Chapter 69: Chapter 69 – Cannon fodders and Villains
That evening, after taking a small nap, the three, along with Elle, went out for a walk around the deck. The sun had turned golden, casting warm light on everything it touched. Feng basked in its glory with a long sigh.
The only thing that was common with her own world was the feeling of happiness when she viewed the beautiful view of sun setting and rising.
It gave her the feeling of comfort.
Like a warm hug, the warm rays heated up her cold cheeks.
“Meimei, why aren’t you wearing your coat?” Elle mumbled, hugging her softly. “Don’t worry, I’ll make you warm.”
Aiden also ran to her, but stopped a foot away. His powers mainly revolved around ice particles and ice energy, so his body was cold all year around. He resorted to holding her gloved hand with a smile of content.
“Why are you still carrying that,” Ethan mumbled, pointing at the small crustal sphere in her hand.
.....
Feng just awkwardly smirked. “This keeps my pain away. Even though I didn’t train today, my muscles are aching very badly. I didn’t know what else to do. I think I’m addicted to this...”
Ethan mentally noted to himself to learn that enchantment and cast it soon in a kerchief or a small paper so that it would be convenient for Feng.
Right then, four burly men surrounded them.
“You four come with us.”
Ethan frowned slightly and pulled everyone back. In an open space like this, his powers were the most apt to use. “Who are you?”
“I said follow us midgets, our master wants to talk with you all.”
“What if we don’t want to meet your master?”
One of them moved threateningly close, snapping his knuckles. “Then I might have to use force.”
“We’ll see how you can force us...” Ethan growled. The clear sky was suddenly filled with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled loudly. The now calm seas were turbulent, sloshing waves after waves onto their steady ship.
The four men slightly moved back while the toughest looking one moved forward. “Bring the girls, I’ll take care of the brats.”
“Stop. We’ll come with you,” Feng intervened before things could get intense. The other men glanced at her sceptically.
Ethan and Aiden both glanced at her with a deep frown.
“Don’t worry; you just want to talk with us, right?”
“Right,” the men chuckled, mocking them openly.
Ethan moved back slightly and held her hand. “Feng, what’s your plan,”
“I don’t know who the instigator is we can’t just offend some unknown person. Let’s go face him directly,” she whispered.
The men did not force them anymore. The men gestured to the stairwell, up to the even upper floors.
Lady Hiliana’s residence was in the mid-deck whilst the servants and the other staffs stayed on the bottom deck. Only the royal bloodline and other royal related nobles stayed up.
Feng Mei glanced up with a deep frown. ‘Who the hell did we offend?’
She was slightly regretting the decision to follow them, but in the long run this decision was the best she could decide upon. If this person who sent these servants did not have any bad intent, then having an open duel with them will only create an enemy.
But if this person already had evil intent, then they would have to deal with them properly.
‘Let’s rattle the grass to see whether a snake resides.’
The men led them over to a huge, black, ornate door. They opened the door, and they stiffly stood on each side.
Feng straightened her back and confidently walked in. Inside there was a dark-haired man sitting there with a forlorn look on his face. He looked about fifteen or eighteen, but the presence he had was undefeated.
‘Who is this? Is he another important game character?’
She curtsied. “What might the occasion be for kind sir to invite us in an unruly way?”
He raised his brows and smirked. “Young girl knows to talk. How old are you ten? Don’t you know that you have to respect your elders?”
“I have been taught to respect the ones who show me respect. In that retrospective you have no rights to demand for it,”
Elle giggled softly and showed her thumbs up. Even Ethan and Aiden were very impressed by her confidence.
The black-haired man stood up and slowly walked close. “Lost respect or won’t show respect? I guess you street rats were not taught well by your beggar parents.”
“Hey!! She is my part of my family! Don’t you dare disrespect her!!” Elle yelled and ran towards him, but Feng caught her by her waist and gently patted her stiff back.
“It’s okay, Elle I’ll do the talking,” she then glanced at the man. “Sir, what is your purpose for calling us here. We don’t have all day.”
He chuckled with a dark look in his eyes. “You should give all of your time if I ask you to how could you even go against my word. What an audacious creature you are.”
Feng stiffened up. She wanted to find the reason he was hostile to them, but this guy was much dangerous than she had anticipated.
“It is not proper...”
Right then the door behind them opened and a small blond girl walked in with a small tray. “Brother Hibi~ I have bought you tea~” she cutely whispered as she wobbled around with it.
The man hurriedly helped her by taking the tray away. “Why are you doing such hard work? Didn’t I tell you to rest,” he whispered gently wiping at her red eyes.
“But brother Hibi might not get enough sleep if I don’t see him,” she giggled softly.
Feng watched this with a small sigh. ‘So this is why? Ahhh it is the main protagonist halo. Is that why this stupid guy is hazing us? Because we didn’t play with her? Fuck this game is totally fucked up.’
From a player’s perspective, this game looked so romantic it handsome men hoping left and right falling to our dear Clarina’s feet.
But along their path of rose these main characters had to trample few ‘villains’ and cannon fodder just to make them feel more ‘romantically induced with each other’
‘Is that what this is? Are we the.... villains?!!!!!’
