Chapter 156: Steve Chapter 155

Chapter 156: Steve Chapter 155

After saying goodbye to Frigga,

Fang Mo quickly returned to his own residence.

Having resolved the Dark Elves, the plot on Thor 2's side was officially concluded.

This time, Fang Mo didn't go out to soak in the hot springs; instead, he comfortably took a hot bath in his own palace. He also took the opportunity to review the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If he remembered correctly, the original order in the storyline should be Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, and then Guardians of the Galaxy 1, followed by Avengers 2.

In Avengers 2, Stark used the Mind Stone to create an artificial intelligence with the intention of protecting the world.

However, it unexpectedly gave rise to the major antagonist Ultron.

When Ultron was first created, it was originally a very naive artificial intelligence. However, after spending a little time browsing the human internet, it immediately turned malicious. Whether it was due to exposure to dark humor from hell, insults from trolls, or some dark and twisted content, it quickly determined to destroy the world.

But in reality...

Fang Mo had just finished with the plot of Thor 2.

Next, he should be returning to Earth to deal with the mess caused by the Serpent Society alongside Nick Fury.

However, when Fang Mo had arrived in the Marvel world, he happened to encounter Nick Fury, who claimed that he had already taken care of Hydra. This was clearly a butterfly effect caused by his actions.

And there's more to it.

Because Fang Mo currently possessed the Mind Stone.

It's obvious that Stark couldn't use it to create artificial intelligence.

This meant that the entire plot of Avengers 2 was nullified, and Sokovia wouldn't be destroyed.

This had a significant impact, as it led to a domino effect. Without the Sokovia Accords, there wouldn't be the Civil War storyline for Captain America 3, and it could even affect the events of Infinity War. This alteration was quite substantial.

However, truth be told...

Fang Mo didn't really care about all of this.

Ultron in Avengers 2 was already a flawed character, possessing the ability to manipulate the entire internet. With such power, he could easily wreak havoc on the financial sector and cause world-ending chaos. Wanting Sokovia to ascend was simply nonsensical.

He also created someone named Vision in the end.

To be honest, this character was hyped up quite a bit in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

However, during actual combat, Vision unexpectedly topped the list of "Most Useless" in Infinity War, right alongside Star-Lord. This felt quite disappointing; even Star-Lord wasn't as ineffective.

Fang Mo's thoughts were simple.

He came to the Marvel world with two goals.

First, collect the Infinity Stones. Second, confront Thanos.

Currently, Fang Mo already had three Infinity Stones in his possession. As for the remaining stones, he had a general idea of where they were. Therefore, there was no need for him to follow the original storyline anymore.

After being influenced by the Mind Stone once before, Fang Mo realized that his mental state had been affected. He understood that he needed to collect the Infinity Stones as soon as possible and snap his fingers to see if he could go back, or at least have a conversation with his family.

If things didn't work out, he could always snap his fingers to create a mod that allowed him to understand crafting recipes.

During this time in the bath,

Fang Mo had already made plans for the future.

When he emerged from the bathroom, he casually snapped his fingers. With a snap, his naked body was instantly replaced with a golden-white robe.

After changing his clothes, Fang Mo lit a few candles and paid his respects to the deity Notch across the endless void. Then, he summoned his avatar, Steve, and had him take out the three rainbow-colored lucky blocks.

"Hoo..."

Fang Mo took a deep breath nervously.

Then, he controlled Steve to open the first lucky block.

Familiar white light flashed, and suddenly, an orange-red gem appeared in Steve's inventory.

"Hmm?"

Fang Mo was taken aback, then immediately had Steve examine the item.

It was a circular orange-red gem with a strange, flowing texture inside, reminiscent of flowing lava. There was no extra description on the item; only the words "Refined Firestone" were written.

"Refined Firestone?"

After seeing this item, Fang Mo furrowed his brows and pondered for a moment.

He vaguely remembered this thing. It seemed to be from a large industrial mod in the game, but he didn't use it often, so his memory was a bit hazy.

However, after a bit of reflection, Fang Mo recalled.

