you've only wasted your time learning something so complex. Wind, fire, water, earth and the sword in my hand are all that I need to defeat you."
Ancestor Haven's voice carried a magnetic wave as their palm flipped upward revealing a sword with no guard and no hilt. It seemed that they grabbed onto the end of the blade directly, but it didn't seem to harm them a single bit.
At that moment, the Dragon Ancestor appeared above them in the air, casting a massive shadow. But, it wasn't just him who was ready for battle. Ysabell's gaze turned a frightening shade of red, flooding the battlefield with her soul qi. Empress Elsie's fiery violet hair stood taller, rising into the skies like a curtain of fire as a delicate fan appeared in her hand. Godefray's wings appeared and unfolded, forming 12 beautiful white wings with tips of deep black.
The group no longer held back, attacking simultaneously. It became clear that they wanted to ride the momentum Ancestor Haven had given them. This man might be powerful, but he wasn't invincible. And, even amongst their group, there were those who could match him on their own. Abraxus' fate was sealed. He would die here today.
"Ah, I've never heard you speak so many words at once, Haven. Even back when we were just little pups exploring the Chaos Ruins together you didn't say so much."
Abraxus floated between their attacks like a leaf in the wind. There was even a point where he appeared on the Dragon Ancestor's back, sliding his bare feet across his shimmering, golden scales.
"You dare to speak of this?!"
Let alone the First White Mother who had been completely ignored, the other Ancestors, with the exception of Elsie, were completely stunned by this outburst.
Though it didn't seem like this since they had already said so much since the battle began, it could be said that Abraxus was the only one who could make Haven speak so much. Even if Dyon himself was here, he wouldn't be able to get the latter to speak so much.
Yet, this same quiet sprite not only had already had a monologue, but also shouted in agitation…?
Four colors of wild qi floated like hurricanes around the Sprite Ancestor as they brandished their sword.
"Oh boy…" Abraxus muttered. "… Little Deer, leave this bubble world with everyone you can. It probably won't exist anymore in a little while…"
If the ignorant heard Abraxus' words, they'd be shocked. It was one thing to destroy a weak bubble world like the one the Well Clans called home. However… To destroy one the Time and Space Immortal God called home… It would have been easier to destroy the Mortal Plane in its prime with nothing but a spoon.
The First White Mother didn't dare be neglectful after hearing her master's words. Though, that didn't stop her from wondering just what it is her master mentioned that was so bad for the dignified Sprite Ancestor to react in this way…
