Chapter 321 - Bitten By A Bug
"Yes, like this. Now shape it and slowly smooth out the edges." Old Fan was currently giving Kana instructions on how to forge. The two were without proper tools or a forge. Kana was using her fire breath to heat the ore.
"Like this?" In a rare moment, Kana was actually taking things seriously. Her efforts right now were so she could improve her forging skills and show her handsome husband how good she had gotten.
With every strike of the hammer, Kana's focus increased. She was completely in her own little world with every strike of her roughly forged hammer. She was so focused she did not even hear the helicopter that had arrived. Stepping off the helicopter, the same man who tried to steal her food.
Old Fan saw the figure who had just arrived and gave a teasing smile: "Brat, it is good that you took a liking to a girl. Otherwise, this old man was going to send you some pretty boys!"
Fan Ji's face turned black. He really wanted to slap this old man! How could he say something like that in front of the girl he was chasing after!? Fan Ji took a peek at the girl behind his grandfather and let out a sigh of relief when he saw she was engrossed in her own world. "Grandfather, when did you arrive?"
"This brat! Does it matter when I arrive!? I was just spending some time with my granddaughter. Whether she likes you or not is up to you. This old man has already decided to put her in my will and give her 99% of everything." Old Fan declared. His words caused Fan Ji's face to drop, and a slight panic could be seen in his eyes. Mainly because he knew his grandfather was not joking! This old man had come to like the girl he was chasing more than the other people in the Fan family!
"Grandfather, isn't that a bit sudden? What if I end up marrying her, and we have kids?" Fan Ji had no intentions of hiding the fact that he was chasing after Kana.
"What does that have to do with anything!? Your kids will just need to call you Uncle Papa, is all." Old Fan said shamelessly. He ignored the strange shocked look on Fan Ji's face and went over to check on Kana's progress. "Good, good! Now reheat it and hammer it one more time. Try to get the impurities out of the metal as much as possible. With the carbon added to the slag from before, it will help strengthen the weapon more."
"Grandpa, if I hammer any more, I am afraid it will break apart and lose shape." Kana said as she looked at the glowing metal in front of her.
"It's fine, trust me. Just keep hitting it. When has your grandfather ever lied to you, hmm?" Old Fan said in a doting voice.
Fan Ji, who was watching the two's interaction from the side, was in utter shock. He couldn't understand why these two were speaking so naturally! What did he mean, when has he ever lied to her!? Did they not just meet a few hours ago!? Why are they acting as if they have been family for tens of years!? The worst part was his grandfather was closer to the girl he liked more than he was! He had yet to even speak to her! She even had her lizard throw him away like a piece of trash. This was unfair! He wanted to talk to her too!
"Umm… Grandfather, can you let me speak to…" Fan Ji tried to cut into their conversation when he suddenly felt his body being lifted off the ground.
"The monster said she didn't want people who tried to steal her food around. Do not take this the wrong way, but I do wish to keep my manhood, so I have no choice." A rough voice entered Fan Ji's ears. But before he could even turn to see who it was, he was once again flying through the air again.
"Hmmm? Lizzy was someone else here?" Kana asked as she turned around, but when she saw the big pile of boxes sitting there and the amazing smelling coming from within. A big smile formed on Kana's face as she ignored Lizzy, who was giving her an answer to her question, and ran over to the boxes. She didn't even ask whose they were before opening then digging in.
"Grandpa! You really know how to treat me!" Kana said happily. Her smile shining brighter than the sun.
Old Fan also smiled and nodded his head as he shamelessly took credit for all the boxes of food. "I know my precious granddaughter loves to eat, so I made sure there were many delicacies!"
"MMm! They taste good Grandpa, come join me!" Kana said as she took a big bite of some kind of seasoned meat. "Lizshy, you too!" Even Lizzy got to feast on the food prepared for her by a certain young man who was now stuck in a tree on the other side of the forest. As for said young man, he was pondering what to do to get rid of his grandfather so he can spend some alone time with Kana.
In another part of the forest, on top of an old abandoned watchtower, Instructor Shelly was lying prone on the ground with a fifty caliber rifle in her hands. She was looking through the scope that sat on top of the gun, the crosshairs trained on the back of Kana's head. "Don't hate me for this Seven. But I can not allow you to bewitch the Fan family. If he is going to marry any woman, it will not be a monster like you."
Instructor Shelly lined up her shot and pulled the trigger.
*Boom!*
"Ouch!?" Kana rubbed the back of her head and looked around. "A bug?" Kana pouted. She had been out here for so long and now… She was actually bitten by a bug!
