Chapter 2331 End (2)
"Ultimately, the reason Abraxus wanted my soul quintessence 'technique' to begin with was so that he could truly break away from the Heavens. He failed to do what I did, so the path of Chaos was what he chose because he no longer had any other choice. It was either this path, or he would be forced to die just like everyone else…
"He had already used his Cycles of Reincarnation technique to revive once, it would simply be impossible for him to do it again considering how much of a price he paid the first time…"
"Then what about the war? Who had they been fighting?"
Now that Madeleine thought about it, there had indeed been a war raging on the Immortal Plane.
Before, they had thought it was Abraxus fighting off members of the chaos faction, but now…?
Dyon smiled. "It doesn't really change anything. He was still fighting the chaos faction.
"In my best estimates, he was putting on a show… That day when he killed three of my disciples, a lingering aura I left on Little Nazaire appeared, causing him to run away. Back then, I had still been in the process of casting the technique and finding the perfect landing spot for my 2nd life, so though I had already disappeared for a long time, I was still present on the Immortal Plane.
"Knowing that he had acted too rashly, he likely tried to conjure up the war to cover his tracks. It was only after he sensed my Titan Diamond Body awaken that he realized I had finally left and could end the war."
Clara frowned. "But if he knew the Titan Diamond Body was tied to you, how come he didn't see through your plan?"
"The important point is that he didn't know I had lived 108 more lifetimes. He thought that my 109th life was my first life. Or rather, my second life."
A sudden realization dawned on Dyon's wives.
"He was my master, just how many things do you think I consulted him on? It could be said that of the matters related to my plan, he helped me formulate 90% of it.
"The only thing I didn't tell him was the scope of my plans. He thought that I had done all of this to bring you all back to my side once more, but that was only part of what I wanted to do.
"We initially planned it so that all of you would appear together in my 109th life – a life he thought was my 2nd – but we couldn't pinpoint exactly where. So, since we deduced that the Ancient Battlefield would descend in this lifetime, we both decided that to maximize my chances of finding you all, I needed to be born with this constitution just in case one of you was a princess of a Fallen Clan…"
The shock and awe Dyon's wives and his daughter felt reached an inconceivable level.
Tricking someone in the dark was one thing… but tricking someone who knew almost every facet of your plan was a different thing entirely. On top of that, Dyon hadn't even been certain that Abraxus was a traitor to him back then… Or rather, maybe he just didn't want to believe it…
"How is it, your husband's pretty good, huh?"
Dyon grinned shamelessly, causing his wives and daughter to roll their eyes.
"Little Dyon, didn't I teach you humility? What happened to my innocent little boy?"
Dyon froze before coughing wildly as he looked toward the statue of his mother. There was only one person in this world who dared to call him Little Dyon.
Couldn't his mother see that he was still trying to act to cool? Was there a need to embarrass him in this way?
At that moment, two warm lights stepped out from the statues of Dyon's parents.
On the left, there was a tall stoic man with dark skin and chiseled features. He looked as though he hadn't smiled in a lifetime, yet the gentleness he looked forward with couldn't be hidden.
On the right, there was the only woman in the world Dyon believed could compete with his daughter in beauty. Of course, maybe this was him being a little biased, but he reserved such a right. Hadn't he just technically saved the world? He got hero credits, right?
Dyon remembered how many times he had dreamt of seeing that warm smile again in his 109th life. No, it wasn't just that lifetime… In every single life he had lived, she was a torch that had lit his way.
"Look at this, I finally get to meet all of my lovely daughter-in-laws? And who is this, my granddaughter? Come, come. Let me see you all."
Dyon's wives suddenly became bashful. This could be considered the first time they were seeing their mother-in-law… How long had she been observing them? Oh no, did she see them bullying Dyon? She wouldn't blame them for that, right?
Dyon smiled lightly as he watched his mother greet his wives one by one and smiled even more brightly when he saw how spoiled Little Alauna was acting around her grandmother.