The Refined Firestone was an item from the Railcraft mod. The mod introduced a series of railroad automation and logistic systems, along with some old-fashioned steam power-related features, and this Firestone was one of the items in that mod.

Originally, the Firestone was a type of ore.

It was extremely rare and only generated in the lower levels of the Nether's large lava lakes.

When the Firestone ore was crushed, it would drop a piece of natural Firestone.

Just holding or keeping this natural Firestone in one's inventory would cause its energy to continuously expand, and everything around the player would be burned to ashes.

In the game, the natural Firestone couldn't be used properly.

If players wanted to control the energy of the Nether, they had to place this item along with four diamond pickaxes on a crafting table, cut the natural Firestone, and turn it into a more regular round gem.

Each cut required the durability of four diamond pickaxes.

But that wasn't the end of it.

While the cut Firestone would have a regular appearance, its energy would often escape control. So, players needed to use four buckets of lava and four redstone to stabilize this cut Firestone and turn it into a Refined Firestone.

As for the Refined Firestone...

That's when it became quite powerful.

The Refined Firestone could contain an astonishing amount of thermal energy inside.

In the game, players could throw a freshly crafted Refined Firestone into a lava lake. Then, the Refined Firestone would rise into the air, absorbing all the thermal energy and turning the lava into obsidian.

The lava lakes in the main world couldn't satisfy this item's appetite at all.

Only the super-sized lava lakes in the Nether could fill the internal thermal energy storage of the Refined Firestone.

However, despite its cool design, the Railcraft mod was mainly focused on industrial logistics. Even though the Refined Firestone could absorb an immense amount of thermal energy, its ultimate purpose in the mod was to be used as a tool for boiling water.

"Emmmm..."

Fang Mo stared at the Refined Firestone in Steve's hand, lost in thought.

Items like the "Refined Firestone" in Minecraft had a lot of potential but often fell short in actual gameplay, disappointing players. Fang Mo had used Refined Firestones as coal to smelt potatoes and meat in furnaces, jokingly calling it a way to save coal.

Clearly, the Refined Firestone's utility in the Minecraft world was limited. Yet, he was now holding it in real life. This was another instance where something from the game was manifesting in reality. Fang Mo already had the Ring of Arcana, which could generate high temperatures, so he didn't really need to manufacture heat with the Refined Firestone.

However, considering that the Casket of Ancient Winters had recharged the Ring of Arcana, perhaps the Refined Firestone might have a similar effect. After all, he was in the lucky realm, the Asgard, so theoretically, he shouldn't draw garbage, right?

Thinking about this, Fang Mo controlled Steve to open the second lucky block.

With a thought, a white light flashed, and an item appeared in Steve's hand that he recognized.

When he had drawn cards in the X-Men world, because of all the sacrifices... because he had saved so many lives, Fang Mo had obtained the Ring of Arcana and the Evertide Amulet.

Now, he had obtained another artifact through an equivalent exchange.

Another talisman that opposed the Evertide Amulet.

Burning crimson flames, devouring all things.

The Volcanite Amulet.

The usage of this item was similar to the Evertide Amulet. It provided immunity to lava damage, turned rainy days into clear skies, and allowed the manipulation of lava and melting of various materials.

Well like... Admiral Akainu or the Legendary Pokemon Groudon?

"Um..."

Seeing the Volcanite Amulet in Steve's hand, Fang Mo fell into contemplation again.

To be honest, equivalent exchange artifacts were quite useful, but what was happening to him today? Why did he draw two items related to fire and lava? Was he supposed to start a crematorium... a cremation ground?

Bring the villains' mothers here, and you have yourself a cremation service?

"Could you give me a Transmutation Table, big guy?" Fang Mo rubbed his forehead in a headache. He had only one lucky block left: "If you don't want to give me a Transmutation Table, how about a mod tool that lets me view crafting recipes? Can I ask for that as a favor?"

With this in mind, Fang Mo directly controlled Steve to open the third lucky block.

After the white light flashed,

Steve was holding a book.
