Chapter 1605: Improvements

Ning sat in the room of one of the tall buildings, his feet dangling from the edge as he thought of what he should do now.

Was it in his right to let this person know what they had forgotten? Would he be just to let them know about Mexol and humanity that thrived on the planet?

"Why not?" Ning thought. "These people deserve to know that much."

The question was how was he going to tell them? He could just tell them, but he didn't want to reveal himself just yet. There was still a lot of time before the System's AI came back online, and he wanted to wait until that for this all to be over.

'Am I selfish in thinking that?' he wondered. Maybe he was. He thought for a moment and nodded slowly. He knew just what to do.

He flew down from the building and made his way through the towns of this new planet, searching for a certain location. He came across the place he was looking and and quickly entered.

It was a video rental store, one he knew would exist given the existence of televisions hundreds of years ago. Humanity had been on the brink of extinction, so there hadn't been much improvement in technologies during this time, so he could still find Data Cores that contained movies.

Ning looked around the store for a bit and found what he was looking for. It was in the history session, and it explained all the things that had happened in the past, how the world had come to an end, and how they had found home in the stars.

It also said how they came back from the stars and rebuilt their planet. It was a documentary of tragedy, hardship, and overcoming them both with sheer willpower.

Ning took the core, replicated it, and left with the replica. He flew back from the planet, making his way back to Wream. When he was close enough, he teleported directly into the room of Relics, where he swapped the Data Core in that television set and fixed it so it would work when the people came to view it.

Once that was done, all Ning had to do was wait.

Ning returned to Urelon, where he would have to wait another 7 months for the moon to orbit around the planet and begin to enter its dark side.

It took 9 months to reach the Dark side, but due to the lack of Spark by then and the need to remain in the sunlight, people would leave the place long before that.

And so, Ning had to wait until it was time to go back to Wream.

Just 5 months before it was time to leave, the workload increased on all of them, as they began making constant trips to the surface to gather as much Spark as they could.

Around this very time, the people that Ning had been giving Spark came forward with many new discoveries, to the point that not even the Major General could stand by watching while doing nothing.

He soon gave these researchers the proper respect they deserved and integrated them into the Military to make use of their brilliant minds.

Soon, these people began making changes to many little things that improved the overall efficiency of everything that the Military did.

Perhaps, the most important change they made was to develop tighter, more formfitting suits that would deliver Sparks, air, and water to them through multiple cylinders on their back.

Instead of having to suck it through a pouch at their front, they could now use their cylinders. The Cylinders were rather easy to use and refill as well. All they had to do was take off the cylinders, uncap the top, and fill it. For Spark, they had to fill the Spark and then have a breather create air directly into the cylinder.

The pressure within the cylinder increased, and it directly transferred Spark into their suits without having to continuously open it. This lessened the pain that the people had to go through to make use of their powers while outside.

Thanks to this small change, people could now spend a lot longer time on the outside as well and each person was free to move on their own as they were no longer connected to people.

They could also make emergency stops where they could have their Carver create a small sealed room on the ground and have the Breather fill it with air.

Then, they could even take off their helmets and take some rest, maybe eat and take care of their bathroom needs. They could even sleep, should they wish to, and then continue their journey the next day.

Thanks to these changes, the rate of Spark gathering had improved a lot by the end of the very month the cylinders had been implemented and the soldiers were now reaching far and wide to gather the Sparks from reserves that had previously gone untouched.

Soon, they were gathering so much Spark that they didn't even have to put a ban on how much Spark one could use as they approached the time to leave.

Ning worked hard during this time too, going out with his own team to gather the Spark from far and wide. As a Converter, he was also sent to work on the ships, where he had to check the ship and fix any issues it had.

If there was an issue, a Carver would make a replica of the part that was damaged, and Ning would have to simply convert the material into Newt-Metal and fit it back into place.

It was an easy task, and that was how these people had been keeping these ships working for so long. That was how they had replicated the only ship to remain back then.

And as time slowly passed, it was now the day for them to all leave the moon of Urelon, and make their way to Wream.