He stood and walked to his father. For a moment, the two men didn't say much of anything. Even now, Dyon still felt the only man worthy to stand above him was his father. He was the Nameless Immortal God, a man who commanded waves and catastrophes with a flip of his palm. Yet, he still felt like a little boy in front of his dad.
Eventually, his old man sighed and looked past Dyon.
"I apologize on behalf of my son. If he doesn't treat you all well, I'll be sure to smack his bottom red."
If it was anyone else saying these words, a resounding laughter might have been heard. But, they could see that General Sacharro wasn't a man who liked to joke. It seemed he was quite serious about giving Dyon a spanking.
Toward this, Dyon could only bitterly smile. His dad had always been a traditional man. He wouldn't blame Dyon's wives for all choosing him, but he would most definitely blame the man himself. He clearly felt that Dyon was far too irresponsible owing such a debt to so many women.
In the end, without saying a word, Dyon enveloped his father into a massive bear hug, not letting the old general refuse.
General Sacharro stiffened slightly, but ultimately sighed.
"You're already a grown man, no need to act like such a child."
Dyon smiled, but didn't let go.
It was quite the textbook ending. Well, aside from the fact Dyon didn't bother to return to the battlefield. His enemies didn't even catch a glimpse of his face as they breathed their final breaths.
On a distant battlefield, Aritzia lay completely unmoving. Dyon hadn't even dealt a final killing blow to her. Even now, she still continued to breathe.
Many days later, she suddenly chuckled. "… It really wasn't worth it…"
A loud crack resounded through the void, causing numerous spatial tears to ravage the lands once more before falling silent.
This time, when one looked at Aritzia, there was no life to be found… Her Dao Heart had shattered and her lifeforce had dissipated…
The First White Mother looked up into the skies, numerous spears pierced into her chest. There was a clear hatred in her eyes as though she was cursing the Heavens for actually allowing her to lose in such a way.
...
Abraxus collapsed, growing old so quickly that his skin turned to ash before them all. His eyes seemed vacant in the end… Before his life gave way to his last breath… he sighed, but it was a sigh that surprisingly came with a slight curve of his lips... a smile.
It was a master's role to help his disciple rise to the top of the world. It was a stage he couldn't reach and there were certain things that he simply couldn't stop on his own.
When he took this path, he knew that it would only end one of two ways. Either he would reach a new pinnacle, or his disciple would. In the end, one of them would be the one to finally break this cycle.
Now that he knew it was his disciple, he didn't seem reluctant at all. In fact, he felt that he had done his job well.
He would leave it up to his proudest disciple, his greatest pride, the youth he saw no differently from his very own son, to see this through to the end. He had absolute trust in Dyon.
...
It seemed that even in the end, the First White Mother still hadn't come to understand what Dyon had done. Even her final thoughts were brimming with thoughts of revenge. She would reincarnate once more, and this time, she would make Dyon pay a hundred times over.
She thought that Dyon was a fool. So what if he had allowed the mortal plane to once again reach its peak state through the Ancient Battlefield. Everything was still tending toward Chaos, he hadn't changed anything. Eventually… she would win. No matter how long it took.
However, if Dyon's family heard her final thoughts, they would only laugh and smile bright smiles. After all…
A Sacharro doesn't lose.
Fin.

A Final Note from Awespec,
THANK YOU ALL! I hope you've loved this ride as much as I loved writing it. As I said, RNIG was my first baby, but I have a hidden surprise for you all. I've chosen to make RNIG a connected universe with all my cultivation novels, including the currently ongoing Grand Ancestral Bloodlines. But, I will say the connections will only be strongest with a third cultivation novel I have in the works and have yet to release. Who knows, maybe some time in the future, you'll see these characters again :)
For now, please check out my new novel: Genetic Ascension. You can check the author's note below for the blurb.
Aside from that, join my discord and follow my instagram. The former has fun activities and we're currently writing an "audience chooses the path" novel together, and the latter has art works for all my novels
